when my 10th grade speech coach assigned me to do an expository address for my solo event because he "thought [I] would have something interesting [I] would want to talk about"

when my 9th grade speech coach wrote a script for our readers theatre and created each character specifically for each one of us and she made mine obsessed with music

me, now in college, aware that I am neurodivergent, prone to infodumping, and my biggest special interest is music:

the character wanted to write a symphony and that's not really my vibe (although I've dabbled in musical composition before) i just really like listening to music and watching music videos and am a frequent visitor of lyric websites not only do i really like listenint to music but i Need to Know Things about songs and their creators and i really really really want to tell everyone else about these things i only figured out that this is probably a special interest like 2 months ago tho.... girl how did you figure it out also i was actually really lost on what to give the expository address on and ended up doing pie (mostly its history) neurodivergent infodumping special interests high school speech high school theatre

I started my period like 5 hours after posting this so that may have been another false alarm

good news guys I think the seasons are actually fr finally going to spring instead of just going back and forth (source: my foot hurts)

arthritis arthritic actually arthritic disability seasons periods menstruation bc like swelling and stuff correct me if I'm wrong but i think periods don't always mess up every physical function (tho there are a lot) but they do mess with stuff that impacts my arthritis

Going from being a "Gifted" kid to being a "Can Barely Remember What Material We're Going Over" kid in just a few years still feels like whiplash

haha yeah i don't have epilepsy but i do have ptsd and thought disorder thought disorder is basically what it sounds like (my thoughts are disordered) it's also probably a symptom of something else but idk what and bc the people who tested me didn't either for me it mostly means i have a really hard time holding things in my brain and manipulating them and my ptsd tires my brain out and makes this worse this Not Good for my academic career whenever we read and discuss something in class i always enter the discussion with 'i forgot' because i did genuinely forget already but it feels really bad. even though it's the truth and i can't help it it still feels like i'm not taking things seriously but I am well anyways i hope all us gifted to burnt-out memory-shot kids get through it somehow disability
