What a journey…

This one was a real challenge, from the hoodie to the flower crown.

This scene is inspired by an amazing Dance!Tale fanfic, Despacito, by the gifted @bwandrz.

I had this picture in my mind for a while now and gave it a try. I wanted something ethereal and out of time, like a sweet dream. That’s why I didn’t want Momo (the MC) to be too defined, and let the reader make their own interpretation of her.

Assembling and balancing the flower crown was a long and difficult process, but I’m quite happy with the result.

All of this mixed with my textured and “tarot card” style.

ERRORS

Just a little art dump before I fade back into the void (i’m rlly bad at posting LMAO)

(Some of these are kinda old but I think they’re cool so I’m posting them anyway)💥

I mean, they all can't feel, one way or the other.

Flowey and Ink can't because they're soulless, Fresh can't for reasons I don't know [I'm guessing he's either very emotionally underdeveloped, or, because he has lived with fear as his main and most important instinct since his creation that, in his pursuit for survival, everything else has been unintentionally shoved way back where he can't feel it], and Killer can't feel because of Soul Shenanigans. And they all make up for it with a facade of cheer, which they accomplish through different means.

But something I find interesting is their intentions behind the facade.

Fresh and Flowey both keep up their cheerful facade to lower the guard of whoever they're interacting with. They want the other person less wary because Flowey wants new things/more information/different games, and Fresh wants a new host so he can continue his existence.

I haven't read the Something New comic, but I'm guessing Killer keeps his facade up as a coping mechanism/distraction from The Horrors.

And Ink drinks his paints because he cannot stand the feeling of feeling nothing. Of being nothing, comatose in a colorless state. But another reason why he does it is so he can pass as having a soul [this fact is canon and is on comyet's FAQ Ink page]

There are definitely connections. But there are many differences in the similarities that are fun to think about.

My brain has been trying to make a connection between Fresh, Ink, Killer and Flowey. THERE'S SOMETHING THERE I SWEAR!!!

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

I'm going to just consider these year-long drawing prompts. I can't believe some of these are considered 'cringe'!

I wanted to post the prompt list a month in advance so people have time to work on it :)

There are no hard rules; it's just a fun art exercise to draw things that are considered "cringe" by popular culture. Don't stress if you miss a day!!

Even if you don't participate, it would mean the world to me if you just shared the prompt list because it took me a while to make it lol.
