Given that "discovering you are a clone" is paired with "discovering you are a robot", I think most people are assuming the sci-fi version of cloning over the realistic kind, ie that the clone is literally identical in every way (appearance, personality, memories) to their original at the time they were copied.

As for the identical twin poll, I think people just really want to be a robot.

I know every animal has their own personality and boundaries, but overall which reptile breed enjoys or tolerates handling the most?

Hello hello - great question! You're right, it does very HIGHLY among individuals, but generally if you want a reptile that tolerates handling very well, you won't go wrong with a big lizard.

Lizards like bearded dragons, blue-tongue skinks, and Ackie monitors are all a reasonable size for keeping and tolerate handling very well. The emerald tree skink might be the all-around winner here, though, as they often seem to actively enjoy handling. I used to work with one who would quite literally be on your hands the second you opened his enclosure.

As for snakes, most snakes, if they are consistently handled gently and treated with respect, will learn to tolerate handling. If you want a very handleable snake, look for a bigger, heavier-bodied animal instead of a very small species, as those tend to be flightier. Medium-sized pythons (like children's pythons and ball pythons) are great contenders, but boas stand out here. Boa constrictors tend to be the champions when it comes to snake handling, they move slowly and have easy-going but curious temperaments so usually enjoy coming out to explore and hang out.

I am sorry. I’m bashing Apple here. And for good reason.

This is a plea to my followers.

Stop buying Apple products. I know you’ve used them for most of your life, and I know it’s inconvenient to move to a new brand because in most cases, you cannot take your contacts with you on various chat apps.

I know this is inconvenient. I truly do.

But Apple is not the company it was before. There is now no difference between an Apple computer and a Windows computer in terms of graphic design. I know this for a fact. I had to use both in college 20 years ago, and non-apple computers are now generally better for design work than Apple computers.

Most non-apple companies encourage self-repair of your own devices, while Apple refuses it. I also know this for a fact, as I watched Apple computers become slowly less reparable through the late 90s and early 2000s. Where I was once able to do the repairs on our office computers, we had to start sending out our Apple devices because they started gluing things down on their logic boards. Notably the glue they used was not heat-resistant and led to device damage should the heat sink system fail. But they did this because they wanted to dig more money out of their customers.

Apple software is also designed to fail. I cannot believe people are still buying new devices after the scandal where Apple was slowing their phones in order to force people to purchase new versions.

Apple hardware is designed to become obsolete. Motherboards and logic boards are designed to hold exactly what comes attached to them and will fail if upgrade attempts are made.

Apple refuses to work with software developers despite promises of cross-compatibility. One of the very first coding problems I discovered was to discover a gigantic hole in a software program that made a plotter (giant printer) compatible with iOS. This caused a memory leak, leading to necessary resets of the computer after every 2 feet of printing.

I know that it’s not possible for most of you to just throw your devices away and buy a new one. I wouldn’t be able to do that, either. But eventually there will come a time when you have to upgrade, and I encourage you to take the plunge and purchase a non-apple device. I don’t even have a recommendation for you because literally anything is better than Apple. A rock that you write on is better than an Apple phone.

Unfortunately I expect to be shadow-banned on Apple devices because of this, and I’ll try to report on decreased activity as much as I can.

I think a lot of the reason people perceive wasps as "mean" is because of the common perception of wasps as evil. In reality, they're no more aggressive on average then bees.

Personally, I've dealt with plenty of wasps, ranging from yellowjackets to great black digger wasps, and never been stung. A lot of that has to do with A, Broadly knowing what kind of wasp I'm dealing with (great black digger wasps are less likely to sting then yellowjackets if you get close), and B, knowing how wasps perceive the world in a general sense.

Little anecdote, I once had a yellowjacket in front of my back door, trying to build a nest.

While I'm actually fine with yellowjackets having a nest nearby (they're good pest control!), the placement meant the moment it got big enough, opening the door would wreck it, so it had to go.

I never used pesticides, or hurt the wasp. I'd just take a broom and gently shoo her away when she was building, or smack it near her if she was on the wall to scare her off.

Eventually I realized she'd built a small bit of nest, which was why she was coming back, so I broke it off and got rid of it and she never came back.

The reason she never stung me, even though I could have very easily been seen as a threat to her, is because while some wasps can remember faces, the thing that was threatening her was always the broom, and it's hard for a wasp to correlate human with broom since they don't really have a concept of "holding".

Oh my god you cannot just remove a species from an ecosystem and expect things to be fine there are always consequences and ecological webs are always more complicated than you think they are
