Just realized I made Sherlock aware of the fact that he's a character and now the floodgates have opened. What have I done!?!?

Inside me are two wolves. One with the idea that every Sherlock adaptation is a different universe and they all live happily with their Watson. Another where each adaptation is effectively a reboot and while all Sherlocks have their Watsons, they also lose them.
