50 years had passed. It had been 50 years since they shared their first kiss, and they had never left each other's sides.
During those 50 years, their love had only grown stronger with each passing day.
Now, she was 70.
As she lay in her bed next to her husband, Katie felt a strange sensation. Both she and her husband had been worried lately; she had been feeling weak and breathless for almost a month now, and doctors couldn't find anything wrong.
She took a deep breath and rested her head against her pillow. Keith knew exactly how she felt. He knew her so well that just one look in her eyes was enough to tell that something was wrong.
But he also knew that if he asked, she would simply answer that she was fine. So, he asked, and as expected, she said that she was okay. He insisted, and so did she.
Deciding to give up, knowing how stubborn she was but also trusting that she would confide in him later if something was truly wrong, he kissed her forehead as they wished each other a good night.
As he closed his eyes, Keith instantly fell asleep. But no matter how much she tried, Pidge couldn't.
As she grew older, it became harder for Pidge to fall asleep at night. She and Keith had lost everyone:
The first to go was Baebae, Pidge's dog. It had been complicated for her, but she stayed strong.
Then came Sam. It was years after Baebae, and it was possibly the worst day of her life by that time.
Sam was followed by Colleen, who couldn't bear losing her husband for the second time. She was an old woman who had been through so much, but her heart could not handle more. She died, drowning in sadness, and no matter how much Matt and Pidge did to save her, it wasn't enough...
After Colleen, Shiro followed. It devastated everyone, especially Keith. But with Pidge by his side, he healed faster.
Hunk died years later. A heart attack was the reason...
The only ones remaining in their lives were Lance, Matt, Krolia, Kosmo, and their kids. Some other people remained, but they were less important in their lives.
And all this kept Pidge awake at night. She remembered the old times, hurting herself by allowing her thoughts to dwell on all the happy moments. And then, she remembered that it was over, that she would never again be hugged by her father or laugh with her mother... That she would never get to hug Baebae to sleep or have nice Paladin hangouts with her friends... And, of course, she would never gossip with Allura again.
She missed Hunk's cookies and his presence when she was feeling down. She missed Shiro's advice and how reassuring he was.
She just wanted to go back in time, start everything over, and reclaim the beauty that she thought she had lost.
And she was happy with Keith. She always had been, and she felt so grateful that he was still by her side today... But she missed how they used to love each other back then, those nights when they wouldn't sleep and would share every piece of passion. She missed discovering his touch, his body; it all felt new back then, and now, it just seemed routine. She knew his touch by heart... And not that she thought it was bad, but she did think that it was better before... Because everything seemed better when they were younger.
She used to fight for peace, she used to be a model for so many people and have an important purpose. Today, she felt worthless. Just an old lady. A grandma, certainly, but then what was next?
Death. And she would feel guilty admitting that she actually waited for it every day now.
She knew that she would leave her kids behind, along with her remaining friends, her brother, and her husband.
But her kids were grown adults now, with their own families and lives that she wished she could still have. They didn't need her anymore...
As for her friends, she only really had Lance and a few acquaintances. But she rarely saw them, if ever. She called Lance often, but that was about it.
She saw Matt often. Same old Matt. And when thoughts of ending her life crossed her mind, she tried to push them away, knowing that she was his only family left.
And then there was her husband. How she loved him. He was the only reason she hadn't tried to end it herself. The only thing tormenting her now was deciding whether she wanted him to die before her or after her... Whether she would hurt him or herself.
She didn't really have a choice.
Lost in thought, her eyes closed, and she felt her body's weight growing heavier with each passing second. She understood. Summoning all her strength, she opened her eyes one last time to look at him. The only man who had ever loved her, the only man she had ever loved.
Oh, how beautiful he looked in the moonlight, she thought to herself, finding the strength to reach for his cheek...
She caressed his cheek, feeling her hand grow too heavy, and she rested it in his.
If only she could tell him how much she loved him... But she didn't want to see him cry. She didn't want him to take her to the hospital or try to "save" her.
She wanted to silently pass away in the bed where they had shared their love for years. In the room where they had once been young together. In peace.
A tear rolled down her face: she was feeling greatful in this moment to have had such a beautiful life.
And she silently hoped that she'll find him again, in another life.

