Hi, Sorry I'm Looking For Help W An Ao3 Thing And The Subreddit Is Closed And You Seem Fairly Knowledgeable
hi, sorry i'm looking for help w an ao3 thing and the subreddit is closed and you seem fairly knowledgeable so hopefully you don't mind me putting this in your askbox haha
is there a way to search for fics with relationships involving a certain character? obviously you can filter for specific relationships, but if you don't particularly care *what* the pairing is as long as it has character x in it, is there a way to do that?
my problem is i'm stuck in ensemble character hell, and so often fics tagged with that character feature them only in the background. whereas (generally) if a character is tagged in a relationship then it's much more likely that they'll be in the main focus.
so is there a search function that will turn up fics tagged x/y AND x&y AND x/y/z and so on?
This Reddit thread may be of some use to you.
Currently there is no surefire way to search specifically for all ship options involving one character at once, but there are several ways you can somewhat navigate the search function in order to achieve something similar. There are some instructions for this on the thread, but there is also the AO3 Hidden Search Operator Cheatsheet.

Oh yeah the WC fandom is fucking insane.
There's a very popular fanartist who has an OC that's a villain and people were harassing her because her villain is a white cat in a clan of black cats, and she was bullied and abused by them for her fur color.
People were literally accusing her of being a racist because "The white cat is being abused by the black cats, the artist is clearly saying that black people are evil and violent and want to victimize white people!"
The artist literally based the dynamic on how crows will ostracize birds in their flock that have albinism and people were going, "Why did she have to do this story with cats? Why not just do it with crows? Kind of sus :/"
Like,,, hello? What? It's fine if the story is about birds, but if it's about cats, it's racist? How does that make any fucking sense.

Replicating a celebrity's tattoos and personal, custom jewellery is incredibly weird, invasive, parasocial and disrespectful.
People should not have to beg you not to copy tattoos they got to honor their dead parents or copyright jewellery they made for their significant others. People should not have to constantly cover and hide their bodies to prevent people from copying their personal body art.
Its not cute. Its not harmless. Its not sweet, or a way to connect to them, or be close to them. Its not 'whatever.'
Its creepy. Invasive. Disrespectful.
Imagine you go through the process of losing a loved one and designing a piece of art meant to represent them and mourn them and continue their life on your body and one day some random stranger comes up to you and shoved that same tattoo on their body in your face and brags about how they got it done because they just love you so much and thought it was so cool.
If you still think its just a harmless little way of showing love or something, I really don't know what else to say to you. Its fucked up. Its gross.
Absolutely hilarious to block someone who's harassing me and being an asshole in my ask box then check and see my follower count has gone down by 1.
The wolf was in the sheep pen, my dudes.
I hate photos of weight loss where people are holding their breath, sucking in their stomachs and posing like contortionists to make themselves look like they've lost considerably more than they have or that their whole body has been re-comped.
Everyone else is praising the "results" and "miraculous change" while I'm sat there like "please breathe and unclench before you get a cramp."
Feminism leaves my body every time I see a girl using the 'uwu sweater paws' during a video.
Especially cooking videos, painting, ect. Like yessss girl its so adorable that your sleeves are dragging all through the sauce 🥺
