okay hear me out, i imagine this is what pineapple looks like normally, i know it doesn’t fit his namesake but when i read the fifteenth book this was somehow what i pictured him as? i think it’s a cool contrast of grey scale with yellow personally

BOOK COVER OH EM GEE :3 i drew the original sketch of this at church, all of my best drawings happen at church🤔 but anywayyyyy here it is! since her lore mixes in with the main line i chose her book to take its place in the series as book 7 mostly because i don’t like winter that much… his character development is crazy! don’t get me wrong, he’s just not my favorite so out of arc 2 i decided to remove one and replace it with mine :3

also, i didn’t draw the fish and stuff i took them from google 😅

what if and hear me out here… Ruby is timid because @teethwitheyes101-blog was right about their head cannon and people look down on her for having the “weak fire” coloring? and so hear me out on this next one BUT. (scroll past the next picture)

tourmaline has one of the stronger fire colors in scale indications that teeth with eyes has supplied us with, so that’s why she was the stronger daughter who was hold and brave, because also scarlet has the scale colors right in the middle of ruby and tourmaline, btw !!SPOILERS FOR ESCAPING PERIL!!, so closer to the end of the book when it’s discovered that Ruby is actually tourmaline with a spell over her earring maybe just maybe it was so that way none of Scarlets kids would be brave enough to challenge her? because if tourmaline had stronger fire than Scarlet, Scarlet would be aware of the fact tourmaline would have much more strength than Scarlet did, so she killed the original Ruby and then the spell on the earring made “Ruby” believe she had never been any other dragon but Ruby, that way Scarlet did not have to die from her stronger daughter before she got the chance to be queen for the rest of her life and “Ruby” thought she was too weak to challenge her mom, so she lived obediently, then we break into the point when scarlet and “Ruby” are about to fight over who gets to be queen “Ruby” isn’t willing to do assuming she would never win, but as SOON as she gets to be Tourmaline again she’s confident in her strength and beats Scarlet resulting in the evil queens death, just think about it! Scarlet had an animus at the time when she had that earring made and she had two daughters one of which could have very well been able to kill her! and scarlet had already shown a willing to kill her kids, so with her last two kids what if she was so power hungry that she decided to off her weakest of the two then make the strong one believe she was weak rather than just having someone kill Tourmaline for her? also clearly Scarlet has a way powerful ego so she most likely would literally never been willing to hire an assassin rather than do the dirty work herself! also! she would want to kill her much stronger daughter while making a spectacle of it, she would want everyone to see it, but she couldn’t do that if she had a definite disadvantage! so as a summary, scarlet totally killed the real ruby because she was weak, made tourmaline (who is much stronger fire) believe that she WAS ruby for her whole life so that scarlet could be queen even longer!

this is long and possibly a yap sesh BUT i was looking for cool WOF aus to read through and teeth with eyes’ art came up making me think of the leaked pictures of the escaping peril graphic novel and how Ruby is darker in color than everyone imagined which gave me this whole thing that ive typed out :3 tbh i was originally looking for motivation to write my own AU but then this happened 😅 but this is so much more fun bro

apologies for the yapping but no one irl that i know likes wof like i do so you guys get to suffer my ideas 😭

what if seawings jumped out of the water like this? because theyre pretty hefty and theyd use their tails which are described as powerful to swim so i mean what if when they wanted to catch a bird or fly out of the water they did this and for flying spread their wings and to catch birds or whatever they just fall back in? i think thats a cool thought :D

INLOVE THE OCEAN SO MUCH OMG

it’s so pretty!!! i love love love it! seawings are one of my favorite dragons because they live in the ocean after all but anyway

BELUGAS.

I HATE THEM.

they’re so creepy. they make me mad 😭 i’m watching one of those ocean videos that records sea animals in aquariums and stuff, they’re showing belugas as i type this. THEYRE SO WEIRD. the way they look when they swim just makes me so freaking mad and uncomfortable and genuinely upset. they want to be whales so bad but jokes on them they got a big giant head a small mouth and ugly way too long bodies. ICK. they look so weird and bony and ew ew ew.

in darkstalker Indigo was so real for preferring to think of Fathoms “beluga” as a dolphin. those guys have horror stories sure but they’re like a billion trillion times cuter and cooler looking than belugas. the video is playing dolphins not in-fact, they’re just so much better than belugas 🥰 if i had to pick one animal to remove from the earth without any consequences i would pick beluga. they might be cool and all to some of yall but i would live my life gladly knowing that belugas had never existed, actually no i wouldn’t BECAUSE THEY WOULDNT EXIST 😡😡

a seawing using aquatic!! over the summer i kept thinking about that one wof artist who’s oc wears skulls and i was like wow so neat, and i like whales so like why not draw a seawing with a whale skull helmet? so here it is!! i added color today so it was more appealing to your eyes 😁

