Has anyone ever opened an egg and found a hatchling inside? If so what happened? If not what would they do?

Everyone focuses on the egg eaters, but who's your favorite dragons besides them?

This is REALLY DIFFICULT...but perhaps one of my oldest warriors. Todosmodeus! Him and Sonlux are actually what inspired the layout of my Tabs (Dragons with complementary designs set in symmetrical pairs that face inwards). His lunar design and velvety midnight robe were one of my first explorations in making a "unique outfit". He's missing a filigree blade though, so whichever dragon in my lair has it is gonna have to fork it over lol!

Hello again^^ Ah, this is a fantastic question!

(Please note that the following is purely Egg Eater Fanon)

Technically, what you've described is possible! But there are many variables to consider. Egg Eating deals heavily with how Raw Elemental Magic within the egg reacts with the Unique Elemental Magics within a dragon.

REM and UEM

UEM- The personality and character of a dragon, their soul if you will, becomes intertwined with their Flight's Element as they grow. Their fears, desires, dreams, hopes, and wishes, and their little personality quirks that make them unique individuals, all merge with this energy to create a sort of unique magical signature.

REM- This is one of the Rawest forms of Elemental Magic, found in few places aside from dragon's eggs. Like the deities they originate from, this magic is intensely powerful, unstable, and chaotic.

CONSUMPTION

Consuming an egg produces all sorts of effects based off of the qualities of the consumer's own UEM. For example, Okira's powers and symptoms are based purely off of fear, guilt and shame. It also has elements of the arcane, as that was the type of egg he had first eaten.

That being said, some effects don't manifest as powers, but are purely physical changes, others are psychological, and sometimes there are no powers to be seen even when eggs are eaten regularly.

It all depends on the type of dragon doing the eating,( and in some cases, a tiny bit on what kind of Element they're consuming)

ANSWER:

So, yes. A dragon could eat too many eggs and end up fatally sick. It would just be uniquely their problem.
