🎶Apollo and Hermes🪽
Okay, i made a post about the relationship between Dionysus and Apollo and how they weren't actually rivals or opposites as Nietzsche said… Now i'll made one for Hermes, because i've been seeing people claim that Hermes and Apollo hates each other too, agh, is like when people says that Artemis hates Apollo 🙄 I mean, they're sibilings, of course we could say that they have that typical sibiling's relationship. But said that they hate each other?? And you know what is the source they uses as a proof for the Apollo hating Hermes thing? The cattle's incident… That confirms they didn't read the Homeric Hymn to Hermes, because there's no more "hate" between them after the cattle's incident. Even in some accounts of the story, Apollo was also amused about the situation… How could you say he hates him for that??
Apollo and Dionysus were more connected in cult and worship, they didn't interact so much in mythology… But Hermes and Apollo HAD many interactions, we could see them togheter in mythology! And their each symbol is something from the other! (I don't know if i explain myself, but the lyre, Apollo's symbol, was a gift from Hermes and the caduceus, Hermes' symbol, was a gift from Apollo)
You know i disagree when people make any of the olympians sibilings hate another… The Olympian are like a big family (they are a big family) they had those moments of tension, but they are very united too… Look at the Homeric Hymn to Apollo, when he is playing the lyre and everybody is dancing! Ares with Hermes, Artemis, Aphrodite, Hebe… I love those moments of the olympians.
I let here a fragment from a vase paint despicting the Gigantomachy in which we have Hermes and Apollo fighting side by side, covering each other back.

The Gigantomachy is another example of Olympians united… Like even Ares and Hephaestus fighted togheter, there's no more tension with them.
I'm an Apollo devotee, of course my DND class is bard
