hi, i have for the longest time been confused about the whole proshipping stuff snd you seem to know a lot so i figured I'd ask you. what exactly counts as proshipping? Ive seen people say different things, and i have wondered if one of my ships is included since some people believe its abusive(it is at the end of the franchise) but i dont really know if people count that as proshipping or not

Anyway sorry if this is a stupid question im just so out of the loop with this stuff

Proshipping means: "ship and let ship", so here's not only problematic or abusive ships in that term. I'm not sure enough which ship it is, but probably it's count as proship as well.

hey, by the way, darkshipping, comshipping, all that IS a healthy coping mechanism if it is used in a healthy way.

you can draw your trauma through the characters to vent, you can write a story about a character similar to yours to feel relief and comfort, like you are not alone in your experiences. you can project onto the characters and then glamorize the dark themes to make the trauma seem less scary to you. you can write the most crazy bonkers story with these characters, and all that matters is that you are safe and happy while doing it.

venting through darkships and drawing those darkships is just another form of vent art, and it can even give you a sense of safety knowing its the characters representing your story, instead of it being you in the situation.

victims of grooming, rape, sexual harassment and other deserve respect and support, regardless of how they cope with it. if you feel that you are comfortable enough to share these vent works online, then other people have the right to do so with their trauma shown through characters too. their trauma should be taken just as seriously as others.