The most special date was their first!!!!
It was a stargazing date on the roof of the garrison one day before the launch of the Atlas... They talked a lot, ordered pizza and ended up holding hands as they were looking at the stars... Eventually, Keith breng her back home on his motorcycle and in front of it, they had their first kiss... HECK, BOTH OF THEM REMEMBER EACH DETAILS OF THIS NIGHT.
Then there was a simple date in the Atlas during which they were simply supposed to watch a movie... But well, it turned out to be their first time... This is why it was SO special...
Keith takes Pidge on new altea often too after the war! They do tones of stuffs there...
As for anniversaries....
They're pretty simple people... They would simply do stuffs at home, like having a romantic bath together full of soft kisses and cuddles... Or watch a movie, still cuddling..... And well, of course, more intimate stuffs follow.
They get each other gifts on that day too... THEY BOTH LOOOVE THAT DAY.
And generally, they spend it together. Only together. And in the morning, they stay in bed FOR HOURS.

One day, kidge's daughter (when she was six) told her parents that she had a little boyfriend at school...

He was like "nop, naha, you are way too young for this..." Or "I was the first man to ever love you and I wont let that little guy steal MY princess from me! Not that early!"

(Fathers' day special!!!)
After getting married and having kids, Pidge noticed how Keith changed since they met: he was so kind and gentle with their kids, he never told them off, never yelled, never give them a punishment and all those stuffs. He was such a great dad, the ones who raise a kid with so much love and care, without spoiling but still giving gifts sometimes. He worked a lot with the Blades, but he always found a way to get home pretty quickly to see his kids and wife, and even if he had just came back from a mission, he would still play a lot with them, no matter how tired he was. When Pidge was working, he would be the one who was taking care of them, and even when he was training, he would stop if one of them would go to him and ask to play.
And Pidge... She was so grate for that: she married a loving gentleman who loved his children so much, so one year, she decided to do a special gift for him for what he did in all those years!
It was fathers' day, after he finished eating and helped Pidge with the dishes and the table, he was about to play with his kids again until she stopped him. He raised a eyebrow, but then she explained that she had a surprise: a family vacation in space without kids! Leaving the kids for a week was a bit heartbreaking for both, but they knew they were in their grandparents and uncles hands, also they all started school, so they were clearly old enough. Keith was a bit sad of not having them after some years with more people with him and his wife, but this was a relaxing vacation, and they really enjoyed it!
Next year, they went in space for a REAL family vacation with the kids too by the way.

All the paladins noticed how suspect they were...

Kayden, her big brother, didnāt like her that much at firstā¦ But he was only 3yo.
She got many gifts from her familyā¦ Especially nonna Colleen.
Krolia also gifted her a blade and just like Kayden, Keith will give it to her when sheāll be ready.
She was crying less than Kayden when he was a newborn.
Just like she did with Kayden, Pidge filmed Keith when he first held AnaĆÆs. The only difference is that he was now more confortable.
She sort of looked like Pidge but her hair was a bit darker and has Keithās eyes.
Kosmo was allowed at the hospital and kept sniffing her and then licking Pidgeās face as if he was trying to congratulate her.
Colleen is very happyĀ ; she wanted a grand-daughter so much!

Just like her brother, She started to crawl early and was following Kosmo Around. The only difference is that she moves a bit less and sleeps a lot.
She is very VERY curious. Plus, whenever she sees something new to her, she immediatly wants to see it closer, touch it and put it in her mouth. Pidge and Keith learned to always keep an eye on her, so did Kosmo.
Once, she tried eating Kosmoās fur. Pidge saw it ans immediatly stopped her.
She loves cuddles with her mommy and her daddyā¦ Same with Kosmo and Kayden.
Kayden plays with her a lot, even tho he thinks she doesnāt play interesting gamesā¦ ( Sheās a baby, you give her a little car or a doll, she wont make sens out of it and will just put it in her mouth or throw itā¦)
She eats EVERYTHING except bananaā¦ She just doesnāt like itā¦
She also eats a LOT.
She likes watching cartoons and drawingā¦ Sheās just a baby so she doesnāt really understands the cartoons and when she draws, It doesnāt look like anythingā¦ But Pidge calls it Ā«Ā abstrait artĀ Ā» and keeps all of the drawings she does.
Once, there was a song on the TV and AnaĆÆs tried singing even tho she canāt talkā¦. Pidge filmed that and it was so cute that she sent it to everyoneā¦
She LOVES animals.
She also loves candies a bit too muchā¦
AnaĆÆs quickly started to try to walkā¦ She was able to after less than a month even tho she still falls.
Her first word was Ā«Ā wolfĀ Ā». Kayden laughed at this.
She admires her big brother and her father when they train. It makes her laugh when Kayden punches Keith.
She also likes to whatch her mommy when she works on her computer because the sound of the key-board is sort of relaxing to her.
Sheās often curled up to Kosmo and asleep.
Once, she saw outside with Keith and found a racoonā¦ She grabbed it and fortunately, the racoon didnāt hurt herā¦

