since your aot blurbs requests are open can i ask for an erwin smith x reader and how he'd definitely be private with your relationship but it's no longer a secret when he almost dies and his arm is gone (💀) and the scouts find out and their reactions?

A/N: Started working on this the moment I got the request because one thing I can't get enough of is Erwin Smith. Anyway, this is a bit lengthier than a blurb, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless <3 Thank you for the request and your kind words. I may expand on this some other time, just to write more on the actual interaction between reader and Erwin.

Genre: fluff, tinge of angst if you squint really hard, gn reader

“Did you hear?”

“How didn’t we notice before?”

“-it was right under our noses and we missed it”

“Have you ever seen them-?”

By the sheer volume of their disbelief and glowing eyes, one could easily mistake the situation for what it was. To say it was surprising would be an understatement, even downright shocking to some. For them to not have found out sooner about their Commander’s private affairs was a big deal.   Levi found a great deal of amusement in these sudden rumors and whispers, even entertaining some of them while you were close enough to hear it. To fluster you or irritate you, you couldn’t exactly tell, but he was fanning the flames either way. As he was the only one privy to know of your relationship with Erwin from its start, he became the center target for these sorts of questions while you were cooped up in Erwin’s room.

You almost lost him.. 

His hand rested clasped between the two of yours as he slowly came in and about his consciousness, blinking open slowly only to be met with the observing stares of you and the doctor. He knew you were biting back on a scolding and a whole waterfall of tears, he could tell by that tell-tale twitch of your brows and the light tremor in your fingers that held him like you were his last link to this place. And you were.. 

While the rest of the scouts gossiped and entertained plenty of ideas of their Commander and you, Erwin’s room was filled with gentle sobs and scoldings before it simmered down to smoother conversations. You found yourself glued to his side of the bed, unable to leave unless you saw him consume something, anything. And when he did he came to learn from both you and Levi about these news, but instead of shock or displeasure he found himself chuckling.

“Well.. the cat is out of the bag now. What would be the use of pretending it's not” he smiled, his light stubble giving him a touch of domesticity and something less refined that you scarcely got the chance to witness any other time. He didn’t even try to brush his hair with his fingers, letting you hold him in your grasp, knowing both of you needed it. He looked so himself in that moment, and his bright eyes glistened with tender mirth as he looked over at you.  Maybe if he wasn’t so hellbent on this dream of his, you’d see more of him in this raw light.. but no matter where he chose to tread you swore to follow him.

 He sighed, rubbing his thumb on the skin of your hand, shaking his head a little as he looked down in his lap, losing himself in his thoughts. It would be a lie  to say that this wasn’t something both of you hoped wouldn’t happen, or at least not in this fashion, but neither of you were angry about it. This spared you both some confessions and awkward sappy speeches, so perhaps it could be viewed as a blessing in disguise.

Zhongli

The archon knew just how much you wanted this job, how long you had yearned to make a difference in people's lives, and how much you would sacrifice to reach your dreams. Having ambitions and all is a wonderful thing that he understands drives humans to find fulfillment in their lives, however, he began to notice signs that even he, the geo archon himself, was able to perceive was getting out of hand.

"Dear," Zhongli called out for the third time as you sat at your desk with papers spread out and large books opened. By the fourth time when you had not noticed his presence, the tall male snuck his hands around your body plucking the pencil you held with an iron grip with ease. Shocked, you gasped slightly sitting up and turning to face your lover. You seldom see Zhongli in a state of annoyance, however it was clear as day the way he furrowed his eyebrows and folded his arms.

"My love, I have called your name multiple times now," He said in his deep, honey like voice, "Why don't you take a break?" Zhongli's expression softened, setting the pencil down gently upon the table. You sighed and rubbed your temples, frustration also clear as day upon your features.

"Morax," You sighed, "This is important to me. I HAVE to get this job, If I don't all those years I spent studying and practicing will be for nothing! The exams are coming up and if I don't-" He quickly shushed you by leaning down to your level, grabbing your wrists with his strong hands and pulling them apart, forcing your gaze to look into his own.

