Do you think there’s a song that only Michael knows? Like a song so old that even with his perfect memory he can’t remember the entire melody or where exactly he heard it, but he hums it to himself all the time at his most loneliest. And it should bother him this hole in his memory but it doesn’t matter cause Michael’s so hurt and the song brings so much comfort.

Like Michael is the first thing God made that stuck, that wasn’t swallowed whole by his ever loving sister. And there was a moment, just a second, where it was just the two of them. When Michael wasn’t a brother and God was just a father, maybe God would hold him close and hum an unfinished song of creation to soothe him. The only sources of light in overwhelming darkness.

His first son, his greatest weapon.

Neither God or Michael remember this; Michael’s got siblings that need taking care of and It’s been a long time since God was a father.

But maybe in their umpteenth year in the cage, when they’ve huddled together after a particularly bad day, Michael starts humming a half remembered melody and when Adam asks him where it came from as goes the game they play, for the first time Michael confesses he doesn’t know.

And just maybe, on the other side of the plane, when Chuck’s writing a new chapter of his latest novel, deep in thought contemplating the relationships of fathers and sons; he starts humming a half remembered song in response and wonders where he heard it.

Ohhhh love this. I think what I really need is just for Mihawk to go feral. Like I can see it babe, you can hide behind this mask of eternal indifference but I can see that you are just one wrong comment away from going on a wine fueled rampage.

BloodTide Au

In this Au instead of Blackbeard capturing and turning in Ace, he somehow manages to massacre the Red Hair Pirates and brings in the head of Shanks.

This event is managed to be kept so under wraps that Mihawk only finds out because at the warlord meeting to announce a new warlord, Shanks' decapitated head is placed at the end of the table opposite him.

Mihawk gazes into the dead, empty eyes of his husband. Someone is speaking but Mihawk does not hear a single word. There is only ringing, ringing, ringing. And then, he remembers his vows.

“Akagami Shanks, I swear by the Wind and Waves, I will love you everyday I draw breath, and for ever more after. Should any tear you from me in Eternity, I shall fight till the tides run crimson.

Yoru strikes the ground, the shock moving up his arm. Blood from the cowardly whelp splatters his face, as the two halves of the bastard fall to the ground.

Shouting erupts after a moment of silence, but Mihawk doesn’t listen. For the Red Emperor is dead, and the BloodTide Rises.

Quick question for fanfic writers.

I would like to post little snippets from fanfics, with full credits and links of course, nothing that would ruin the plot of the fic just little quotes and stuff that has really affected me like people do with books and poetry.

And I guess would that be okay? I don’t write fanfiction myself but I consume alot of it and I would hate to make anyone uncomfortable. So I’d thought I’d get a consensus before I did anything.

So yeah thoughts?

I can imagine him saying this to Mihawk trying to recruit him, trying to justify himself and his actions to a man that has never felt the need to justify any singular action he has ever taken in his life and was already going to join soley on the grounds he’d get paid to fuck up the marines day and a good bottle of wine.

Or even just saying it offhandedly to Daz Bones, his most loyal servant, as a kind of unneeded explanation during the initial planning of Alabaster’s down fall.

I haven't abandoned this story. I just put it on the back burner for now. The story is just on a small vacation. It is currently out of office. It can't come to the phone right now. It just fell under my bed to sleep with the monsters. It never left my head. It is everywhere - except on paper.