She likes to draw Pidge.
Keith treats her like a little princess and wants to show her how she should expect boys to treat her in the future. ( So he often buys her and Kaiden flowers, for exempleā¦ He buys some to Kaiden too because Kaiden should know what to expect too and because he loves his son as much as his daughter )
When she discovered how meat was made, she cried and refused to meat ever againā¦ She love animals way too much.
She and Kaiden enjoy to garden with their nonna.
AnaĆÆs, just like her brother, loves space. So when granny Krolia is on earth, both of them beg her to take them in her ship to fly around earth.

Pidge actually didn't hate the outdoor, she was just too scared because of her allergies, in fact she find biology and flower inspiring! When Keith told her he loved nature because it was relazing, she almost died from laughing, but then he took her out on a date in the desert just for relax and watch everything around them and she found it very interesting... Sometimes, Keith even gave here some flowers that grow in the desert, after knowing from Colleen that she's not allergic to them, of course!
Kidge headcanon 28
When Pidge found out she was pregnant, Keith became obsessed with her well-being, eating schedule, work, breaks from work, almost everything!! He got a lot protective, and sometimes even too much possessive. Sometimes he didn't let her going out if the weather was cloudy or quite cold, scared she might get a cold or fever and hurt the baby; he always keep an eye on her every night, hugging her tighly and never letting her go. Once he even pounched a man at the Garrison when he accidentally hit Pidge's hip with his elbow. After that they immediatly had a talk about how toxing this was, and that she was also pretty scared sometimes. He said sorry, of course, and promised to never do it again. And he did, even if when the pregnancy was almost over he was still super-protective, but still let her do whatever she wanted if it was okay for her health and the baby's.
Keith was also very VERY protective with his baby too. He never left someone touching them if the hands were not washed or when they weren't vaccinated yet. Again, Pidge had a talk with him and had a little fight too, but Keith understood his mistakes and promised again. He just loved his wife and baby so much that he accidentally let his galra blood take advantages of him. Of course Pidge forgave him. Then, years after, when Pidge got pregnant for the second time, he was more and more permissive, but still a little bit protective tho.
Kidge headcanon 27!!
Keith and Pidge actually met a LOT of years before the Kerberos Mission. Keith's dad decided to take him to a theme park for his birthday and on the same day even the Holt decided to go, even if no one knew the other!
So Sam took a picture of Colleen and a 3 year-old Pidge in a rollercoaster for kids, and right in the backgrownd there were a 6 year-old Keith and his dad! They met and quickly became friends but never saw them again UNTIL they flew into space!
At their wedding, years later, she showed him the picture and said:" This was my first love"
He chuckled and replied: "Good to know, because it's me when I was 6"
Kidge headcanon 48!
I have that headcanon in mind since yesterday in the morning! So here you go!! (Ps, it is SLIGHTLY nsfw... Very slightly tho but if you don't like when people mention nsfw or nsfw kidge, don't read!!)
When they were in the Atlas, Keith and Pidge were secretly dating. Just like many couple, they toon time before to actually sleep in the same bed (unrelated to sā¬x, just sleep)... It was very hard for them to do so because no one knew about them and they didn't want anyone to know yet...
But... Being so close to each other all the time brang them to want more then sleep... So they did it. It became normal to them and basically, Keith was less moody afterwards and Pidge, less stressed about her work.
But there was that one time...
They were doing it in the morning... And then the alarm of the Atlas went on, which meant that they needed to get in their paladin's suit and go save the day....
Keith was furious and no one could tell why... Except his girl that was also a bit moody that day.
Kidge headcanon 26!!
They have a special day called "red light night" when they program a night at Keith's place for you know, spicy things... These nights aren't so frequent but they organise them twice or three times in a few months, deciding a day when both don't have to work. Sometimes they cancel them, but not often.
Also their friends know about these nights, even if both Keith and Pidge decided to keep them as a secret, but now their close friends know they don't have to disturb them or anything. Lance always tease them with that.
Both aren't so open with talking about s*x, so they are very embarassed when someone mention these "red light nights" or their s*xual life. Also they love doing soft and slow things, that's why they reserve an entire night, even if they pass most of it cuddling or sleeping.
Kidge headcanon 25!!
One day, when Keith came back on Earth after a mission with the Blade, Pidge invited him to his apartament just for see and talk to each other after a long time. They don't know how but the conversation went about cooking and she told him she knew a new recipe for some cookies but never tried it, so they ended up doing a mess in the kitchen and cooked some orrible cookies.

