A/N: hey you! is nice to see you here again :)

"𝐈𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝."

The screams could be heard from miles away. People were running in despair trying to find a way to survive, the cage had been open, but no, not for them. The birds in the crate had been unlooked, however, the feeling of hope for freedom was never there. Just the pure exasperation of knowing their fate – never having the opportunity to fly: their wings being ripped out from their bodies by predators. Those that are as sly as snakes, coming through every possible corner, crawling in between the bars of their cells as if being caged is not suffering enough. The fathered creatures had been caught in a frail tentative of liberty – becoming into nothing: stomped, smashed, hunted, consumed. Titans, those that had, for one second, been forgotten, will surely be remembered alongside terror and fear, because today, once more, humanity was made aware of how little they indeed were.
Remnants of what once was a magnificent wall hovered in the atmosphere, along with the dust that jumped from the ground as desperate beings tried to save their own lives. The previous clear disaster became a blur of confusion due to the mist that rose, and with every step, they took towards their home, more death was able to approach them. No, it did not make any sense in the present context, thinking about surviving, why would they charge back home if the front was where the true escape was? There was life there, alms of hope. But no, not for them. To Eren, hope was where his mother was, and surely, where Eren was, so were the two little girls. So, they could not stop, not knowing there is a possibility of Carla still being alive.
Hold on tight, mom, we're coming.
What they, certainly, did not expect was that the tight hold relayed on her was those of a giant rock, holding her body down. Still, their strength was as small as their hopefulness, the debris could not be moved by any human force, not leaving any chance unless at the mercy of the damned giants. Life had already decided to leave her, she did not have a choice, and she never had. Since the first day, that Grisha Jaeger and her have come to know each other, her destiny had been sealed. It was imperative for these events to happen: the enclosure, the fall, the death. It was not something any being should see, however, a sacrifice must be paid respect, and Carla Jaeger surely would be remembered: for all the times she cared, instructed, and loved her child. And, oh how beautiful a lover's destiny can be. The meeting, the living, and the dying. "Until death do us part", they said, yet, in Carla's and Grisha's case, it just drove them together – same cause of death: eaten alive by a titan.
Nevertheless, death was not ready to leave them just yet, one more sacrifice needed to be made. And, just as the children were about to reach safety, the titans decide to show no mercy, breaking, one more time, through the walls that once protected them. It was as if life was making these poor children their own slaves to hurt and abuse. And more than ever, destiny was having fun with their suffering, making it almost comical as a massive pile of rubbish crosses the sky, tearing everything in its way, that is, until it finds her. Big turquoise eyes are wide open, the evil world has, again, shown its mercilessness.
Mikasa's silence had never been so loud as salted water drops painted her face, she wanted to scream, for once in her life throw a tantrum, why must the world be this cruel? As for him, he was paralyzed as a spattering of her warm blood covered his wet cheeks. A small body in the ground is colored in crimson colors. She could feel every single crack in her body, as her members were torn open, each drop of vital fluid that escaped from her vessels, the very burning breath that left her lungs as she strived to live – not even at this moment piety was manifested. And, even in this fatidical situation, there it was, those eyes that show so much anger and sadness.
Losing her strength, her gaze traveled up into the sky, and even on that horrendous occasion, as the bright blue skies contrasted with the tainted vermilion land, she, ironically, thought to herself: it's a good way to die – not eaten by a titan, reaching for the paradise.
Her eyes, then, slowly closed themselves, for what she mistook to think was forever.

