PSA: podcasts can cause art block and burnout
it takes mental energy to listen to a podcast while drawing! sometimes its good if you need noise BUT IF YOU DO IT ALL THE TIME IT CAN BE OVERWHELMING please ! work in silence every now and then! if not then take breaks where you sit in silence! stop listening to something all the time ! give your brain some breathing room!

You know what i will also accept this headcannon.

you can tell the undertale fandom is genetically related to the homestucks because "let papyrus say fuck day" exists. I believe that is a recessive gene. Admit it undertale. Admit your father was an 8 thousand page webcomic run by a basket case. search your feelings, you know it's true.
also reblogging this too because the artists on this hellsite do not get enough attention and love
SPEEEEEEEEEEENNNN

GET THE HELL OFF OF ME!!!
I don't think this is that deep.

like they could have lived either at the capital or the ruins. Its big news sure but I don't think its that intense either.
a visual representation of me having a mental breakdown over hair

I want to draw a cartoony character with fluffy hair but i want this character to be compatible with beautiful rendering where I can add shines to the hair. I am like america's test kitchen but for fucking digital art at this point lol here is me aggressively analyzing how other cartoons draw hair and having a mental breakdown on my tablet enjoy-

here is an older test I worked on ages ago Overall my "daytime " shading improved, meanwhile my older version of "strong light at night" is better than the new one (even if the blur is a tad excessive) I think what i really need to do is improve the method i do to draw hair. It is an archaic and outdated version of how i drew hair back when i was still a new artist where i just kinda winged it rather than planning the sections of hair. overall: this hair design is not terrible. it is mid at worst. If this character were in a silly cartoon it would be serviceable But the problem goes when I actually want to shade hair glints on the hair, because shading the hair glints actually require me to understand the form of the hair and how it works.

If you look at this image, its very clear where the shines of the hair are. They are ususally facing the same direction and they have a consistent flow. I painted the hair glints blue so that you understand what i mean better. Anyways, when you want to APPLY that to a more cartoony hair like this hair, its hard because the hair design I use tends to be more chaotic and has less form due to me not taking the hair shape in relation to the skull into account when designing the hair. so:
New goal
Re-design the hair so it is both anatomically correct but also remains cartoony. the hair is made up of bangs, base, and sideburns/side cut. If i could make an easy to understand science with this, then perhaps i can design a better and faster method to make hair. Stay tuned folks!
Drawing practice, sunny day and night time lights

lol it looks like a bootleg Andy Warhol painting for real though i think i am going to re-design the hair so it can be shaded in a way that makes more sense.
