hail to the joyous one, great Pan almighty !

protector of the woodlands and consort of the plants.

from the highest tree-tipped point to the lowest desert plain you dwell.

your melody is the sound the trees sway to,

your hoofbeat is the heart of the forest,

and your subjects flock when you beckon them

for all are invited to the festivities that never cease.

teach us your carefree ways, father of the birds and lover of the nymphai—

Noumios, Lytêrios, Sinoeis—

hear my prayer of reverence to you, immortal Pheraia !

Pan of the wild unknown, caretaker of the unseen !

for i will remember you with this prayer, and again with another.
