In a moment of weakness, Wednesday looked in Enids eyes. For a moment, she believed they would be the same inviting blue as always, that Enid would understand why and they could put it all behind them. But, instead of finding that solace, she met Enid’s eyes and found anger. Waves crashing inside those usually sparkling eyes. She had hurt Enid. She had betrayed Enid. And now Enid was looking at her with more resentment and anger than Wednesday had ever felt, even towards herself. She had crossed a line. And, now, the only person who had ever understood her, who had loved and believed in her, despite everything, was looking at her the same way everybody else did - like she was a monster.
