stay safe, do one good thing for your host body even if that's just going to the bathroom or putting on some music and swaying<-dancing/listening to music releases dopamine&endorphins +lowers cortisol

I have an upcoming protest and thought I would use this time to share protest safety and preparation:
The list will include both safety tips, as well as a packing list. If you have anything more to add, please feel free to do so in the comments and tags.
1- Always always always make sure there is someone outside the protest that knows your location and how long you will be there
2- In a similar vein, make sure you either have someone on the outside’s contact information memorized or written down somewhere on your body (preferably somewhere concealed, police have been known to target people with visible phone numbers on them)
3- Wear long leaves and pants to prevent any small scratches if you fall or have to get down, as well as any chemical irritation from tear gas
4- This may be a given, but good walking/running shoes
5- Conceal face and any identifying features like tattoos or unique hair dye colors/patterns
6- Don’t wear contacts or eye makeup, it can cause irritation in the event that tear gas is used
8- If you must bring your phone, turn off Face ID/thumbprint recognition, data, Bluetooth, location, and wifi and keep it in airplane mode
9- Have a buddy system, do not go alone
10- Don’t take photo/video of anyone else there without consent, especially if you have intent to post it
11- If you do post anything, use several layers to cover any faces, names, or other private information, and take a screen shot or recording to post to remove any metadata
12- If you see someone getting arrested, try to get down their full name and date of birth to get them from the station later. Similarly, if you are arrested, do not talk to the cops, and make sure someone else there gets your full name and date of birth.

Many protests go off swimmingly and safely, however you have to always be prepared for the possibility that things could go wrong, even in a peaceful protest. Stay safe out there and keep others safe out there as well.

While honey doesn't spoil, if left in improper conditions it can develop Botulism
Botulism is horrifying because it can cause paralysis along with drooping eyes, dry mouth, blurred/double vision, nausea/stomach cramps/vomiting, facial weakness, issues swallowing/speaking, and issues breathing.
It can also be caused by general foods that are left in improper conditions.
Most cases of Botulism develop this way.

Fucking terrified we are going to have a bushfire season worse than black summer this year and I’ve been saying this to my family and telling them “hey we actually need to formulate an escape plan” but they won’t fucking listen. It was so fucking obvious hearing that we’d be coming out of La Niña and into El Niño that we simply wouldn’t be prepared for how hot it was going to be, but seeing the Bureau of Meteorology’s new data on predictions for temperatures this summer is so fucking scary

What to do if you suddenly find yourself homeless
FOOD
Find your nearest food bank or mission, for food
grocery stores with free samples, bakeries + stores with day-old bread
different fast food outlets have cheaper food and will generally let you hang out for a while.
some dollar stores carry food like cans of beans or fruit
SHELTER
Sleeping at beaches during the day is a good way to avoid suspicion and harassment
sleep with your bag strapped to you, so someone can’t steal it
Some churches offer short term residence
Find your nearest homeless shelter
Look for places that are open to the public
A large dumpster near a wall can often be moved so that flipping up the lids creates an angled shelter to stay dry
HYGIENE
A membership to the YMCA is usually only 10$, which has a shower, and sometimes laundry machines and lockers.
Public libraries have bathrooms you can use
Dollar stores carry low-end soaps and deodorant etc.
Wet wipes are all purpose and a life saver
Local beaches, go for a quick swim
Some truck stops have showers you can pay for
Staying clean is the best way to prevent disease, and potentially get a job to get back on your feet
Pack 7 pairs of socks/undies, 2 outfits, and one hooded rain jacket
OTHER

downgrade your cellphone to a pay as you go with top-up cards

Instead of putting in places where drag events are happening, put in places in your where conservatives often flock to (ex NRA club). This way you're both fucking up the system and giving these people a taste of their own medicine.
The TLDR: violent bigots have created a site that anyone can use to report the location of a drag event.
Just to be clear: their form is at a page called Defend Texas Kids and any concerned citizens could click the report button and give the address of anywhere hosting a drag event. There doesn't appear to be any filtering, so in theory anyone could enter any location.
They really should have a way of validating the data people enter, to stop enterprising people entering fictitious events at, say, conservative sites. The site could easily be overloaded with erroneous data making their system unusable...

I've found a suitable replacement priced at $952.00, but it's beyond my budget. While my father offered to cover half, I still need assistance.
