Surprise! You Guys Are Getting Theme Park OC Lore Today!
Surprise! You guys are getting ✨Theme Park OC lore✨ today!
I wanted to make a post explaining the setup of what I like to call the "Parkverse," which is the name of the universe in which my theme park OCs reside! All information that I write about the Parkverse will be found under the tag #Parkverse!
(⚠️Potential trigger warning for the brief mentioning body horror - stay safe, y'all's!⚠️)
In the Parkverse, every single ride in the world is accompanied by what's called a "Ride Spirit." It's the very soul a ride which is created by and powered via the magic that is made from the memories made by parkgoers. Usually, the most powerful of Ride Spirits (or just Spirits for short) are those that are born from roller coasters, otherwise known as Coaster Spirits. It's the Coaster Spirits that I'll be mainly focusing on.
Every Coaster Spirit will choose a "Representative" (sometimes called a "Guardian" or "Host" depending on the park), which is a human that the Spirit decides to share its magic with via a process called "Bonding." Once the person is Bonded to the coaster, they gain access to magic themed to the theme of the roller coaster as well as a psychic bond to the Coaster Spirit itself, able to both communicate directly with the ride and be used as a vessel for the ride to communicate with others (more or less possession lol).
Every Representative also has access to what's called a "Ride-Realized" form, which is the a term used to describe how a Rep's body will transform in order to better accommodate larger levels of magic. Ride-Realized forms are usually only used by Reps during special events or if the park needs defending, as there's usually some body horror involved. Some Reps will elect to adopt certain features of their Realized form in everyday life, or alternatively will only use certain Realized features when needed rather than going fully Ride-Realized when not needed. This is referred to as a "Partially Realized" form, and the term can be used to describe a wide range of different forms & features so long as they're somewhere between a regular human form and a fully Ride-Realized form.
And that's all I got for now! If you want to find my characters, they'll be under the tag #Disaster's OCs, while character introductions will be under the tag #Character Intros! I hope you have a great rest of your day & thank you for reading my ramble! If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask!

Not exactly Kings Island-related by any means, but can we take a moment to talk about how beautiful Blackjack looks in this Steel Vengeance commercial?
Here's the commercial btw in case you wanted to view this surprisingly well-animated masterpiece:

BLACKJACK, NO!!! DON'T WEAR YOUR HAT ON A ROLLER COASTER!!! YOU'RE GONNA LOSE IT!!!
It appears that the Hatchetfield series has officially become a hyperfixation, so don't be surprised if you get jumpscared with Starkid any time soon while trying to look at roller coasters on here XD
Prepare thyselves for SeaWorld posts soon! I've ridden Journey to Atlantis, Mako, and Manta so far and I can't wait to get on everything else!!!
(I'll give you guys a list of the coasters I've ridden today at the end of the day!)

The entire time I was in the queue for this ride, the main thought going through my mind was "this doesn't feel real." I've been following the entire construction process of this coaster since it was pretty much first announced, and I've seen the animated POV so many times that when I was watching it go by with real people in it, it almost looked fake. It wasn't until I was sitting in the train myself that it truly hit me that this thing was REAL and I was getting to ride it after all of that time watching it get built. And it was so much fun!
10/10 family coaster in my opinion. Vekoma made a damn good ride and Kings Island put in some damn good theming! You can't see it in any of these photos, but there's a moving Snoopy figure waving a green flag over top of the station at the first lift, so that's pretty awesome. Also the station audio telling you to keep your limbs in the train and stuff is essentially a race commentary! I feel honored to call this ride my 31st coaster credit!
