It's Beautiful
It's beautiful 🥺
Durge really needs a hug (both as a child and as an adult)
Even if I might get stabbed I'm hugging them
I just thought of something... I remember that there was this one troupe where characters meet their past/child selfs and talk to them about their future.
What if companions from Bg3 met their child selves? How would they react? What would they say?
Bonus I would also wanna see Durge's reaction to their child self.
Maybe a version of them before they started to kill? Or a version of them after they started to turn into a monster Bhaal wanted them to be?

I can't stop laughing at the thought of Durge and the rest of the companions meeting Gortash who after just seeing Durge walk in he runs towards them, jumps at them, gives them a big hug, telling them how much he missed them and Durge just stands there, looks at their companions confused af because they don't remember that man
Ok hear me out-
Why do I have a feeling that if Gortash and Durge were to talk about how his parents sold him to a literal devil when he was young, Durge's reaction would look like something like this:

I just thought of a quote that I think really fits Redeemed Durge... The quote by Raven from the original Teen Titans
"You may have created me... But you were never my father"
Just Imagine that they say it when they reject him

bonding experience with your dragonborn companion
This has been discussed a hundred times over but I'm gonna do it again. The way Bhaal keeps Durge leashed is so unbelievably fucked up.
Waking up over and over again, covered in every single one of your loved one's blood, knowing it was you that cut the cord...
And they can't even have some kind of false hope like 'I'll keep them hidden, he will never know about our love," because he's you. He's inside you, waiting for you to lose your grip on the monster, leaving you all alone one more time.
They can't have friends. They can't have family. They are so utterly alone, and the only thing that brings any kind of joy - even a sick, twisted, addictive joy - is literal murder.
And at first, I thought it was some fucked-up version of mercy for Bhaal to allow Gortash to live, but now I think it was bait. Bhaal allowing his Perfect, Pure Pet to get their mind ripped apart, but leaving the scent of our dear Lord Enver to guide the way back to our Beloved Father.
That feels like the plan all along. Bhaal using Durge's weakness to lure them back to the Plan and then have them slaughter Gortash while their memory is muddled.
