A soft giggle slips past your lips when your boyfriend twirls you back into his arms as you both fall in step once again, letting the rhythm control your movements.

The music on the mini-speaker played lowly throughout the apartment, the scent of gingerbread cookies and hot cocoa wafting through the air, with your arms around his neck and his hands finding solace on your waist.

The golden glow of the Christmas tree illuminates your dancing figures as you look up into his big brown eyes that shine with affection, his lips curled in a tender smile that flashes his pearly whites as his forehead rests against yours, and you wish to always be this close with your lover.

He places a gentle kiss on the apple of your cheek before whispering, “I have something for you,” his peppermint breath fanning your face.

“Early Christmas present?” you quip in a whisper of your own, the grin on your face growing bigger as you laugh inwardly.

He chuckles but doesn't respond and slides his hands down to your hips before gently pushing your body away.

Your heart skips a beat the very second he gets down on one knee, a quiet gasp escaping your lips when he pulls out a small red velvet box from the pocket of his plaid pajama pants, opening the top to reveal a diamond ring, you instantly recognize it as the one you couldn't stop admiring a few months ago in the jewelry store.

He looks up at you with those beautiful doe eyes of his, their deep brown rich and soft like chocolate, “I spent months trying to come up with the perfect speech for this moment, and every time I fell short on words.” he laughs, dropping his head for a second as tears begin to blur his vision.

You fared no better, eyes becoming glossy as your heart swelled with joy, you waited for his next words.

He looks up at you again with a tear streaming down his cheek and takes your hand in his, “All I know is that I love you, I love you today, I loved you yesterday and all the days before, I’ll love you tomorrow and every day after, I’ll love you forever.” He sniffs, wiping away the tear with his shoulder before he continues.

“I love you when you're sad, when you're happy, and even when you're angry. I love you when you’re stressed, I love you when you’re sleepy, I love you when you’re on your period and being kind of mean to me.”

You giggled at the last part, warm tears spilling down your cheeks.

“I love you the same no matter what version of yourself you are.” He plants a long and light kiss on the knuckles of your hand that he cups in his own.

“There’s a lot of things I could say but I wanna show you instead with this ring, so…” You can see him gulp nervously. “Will you marry me?”

“Yes,” you don’t waste a second, dropping to your knees so your face is level with his and cupping both his cheeks, his hands holding your midriff. “Of course, I'll marry you.”

He smiles, “Ok good, I was a little scared you would reject me like when I first asked you out.”

You roll your eyes, a grin adorning your face. “I love you too, Hesseung.” You respond before pressing your lips against his, pouring all your love into the kiss.