"You are avoiding my gaze," He grunted, "Look at you. You have dark circles under your eyes," He began to rub your wrists and eye you up and down, "And you seem to have lost a significant amount of weight. You are not properly taking care of yourself, Come," He pulled you off the chair and began to lead you away from your work, to which you groaned in annoyance however did not protest. You knew deep down you needed some sort of break, and knew better than to avoid your dragon lover any longer.

"Let us take a stroll and make our way to Wanmin restaurant," Zhongli intertwined his fingers with your own, "Take a break. Humans are fragile creatures, you must take care of yourself, my love." You bit your bottom lip and sighed in defeat, leaning your tired body against his strong lean one.

"Alright," You exasperated with a slight smile upon your lips, "You win. I will take a short break, but after I need to go back to-" Zhongli spun you around, one arm wrapping around your waist while using his other one to tilt your chin to look into his mesmerizing golden brown eyes. His lips inched closer to you and with a sultry voice hushed and intimate, your face flushed a bright shade of red with his bold statement;

"I am not doing this just for you, my precious glaze lily," He pointed out, "I have also been neglected in the time you have spent away to your studies. I'm afraid I will have to put a pause in your schedule for the rest of the day, for I am not letting you go so easily."

Artem

Artem was always known to be stoic and strict, consistently instilling pressure upon his subordinates. Yet it was obvious he held clear favoritism for one particular person- you.

You were dedicated from the start, you held similar views to him, your heart of gold shining brighter than anyone else in the office. From the moment you stepped into his life, he knew you were the one for him. He hadn't realized his very position was cause for your distress- he is all you wished to be; A successful, young, talented, well-put-together lawyer. The pressure seemed to turn up as exams came close for you, however thankful for the support Artem had given to you, recent struggles came to the surface throwing you into a string of all-nighters, missed meals, and increasingly short and frequent naps on your desk had become more and more apparent to your boyfriend.

He tapped against your desk to gain your attention, yet your concentration was left unwavering.

"Let me finish this chapter," You sighed, jotting down yet another note, "I don't have it perfected yet..." Artem pursed his lips in worry and set his hand above your own, causing you to set down your pencil and look up at the blue-eyed man.

"You said that an hour ago," He said gently, "You had promised we would have a date today, do you recall?" You bit your bottom lip, letting out a shaky sigh and nodding.

"I know I did- but the exams are coming up so fast and I'm so unprepared, I have to-" you were quickly interrupted by Artem spinning the chair around for you to fully face him, his arms caging each side of your head as his forehead pressed against yours gently.

"I appreciate your dedication, and it's good to work hard for your goals. But..." His hand moved to trail your face, "You're pale and tired. It's just as important to rest," He muttered, now using both of his hands to trail your cheeks. You felt tears prick the side of your eyes and a frown deepen upon your features, Artem's eyes widening slightly at the sudden display of vulnerability. There you spilled your heart, how tired you were of feeling so far behind in life, feeling unaccomplished and unworthy of his love. How tired you were of spending sleepless nights trying to catch up, tired of losing motivation for a job you had dreamed of having for years yet seemed too far to actually reach.

"(y/n)..." He choked up, "..Come. Let's...take a break, together. Okay?" He ran a warm bath for you, cooking a nutritious meal and bundling up the couch with pillows and blankets as he set up your favorite movie/tv series. When you came out freshly clean and seeing all of your favorite foods and your favorite person set up in the living room, his arms opened wide for you to snuggly fit between his legs and lean against his back. Artem trailed kisses against the back of your ear to your neck, his black hair tickling the side of your face.

"Today is a day for a break and rejuvenation, and tomorrow, I will help you with your studies, okay? We will go over the parts you're struggling with together. You have a good drive, and a beautiful heart. That's what made me fall in love with you. Do not feel the need to struggle alone, I will always be here for you through thick and thin. Do not doubt that ever again, okay? Caring for your mind and body is just as important as work, your body and your mind does a lot for you, take care of them, my love."