Special Valentine's day! (2/?)

For valentine's, many people would give Pidge gifts. So Keith was a bit scared to give her his flowers ( a bouquet that he made for her... He simply bought a few flowers that he thought would go amazing together and put them in a bouquet... He even made sure that she wasn't allergic to them!) and his home made peanutbutter cookies (he asked hunk help to make them...)
later, she was alone in a room at the Garrison and he finally found the strength to give her the gifts. He knew that no matter what happens, he could tell her that it was just a friendly gift ( even tho that would be a HUGE lie)...
Plot twist, she had a gift for him too but was too scared to give it to her...
Kidge headcanon 45: Special Valentine's day! 1/?

At midnight, when itās finally valentines, Keith would wake his wife up with a long kiss just to tell her Ā«Ā happy Valentineās, love...Ā Ā» Sheāll smile and snuggle against him, and give him a few kisses. So to me that sounds like an AU:

Kidge had their first son and soon after, a new war started... The baldes were needed and so was Keith...
Katie and him both talked about it a lot and she knew that they needed him... It hurt her a lot, but she decided to stay strong. She had to stay on earth for their son.
And of course, if Keith was going for a second war it was to protect his son and wife from it...
And he misses them everyday, would trade anything to see them again.
Then, one day, he ends up on a planet, fighting on grounds with his usual blade... But after killing some guys and seeing their blood on his hands and on his blades, he suddenly started to feel guilt. Wondered if that made him a monster... Because these people are just like him: fighting a war that they didn't start in the first place... Probably having a family waiting for them at home...
Would he be a good father for his son after that?... That's not who he was... He used to save families, but now...
While looking at himself in a blood puddle, someone attacked him from behind...
That's how he died, and he is sorry to leave his family this way... Sorry for destroying other families... For not even saving his own family...
But he's just a man.
(OK, WE NEED AND ANIMATIC- like really, think of this scenario while listening. It sticks exactly to the music itself! (Not talking about the lyrics here, more of the instrumentals) like it goes from soft which can be when he leaves his family and thinks of them, then, the music gets a bit more "violent" which is the war... The vocals are adding behind which can show the moment during which he is questioning himself and finally, it ends on a last and sudden note. When he died. I can picture the animatic in my head but I can't draw- if you can tho, contact me, I have ideasš)

Kidge headcanons, 43!
In the Atlas, when Keith had already trained and had nothing else to do, he would try to stay with pidge (eversince everyone else is always busy...)
Well, she's busy too, but at least with her, he could stay in that comfortable silence...
He would just stay with her where ever she was and he'll just wait silently, sometimes asking a few questions...
He'll wait until she finishes what she is doing but, if he thinks that she's taking too long, he'll let her know and tell that she should take a break... Always pretending that it's his role as a leader to remind her that but obviously it's his role as a friend. And he cares a lot about her so yes, she needs a break.
The next chapter is up! Yeah that's a pidge and keef hug. it's what we deserve.

