Do you trust a Trump appointee not to abuse this enforcement power?

(next line) KOSA author, Senator Marsha Blackburn, said she introduced KOSA in part - and I quote - "to protect minor children from the transgender in our society." The Heritage Foundation proudly said they'll apply pressure through KOSA to block information about abortion, reproductive health, & LGBTQ issues.

(next line) Vote NO on KOSA."

Gonna Be Honest Here.

This KOSA bill thing is scaring me. If it goes through.... I may not be able to live without it. Tumblr is where all of my friends are. This is the only place where I feel like people understand me. Everyone on here, especially all of my moots, is so supportive and kind.

It feels like home to me now. A kid who has went through their whole life was searching for a place to be accepted. And they found it here. That kid is me.

I cannot imagine how much worse my mental health would be if I did not have all of you supporting me. To take you guys away from me, would be like taking away love itself. This place is the only place that I have ever been fully accepted for who I am. There are people who send random hugs for no reason. People who share my interests and roleplay with me. People who check in through DMs if I seem to be in distress. People who seem to be defined by their kindness.

We need to stop KOSA!!!! There are people like me out there, for whom Tumblr is their home! We need our safe space, to protect it at all costs! Reblog if you are with me....

FOR OUR TUMBLR!!!!

Stop KOSA.

I know, I don't this stuff, but I keep on seeing this everywhere and not gonna lie, it's f r e a k i n g me out. I think we all know what KOSA is at this point, it's a bill that will restrict almost everything that we know in this time.(if passed, of course.) Information that will help our queer friends, help us express ourselves, and just genuinely know more about the world, gone. I just don't get it. It's the twentieth century, people can date the same gender or not have to choose at all. Everything can and will happen. So why hold on to the past, where everything has to be black and white? Why keep holding this gate closed? Free will, free speech- It exists. Hell, America's literally called 'The Land of the Free.' Act on it. Passing KOSA won't keep us safe. If a five-year-old can cuss, that's on the parent for not monitoring them. The internet is a vast place with it's ups and downs, and just because some little down might affect you does not mean you have to stomp all pissy on our lawns and subsequently ruin what we take joy in. The U.S. does not own the whole internet, it's all over the world. We've got one more day. So spread the word. Get this trending. Reblog it. Just- Do whatever you can. I don't want this bill passed just as much as the others who've reacted to other posts. The toll it will take on the internet will be devestating- And I don't want to live in a future where all wells of knowledge are locked away. Speak up, speak out.

I cannot stress enough how dangerous KOSA is.

killing safe spaces endangers people's lives. many minors and people in marginalized groups losing online friends and spaces can and will kill many people's happiness and in the worst case, the will to live.

I personally keep going because of my online friends. I will lose them if KOSA passes.

this is the same case for many minors (and adults) online.

censoring sexual health will be terrible for many. if there are people out there having sex without knowing the proper safety precautions to take to prevent injury/illness, it will be massively horrific.

all outcry for a ceasefire in Palestine and activism will be censored to oblivion.

if there are people who live in unsafe households, they might never be able to find safety until they become adults, which is far too late.

KOSA is a sick attempt to make the internet a place where there are few ways to be safe.

stop KOSA. it will literally save fucking lives.

sign petitions to stop it. please. spread awareness.

If this doesn’t anger you enough to take action, then I don’t know what to tell you. If you care about having freedom on the internet then this should be like your ‘call to action’. I don’t even know how a bill like this could even be passed anyway because it literally violates our first amendment rights? And to go back to the video, it makes it hard to push out content about activism as well as creating safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ youth. Please share this video and call your reps aswell as signing petitions.
