Instead of living the life of his dreams, Adrian was dragged into criminality which didn't end well for him ("Tell me now were you digging for gold// Or digging yourself in a hole?")

The word "jaded" is pretty interesting here. It means bored or lacking enthusiasm usually after having too much of something. However, it's also Irish slang for being physically tired or exhausted. In this context, it could be Adrian saying he's bored of being Alastor's pet as much as he denies it...but also physically tired of it.

It isn't Adrian's dream job but surely he can learn to embrace it...right?