I know I made many different headcanons for kidge's last day on earth but huh... WELL ANYWAYS:
Episode 1 season 8:
Keith was watching the sunset on the head of the black lion along with his furry friend, Kosmo...
Lance came earlier to tell him about his date with Allura and of course, he was happy for them: He knew that both had feelings for each other for a while now... But that simply reminded him of how lonely he was...
He had friends... And at the moment, he had Kosmo... But being alone during his last moments on Earth for a while brought him back to his past. When his dad died, he was alone. Always. And it was okay for him now because he couldn't do otherwise... And after years, nothing had changed, apparently... Or at least, that's what he thought...
He got down from Black's head once the sun had settled... In reality, he stayed a bit longer...
He had nothing to do. Just going home in the cold desert. Plus, he had no electricity and nothing to eat for tonight... But again, it was fine for him because he couldn't do otherwise...
As he was walking in the Garrison, without a purpose, he heard some footsteps coming from the other side of the hallway... Walking directly in his direction... His gaze then met Pidge's as she stopped in front of him.
"Keith?..." she said as if it was the first time she saw him in years... "What are you still doing here?"
"Well, I was heading home now..." He sighed as Kosmo approached Pidge to get pats.
She caressed Kosmo's head with a soft smile and then raised her eyes towards Keith again; "Are you spending your last day on Earth alone?"
"Well... Yeah. Shiro is having dinner with his grandpa... So basically, It's just gonna be me and Kosmo tonight. No big deal, I guess," he admitted, sounding a bit down.
"Aw, that sucks! I heard your place doesn't have electricity either. You're gonna freeze!" she said, concerned.
"Yeah, but it's just for one night, so I'll survive," he replied in a desperate sigh.
She frowned. "How can you say that? What are you even gonna eat?"
He thought for a moment. "I have no idea... Maybe some leftovers if I can find any."
"Gosh, that sounds kinda sad," she said, her worry evident.
"Don't worry too much about it. It's just one night in my life," he reassured her.
"I'm not letting you go through this alone! Come to my place! My mom's cooking dinner tonight, and her food is amazing. Don't tell Hunk, but her cookies are even better than his!" she exclaimed with a mischievous grin.
"I don't wanna be a bother... It's a family dinner," he replied, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Who said that it was a family dinner? You're not bothering us at all. I'm sure my family would be happy to have you with us tonight. My dad used to say that we have the family we're born into and the family we choose. I guess you're part of my chosen family," she said, smiling warmly at him. "Come on, join us!"
He thought for a moment but obviously could not say no to these eyes that were staring at him... He sighed. "Fine, I'll come."
"YAY! Did you hear that, Kosmo? You're coming home with me!" she exclaimed, scratching the back of Kosmo's ear. "Oh, and by the way, you can crash at my place too. It'll be much nicer for you than going back to the desert and catching a cold before the launch..."
"Huh... I'm not sure about that..."
"Aw, come on! Just think about it and let me know later, okay? I'll quickly text my mom to let her know you're coming for dinner. We just have to wait for my dad to finish up some stuff at the Garrison before to leave."
He nodded in agreement, realizing that his plans had taken a complete 180 in less than five minutes, all because of this short, nerdy girl who he found it hard to take his eyes off of. She was actually really pretty, even if others didn't see it. He noticed the beautiful amber color of her hair, eyes, and freckles, and he found it absolutely fascinating. And not just her looks, her personality was captivating too. She had this introverted side but always stood up for herself, and she had so many other amazing qualities that it would take forever to list them all.
To put it simply, she was a smart and beautiful girl with a vibrant spirit and a huge heart. And boy, was she courageous!
How could he not admire her? Heck, how could he not ADORE her?
But despite all that, she was the Paladin he felt the least close to. They had been through a lot together, but they never really had the chance to get to know each other well. He had a unique bond with each of the other Paladins. Shiro was like a big brother to him, Lance started by being annoying but became a friendly annoyance over time (they had known each other for a while, but Keith never really minded him), and he had a few missions with Hunk where they bonded... (Keith also knew Hunk at the Garrison, but just like Lance, he had never minded before...) He even had bonding moments with Allura!

"Alright, my mom said you can come over for dinner and stay the night if you want," she said, putting her phone back in her pocket and looking up at him.
"That's really kind of you... But why are you doing this exactly?" he asked.
"Keith, I couldn't let you starve or freeze to death. I would be genuinely sad, especially when I know I'll be having a nice dinner in a warm house," she replied with a light giggle. "Let's go find my dad and get going."
He smiled. "Okay, let's do that."