And as he sits there he loses count of how many times he caught himself carding his fingers through his hair, smoothing the hairs back over and over again. In this shadow of war where peace could be play-pretend for at least this hour, his attention didn’t lay on the food being brought in nor his fellow comrades sitting around him and spitting jokes. No, his eyes were always drawn to your table. Your dirty field uniform was replaced by a clean garb, your hair brushed through and your skin finally free from dust and specs of blood. And for all he’s known, he has never been this attentive to anyone else. Never noticed this minute of details on them unless it was on an enemy that he planned to exploit. 

Good grief..

Has it always been this way with you? Have his thoughts always been plagued with your safety, health, looks, mood? - And when his heavy gaze had gotten noticeable he drowned in his cup to avoid answering anyone’s questions, diverting their attention elsewhere before they picked up on it. “I’m going on a walk”, it was all he could say as the lump in his throat threatened to suffocate him, leaving the table in longer strides. Under the veil of his cold facade he felt his warm blood flowing faster, his heart pacing at a speed he didn’t expect at such a merry occasion. And when the cold wind caressed his exposed skin he placed a calloused hand over his heart, feeling the thump under his hand. The air felt freezing in comparison to his skin. His cheeks are heavy with the need to.. smile?  God knows he will never admit it with that stubborn mule head of his that could rival Erwin’s own hard-headedness. Yet he could not deny it, not even for a moment. Levi could swear high and love and pretend he feels nothing but bloodlust but his own body would betray him every time.

So just for a moment of hope, of respite and loneliness under the moon’s gentle glow, in this gentle night breeze- he allows himself to feel. To experience this feeling of fondness he shares for you.  

“Love..” he thinks, the thought bittersweet on his tongue.

reiner is a very sweet guy. despite his muscular and tall frame, he’s such a sweet and harmless man. super duper romantic as well.

he buys you flowers all the time, just because you’re dating doesn’t mean that he’s going to stop because he won’t. even on just an average tuesday he has a huge bouquet of handpicked flowers just 4 u. he’s absolutely head over heels in love with you. he’ll do anything and everything for his pretty girl to be happy.

if you’re feeling sad he’s right there, he’ll rub your shoulders and massage your feet asking you what’s wrong, he’ll be completely affected by your mood too. if you’re sad then he’s 10x more sad. and when you finally tell him what’s wrong he’s all over you telling you it’ll be okay and he’ll help make it all better. and he doesn’t fail to make it better.

he buys whatever he possibly thinks will make you feel better. food, clothes, perfumes? whatever it is that he’s caught you talking about on the phone with your girlfriends he’s quick to purchasing it. and when you see all the packages and him sitting by them with a sweet smile on his face you can’t help but jump onto him giving him a tight hug.

there’s nothing he loves more than seeing his soon to be wife beaming.

when you’re upset with him, he literally wishes he were dead. he’ll do anything for your forgiveness whether what he did was as small as getting a little snappy or as big as spilling a drink on your new white platform sandals.

sometimes he quite literally starts bawling because he can’t stand seeing you upset with him. obviously you forgive him very quickly because you don’t like seeing him super down in the dumps.

quickly after that he’s all over you kissing you and telling you how it won’t happen again.

the only time you’ll see him become really upset is when another man is trying to get involved with you. that’s when his actions match his looks. he won’t hesitate to beat someone into a pulp just for whistling at you. then he’ll proceed to get back up and hold your hand all innocently.

devoted isn’t even the perfect word to describe it. sometimes it feels as if he’ll do absolutely anything and that’s when you tell him that it’s okay to just stop. but sometimes he just doesn’t trust himself leaving you alone, ya’ know?

you want food? he’ll cook it. you want to take a shower? he’ll help you wash up. you have to use the bathroom? he’ll stand next to you to make sure you don’t fall in.

you’ve gotten so used to it that it doesn’t even bother you anymore.

there’s not even a slight change when you’re having sex.

when you have sex with him he’s still pampering you and praising you. callin you his sweet little princess and telling you about how he won’t let you go while he’s absolutely destroying you. but it’s not bad because it’s reiner. balls deep and rubbing your fleshy insides it doesn’t hurt, because it’s reiner.