ECLIPSE :3 i’m keeping their name for the time being (because i never came up w a better one and drew a ton of pictures of them with their current name…) but whatever :p i printed off a joy ang nightwing reference and used it to draw eclipse in my notebook :) i had to take a picture of the drawing and trace it but that was mostly for the colors 😊

possible hot take (Ive rarely interacted with the wof fandom till getting tumblr so i don’t know) but GOSH do i hate secretkeeper.

I know that she was trying to keep moon safe from the horrible nightwing island but hiding moon in a log in the middle of the rain forest? that just sounds awful, moon as a baby dragonet could’ve been eaten or harmed by animals that at the time were bigger than her, in *The Flames of Hope* when moon shares her story to convince freedom to let Luna and Dusky go we see that moon literally had to talk herself up to go get bananas. for any dragon with a normal life in the rain forest they would see a banana and maybe think “oh i’m hungry i’m gonna go get a banana!” but Moonwatcher had to tell herself that she would be okay if she went to get the bananas since her mom wasn’t there to go get them for her.

I admire secretkeepers determination to keep moon safe and healthy but i HATE how much it caused moon to grow up alone, through almost all her life, it affects moon socially and emotionally, Sectetkeeper told her to “stay secret stay hidden stay safe” so with the “stay secret” secretkeeper told moon that it would be dangerous if her mind reading powers were known among other dragons, but clearly it wasn’t because moons friends pretty quickly accept that moon can hear their thoughts (yes they do enjoy that moon was blocked out with the sky fire but still) so that means moon lived afraid of her powers being known for no reason

“stay hidden” moon was terrified of interacting with the students of Jade Mountain Academy because moon had only ever known her mother and then the rude nightwings that moved into the rainforest yes the dragonets of destiny too but they were busy with the school and holding up a whole kingdom so she really only had sunny and starflight, there wasn’t much secretkeeper could have done about this one since it would’ve meant loosing moon or possibly having to keep moon on the island so i’m not too mad about this one i guess

“stay safe” this is a good lesson yes but the way secretkeeper told moon this lesson was by showing her all the horrible things that could happen to her, that’s what really soils my mood too because moon was a happy dragonet sleeping next to her mother when she had hatched but when secretkeeper had to leave she filled baby moons mind with images of all the horrid things that could happen if moon didn’t stay hidden, moon was barely hatched that’s a horrible thing to do to your baby honestly

secretkeeper had good intentions yes but her execution was terrible and i feel like that’s what makes moon sometimes come off as too shy and a liar

Eclipse just got a whole redesign and a new name :} i’m still not sure what name exactly but to be accurate to their lore i know i want to do something oceanic but also a bit spacey? their lore has this whole deal where their egg gets lost in the ocean and they live in the ocean bla bla and eventually meet queen coral who gives them a name it’s this whole thing i came up with in 6th-7th grade so no new name yet but soon enough

the old design is obviously in the top corner, i decided to give a more sweet older sibling feeling design as compared to the more cartoony design i gave in the past, this is also the second redesign they’ve been given this month 💀

now i want to talk about their appearance, they’re a nightwing but you can see there’s a seawing sail on their neck and back as well as having slightly washed out scales, this is due to the fact they grew up in the ocean, we know commonly throughout history that animals who lived on land that moved to the ocean had physical changes that helped them survive their new climate so it only makes sense for us to see that same change in dragons so i figured the most noticeable change would be the webbing on the chest and back as well as more washed scales that look dim in some places from ocean currents brushing against them where the water wouldn’t usually touch them if they lived on land like they were made to, there’s also the fact the dragon in question would be better at swimming holding their breath the whole nine yards as compared to their land living counterparts so that’s why Eclipses (using the old name will help me w this) got this appearance as it would make sense we would see this change because of real world biology/ history or whatever the right label for this is

this angle is really awkward to work with for me tbh 🥲 like the eyes gave me so much hell i didn’t want to make tsunami look like she was looking in two different spots since she’s supposed to be looking behind her specifically but i just never really felt satisfied with them tbh

also i probably should have attempted to draw the whole panel but doing the bodies of these guys is hard and i really only do headshots but this looks like tsunami so it works 🙏🙏