Kidge headcanon 33 !
I know I made many different headcanons for kidge's last day on earth but huh... WELL ANYWAYS:
Episode 1 season 8:
Keith was watching the sunset on the head of the black lion along with his furry friend, Kosmo...
Lance came earlier to tell him about his date with Allura and of course, he was happy for them: He knew that both had feelings for each other for a while now... But that simply reminded him of how lonely he was...
He had friends... And at the moment, he had Kosmo... But being alone during his last moments on Earth for a while brought him back to his past. When his dad died, he was alone. Always. And it was okay for him now because he couldn't do otherwise... And after years, nothing had changed, apparently... Or at least, that's what he thought...
He got down from Black's head once the sun had settled... In reality, he stayed a bit longer...
He had nothing to do. Just going home in the cold desert. Plus, he had no electricity and nothing to eat for tonight... But again, it was fine for him because he couldn't do otherwise...
As he was walking in the Garrison, without a purpose, he heard some footsteps coming from the other side of the hallway... Walking directly in his direction... His gaze then met Pidge's as she stopped in front of him.
"Keith?..." she said as if it was the first time she saw him in years... "What are you still doing here?"
"Well, I was heading home now..." He sighed as Kosmo approached Pidge to get pats.
She caressed Kosmo's head with a soft smile and then raised her eyes towards Keith again; "Are you spending your last day on Earth alone?"
"Well... Yeah. Shiro is having dinner with his grandpa... So basically, It's just gonna be me and Kosmo tonight. No big deal, I guess," he admitted, sounding a bit down.
"Aw, that sucks! I heard your place doesn't have electricity either. You're gonna freeze!" she said, concerned.
"Yeah, but it's just for one night, so I'll survive," he replied in a desperate sigh.
She frowned. "How can you say that? What are you even gonna eat?"
He thought for a moment. "I have no idea... Maybe some leftovers if I can find any."
"Gosh, that sounds kinda sad," she said, her worry evident.
"Don't worry too much about it. It's just one night in my life," he reassured her.
"I'm not letting you go through this alone! Come to my place! My mom's cooking dinner tonight, and her food is amazing. Don't tell Hunk, but her cookies are even better than his!" she exclaimed with a mischievous grin.
"I don't wanna be a bother... It's a family dinner," he replied, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Who said that it was a family dinner? You're not bothering us at all. I'm sure my family would be happy to have you with us tonight. My dad used to say that we have the family we're born into and the family we choose. I guess you're part of my chosen family," she said, smiling warmly at him. "Come on, join us!"
He thought for a moment but obviously could not say no to these eyes that were staring at him... He sighed. "Fine, I'll come."
"YAY! Did you hear that, Kosmo? You're coming home with me!" she exclaimed, scratching the back of Kosmo's ear. "Oh, and by the way, you can crash at my place too. It'll be much nicer for you than going back to the desert and catching a cold before the launch..."
"Huh... I'm not sure about that..."
"Aw, come on! Just think about it and let me know later, okay? I'll quickly text my mom to let her know you're coming for dinner. We just have to wait for my dad to finish up some stuff at the Garrison before to leave."
He nodded in agreement, realizing that his plans had taken a complete 180 in less than five minutes, all because of this short, nerdy girl who he found it hard to take his eyes off of. She was actually really pretty, even if others didn't see it. He noticed the beautiful amber color of her hair, eyes, and freckles, and he found it absolutely fascinating. And not just her looks, her personality was captivating too. She had this introverted side but always stood up for herself, and she had so many other amazing qualities that it would take forever to list them all.
To put it simply, she was a smart and beautiful girl with a vibrant spirit and a huge heart. And boy, was she courageous!
How could he not admire her? Heck, how could he not ADORE her?
But despite all that, she was the Paladin he felt the least close to. They had been through a lot together, but they never really had the chance to get to know each other well. He had a unique bond with each of the other Paladins. Shiro was like a big brother to him, Lance started by being annoying but became a friendly annoyance over time (they had known each other for a while, but Keith never really minded him), and he had a few missions with Hunk where they bonded... (Keith also knew Hunk at the Garrison, but just like Lance, he had never minded before...) He even had bonding moments with Allura!
