Angels fall with a dull thump and the flash of a light.

A human ear registers the sound as a small whimper, a soft wind blowing and howling in a somewhat strange way for only moments before normality returns. But differently from mere mortals, Heaven and Hell shake at the disturbance, the rare happening indicating the failure of another superior creature.

Jungkook doesn’t remember the thump and the fall, but he remembers the brightness vividly - a striking and blinding light before he entered the life he’s gotten used to now. The punishment he’s wandered into would certainly be less frightening if he knew how he’d gotten to suffer through it and how he can fight it.

The apartment can barely handle you and Jungkook together doing everything at once.

It’s cramped even if it’s a lavish apartment in the city. The space is teeming with the countless gifts you’ve accumulated all throughout In Terms of Eternity’s run and with the last episode due next week, you don’t doubt that it would be even more packed.

It’s heroic for you and your husband to conquer so many things at once all at the same time — packing last-minute for a long-overdue vacation that would last for almost a month, packing things in advance so the two of you would move in to your house for the meantime right after the vacation, and the cherry on top — planning for a new house amidst it all.

You’re on your cellphone asking Jimin to redirect all the gifts you’ll receive from this point forward to your old house for the meantime; your parents are on the house phone because you’re asking them to watch over Miso for the time being. With it, you’re on your laptop exchanging emails with the contractor.

Jungkook’s bouncing from one place to another, multiple luggages set on the floor. He’s packing his and yours combined and tries not to overthink it (he’s considering bringing the king-sized comforter because what if he misses your bed at home), all while trying to pry off Miso from eating all the styrofoam wrapped around the fridge.

The intercom rings and it barely fazes the two of you because you’re so busy, Jungkook only hearing it by the third ring.

“Did we order dinner?” he asks over Miso yowling for apparently no reason at all, stepping over the numerous things sprawled out to see what it was all about.

“It’s already dinner?” you exclaim, peering your head and squinting your eyes to see the tiny screen on the intercom. “Oh, that’s Yoongi! He brought us our sunglasses!”

“He found them?! Thank god,” Jungkook sighs in relief at the thought, majorly calm now that he gets to tick off the last remaining item the two of you needed for vacation.

The sunglasses would make or break your whole vacation, two pieces that were both rare and matching that it was especially hard to scour the web for them. It’s two pairs of extremely flattering yet expensive couple sunglasses you insisted on having, and Jungkook wouldn’t argue further.

Yoongi’s built himself connections to the luxury eyewear scene from how often he wears them, and considering that he’s the ambassador for the same brand you’ve been vying for, it made perfect sense for you to call in a favor.

“Jungkook, dude! God, getting this was hard. And that’s coming from me, their actual ambassador!” Yoongi complains the moment the door’s opened for him, letting himself in and belatedly realizing the chaos that was unfolding in your very apartment.

“Thank you so much, Yoongi. We owe you a lot for this one,” Jungkook settles in for a side-hug, voice loud with relief that he doesn’t even notice he groaned Yoongi’s name out loud.

It’s too hectic for either of you to realize that Yoongi’s here.

And so is Miso.

“Aw, is that your cat?” Yoongi coos the moment he sees the mass of fluff walk slowly over to him determinedly, mistaking the daunting pace as friendly. “She’s so— fuck!”

Yoongi’s scream is what alerts you and Jungkook, the realization dawning in that Yoongi and Miso — the very cat that your husband taught to attack him from a mere mention of his name or just his appearance itself — are in the same room.

Miso’s tail is puffed as she’s latching on to Yoongi’s hoodie, thankfully not breaking any skin but dangerously close because she’s just hanging there, her paw curled and ready to smack him as she practiced on a rat before.

“Why is she trying to kill me?!”

“I-I don’t know!” Jungkook exasperates in between chuckles he’s trying so hard to contain, troubling Yoongi even more because he doesn’t know what’s so funny.

“Miso! Where is this behavior from?” Jungkook snatches her from Yoongi’s hoodie, relenting but not without giving a continuously long hiss.

“Do you have any idea why your cat’s trying to kill me?” Yoongi’s eyes bulge towards you who’s trying earnestly not to laugh, eyebrows drawing inwards because he’s the only one clueless.

“I... I don’t know either.”
