ucius (my wol) has a childhood friend named Marius (who, interestingly, is the son of his mother's friend). Marius is a hyur/viera hybrid, an adventurer who wants to prove himself and his immortality is named Lucius as he is his personal healer, creating a somewhat chaotic dynamic of healer and tank, filled with misunderstandings that bring out the saltiest side of poor Lucius, while Marius must learn to be a leader for the party they are forming in their new adventure.

It wasn't so much about rehabilitation to me, than exploiting what was already here. He truly believed what he said, and truly believed that the empire would guide the weak, and take everything as theirs. He didn't pay lips service to the equal opportunity. He actually acted as everyone under him, no matter the races, was his, and if they showed the strength, they would reach the places they should. Still an idiot, and pseudo-fascist, but also fair and keeping to his morale code. (As is, he had one, and stuck to it until he was forced to reevaluate due to betrayal)

Also, I think his tactic got fucked over because of the political tension in Garlemald. He was basically left alone with no real order nor back up in Eorza. So, you know. Having an army is great, but you still need to feed them, fuel the machines and the weapons, and pay them.

In a way, he's the greedy shepard. Make everything yours, every lands, every people, every family and dreams. How dare you touch what's mine?! My lands, my people, my family, my dreams, my hopes.

ffxiv's story - while quite good and downright incredible in places - is not perfect, and i think possibly their biggest misstep was trying to rehab the image of gaius baelsar, a man we're expected and encouraged to spend multiple days a week listening to spout unskippable fascist bullshit before summarily kicking his ass, and ESPECIALLY to position him as some kind of intimidating military genius, considering most players' formative memories would be him botching an invasion and getting played for a chump, leading to most of his men dying

was thinking about this earlier, i think it's fuckin stupid that speech to text software, subtitles, etc censor curse words by default. disabled people are not children, we can handle curse words of all fuckin things

and while we're at it, aac software should include curse words, again many aac users are not children and deserve the same options for communicating as speaking people do

I've been thinking about something and realized I could make a poll. FFXIV people who play healers:

Making this because I don't heal in dungeons since I don't enjoy basically only staring at the tank's health bar during mob pulls. But I really love healing through alliance raids and other content, and am a healer in savage. And turns out many people are scared of healing alliance raids while doing dungeons just fine.