YEAR 845, WALL ROSE — Two days after the fall of Wall Maria.
Afresh, her eyes were open.
— Oi, N/n. —He called for her attention once more as his left hand found a way to her head —You seemed uncomfortable in your sleep. —he pointed out, now facing forward. — Did you have one of those weird dreams again? —Although exhausted, he was still worried, they just had each other now.
— Eren... — Whispered a weary voice —Did I wake you up? —She promptly tries to change the subject, willing to forget everything she, repeatedly, witnessed.
— I was already awake. — Liar. The first word to emerge in her wave of unceasing ruminations. — Go back to sleep. — He states, attempting to make her rest on his shoulder.
She instinctively looked at him, trying to sit straight. Just then, she realized the weight that rested on her right shoulder, along with the very so soft fabric of Mikasa's crimson scarf in contact with her arm. Consecutively, she stopped moving, not wanting to wake her friend up.
— One of the soldiers said it will take a while for them to allocate us, children, somewhere. So you can ease up for a bit more. —The young boy professes in the middle of a yawn.
— Aren't you going to sleep too? — She asked in an almost silent voice, trying to reach for his hand, her nightmares still too real for her to handle. She did not want to close her eyes again, just to have her mind filled with scenarios of a gruesome life.
— Hum. —He mumbled, resting his head against the stoned, cold wall. — I was waiting for Armin, he just left to try to get some bread for us with his grandfather. —explained Eren with his eyes closed.
— And... — He hesitates, but finally, he looks at her — I just wanted to be sure you are really asleep first, I thought the things-the things we have seen in the last few days could make your dreams worse. —He looked at her broken hand, a reminder that he almost lost her too, if it wasn't for the desperate strangers running for their life bumping into her, she and the ground would have become one.
And I could do nothing. His own mind gnaws at him.
— You almost died. — pronounced quietly facing down. His voice was, uncharacteristically, calm, as though he was still reliving the last few days.
She, then, stopped. Putting her hand down to sit on her lap, remembering the events that had taken place: after Carla's death, we'd sprinted towards the boats with Hannes, but when we were almost there... a rock... a rock- it fell on me. It killed me, I'm sure of it.
— I can't believe I'm not dead, Eren. — she faces him— I-I... I felt it, Eren. I felt the pain, I felt my body dying. It was so real, it's like I can still feel my bones breaking through my skin.
He took her hand in his: — You're still alive, Y/n. We all are. — he breathed, relieved, that the four of them were still able to respire, even in this ugly world, fighting for our freedom is still worth it.
— You're right... maybe it was just another nightmare, right? — she tried to reassure, more to herself than to the boy. In her dream, she had been smashed between the debris and the clod, resulting in her death. However, in some way, she was up and breathing still. But she could not stop wondering, had God finally shown his mercy to her?
Suddenly, she felt a breeze fly past her. The dust that lifted from the ground draws her attention to the skies, her eyes tearing up a bit, as if just right now her mind had sunk in everything that happened.
— Blue. — she said, looking up.
— Blue? — he repeated, staring at her.
— Hum. — affirmed, finally glaring back at him. — The sky... is so pretty today, I feel like I can almost touch it. — the girl extended her broken hand upwards, as if trying to catch a piece of paradise to make it her own, and for a moment, there was silence.

Year 845:Two days after the fall of Wall Maria.
Breathe in, breathe out.
Breathe in, breathe out.
Breathe in, breathe out.
Again, and again, and again.
Big eyes that hold so much fear, with tears in the brim of freedom, a sequence of images, whose blood was this again? She asks herself as the despair takes control of her frail and much-pained body.
Senses other than fear start to wake within her body. Her vision, still blurry, scans the surrounding scenario, not being able to identify much. The smell was not helping either, her stomach was curling in itself, a simple reaction to the disgusting and intoxicating scent in the air. And no, it was not the blood or the corpses in a state of decomposition. It was the despair felt by what was left of humanity. Those insignificant beings, oh poor of them: cloistered by themselves in a cage of degradation and disgrace.
Is it really worth it to keep living? I do not wish to be like this.
The voices in her head getting louder and louder, just like the pained ones in the outside world. She sure wished to be deaf in a moment like this. The time they - as humanity - were living was not very gentle with those who were experiencing it. It certainly should not receive the name of "present" as it means something that should be cherished, appreciated, and lived. The only present they received was the fall of hope, faith, and protection. And in the place of concrete blocks, bodies were being piled, one by one, in this unmerciful and misfortunate wor-

A tired voice suddenly cut her thoughts, like an ax, trying to open a way through a dense and tricky forest. But it was easy for him, the girl always being an over-thinker, living inside her head for most of her life. Constantly being remained by his mother, she should b- Right, mom it's not here anymore.
The fall of the wall had taken way more of them than he would like to admit. Those bastards, giant monsters that resembled humans, treading above us as if we are nothing. They have lost everything, their families, their homes, and their freedom.
I am going to kill every single one of them.
He thought, and his eyes cast down for a moment, a piece of his ragged cloth was wrapped around her left hand in an innocent attempt of putting bones that were once whole back together.
— Oi, N/n. — He called for her attention once more as his left hand found a way to her head —You seemed uncomfortable in your sleep. — he pointed out facing forward. — Did you have one of those weird dreams again? — Although exhausted, he was still worried, they just had each other now.

Assuming that her heart had raced would be an understatement. Gazing at his eyes, it was like her muscles had some type of cellular memory she was unaware of. The tension left her body. Irises that reflected the deepest teal gray oceans, carrying the same anesthetic effects as the remedies Mr. Yeager used to carry around in his bag. She was sure those were the same eyes she saw once her own were closed.
Right, she smiled to herself, having the tiredness invading her once again. That is right, in my dreams, his eyes were there too.
