What I liked about the book was that Sheenaz was very cocky and wayward. But yes, for some reason it also seems to me that this is a song by Essi Daven. Especially if you take into account her sad story
"A Little Sacrifice" is now a permanent part of my music playlist, and every time I hear it, I'm reminded of how great it actually is.
I didn't understand it until I finally got around to reading (listening) to the actual books, at which point the song blew my mind.
It's so Jaskier of him to change the real story to a more romantic, moving one.
Like... in the book, the siren was a mermaid, and the mermaid ended up leaving the sea for her love; a duke. But that's not nearly as emotionally moving as a prince unwittingly sacrificing himself to a siren after he (presumably) fell victim to her song.
I just have so much respect for the layers of thought that went into writing A Little Sacrifice for the series, and I think about it every time I hear the song.
