NEW TAKE What if Merlin, for some ungodly reason, has no fucking idea that magic is illegal on camelot, and Arthur spends 90% of his time trying to keep Merlin out of trouble, both in regards to magical beings but also because he just talks about magic randomly and Arthur is like “don’t mind him he doesn’t know what he’s talking about-”
I guess this would sort of revert the roles and then in the end it would be arthur being like “Merlin I’m lifting the ban on magic” and Merlin is like “wait, what ban on magic-” I guess this could be considered a crackfic ? but I don’t really know all the terms, I dont think I do, cuz I see them I’m like “maybe it doesn’t mean what I think it means-”
