Dude I've had this same thought for soooooo long like omg

something i really love thinking about is kurama having a moment with his mom where she finds out hes dating hiei, and she tells him that she accepts him being gay and nothing could make her stop loving him.

and kurama really appreciates hearing that, it makes him happy. but he cant help but feel saddened by it too, because he thinks theres no way it could actually be true. that couldnt apply for if she ever discovers who- what he actually is. a demon who took over the body of her son. some ridiculous human taboo of being gay completely pales in comparison to all the awful, selfish shit hes done in his life.

then a situation occurs where she finds out about his demon identity, and kurama is absolutely terrified of her rejection. but it doesnt come. because hes still the boy she raised, loves, and cares for. hes still the boy that gifts her flowers every year on her birthday. the boy who was absolutely heartbroken when she was nearly on her deathbed. the boy who is always trying to take care of her when its her job to do that for him. hes her son- human or demon- and shell always love him.
