AUAUAAUAAAAGH STOP BURNING MY TEXT

here it is without the ray of death
80 years ago on June 6, 1944, D-day began.

Wounded soldiers of the U.S. 3rd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division on a smoke break after capturing Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. Drawn in 2021.
This is epic!

Thanks for the heart attack, TWotW tumblr.
(design by @gjf-productions i kina forgot to add this when i initally posted this)
i was all like "im feeling a little tired from modelling Wells, so i'll take a short little break and take a peek at whats going on on the wotw tag" and then i had the most heart attack to ever heart attack the oment i saw the.... let me check. THE TRIPODETTE yeah that little character. No idea why i had that reaction, though it feels a little bit familiar. Though i often get that feeling, so it could just be nothing. Very nice design nonetheless !

also-also, when i was making this the armless version reminded my of my own tripod design that i swear i'll get to drawing one day.
I think its because my tripod design was made in the likeness of the human torso, to mimic that "leisurely parody of the human stride" that H. G. described their movement as in The Thunder-Child chapter.
