Some of my favorite magic side effects:

-Nosebleeds. Never gets old.

-Coughing up blood. The good ol’ “cough into your hand and pull it back to see blood” also never gets old.

-Headaches. You keep fighting as your head pounds, desperately telling you to take a break. At first they fade within minutes when you stop using magic, but overtime, they become chronic.

-Fatigue. After a big battle, you stand triumphant, and then just fall asleep on the spot.

-In a similar vein, overuse causing you to straight up faint rather than just fall asleep. Darkness begins to overtake your vision in the middle of battle, unconsciousness abruptly looming over you.

-Any of the side effects happening to another person. Maybe two close characters are connected, and whatever side effects character A would normally endure are transferred to character B. When A uses a blast of magic B screams loudly because holy shit that hurt.

-Magic gradually deteriorating your mind. Using it too much eventually caused hallucinations and an inability to retain memories, or even larger scale memory loss.

hi sharing this because my friend who goes through chronic pain told me to use this as a reference and holy shit i just didn't realize that what i am going through is not only not normal it's also like pretty fucking bad, every day i am dealing with at least 6 but there are flare up days when i experience symptom of the tier 9.

I felt like a massive fucking liar and drama queen for the longest time but sometimes i straight up have days where i can't move and i felt like a lazy bastard.

Pros: Pretty decent home life! Nothing wants to mess with you because ouch. You can FLY. Sippy the nectar. You hunt spiders. Usually. Depends on species. Good eyesight for a bug. Tiny, so can get into small spaces and a little bit of food is a lot.

Cons: Short lifespan. Humans want to kill you for no reason sometimes, even though you are a friend to gardeners. :( Tiny, so brave things can bully you (but you can exact revenge).

But also she's a honey bee, not a wasp. :)
