This Subplot Was Hard On My Feels. Sam Had This Natural Faith That Didn't Define Him - He Just Believed
This subplot was hard on my feels. Sam had this natural faith that didn't define him - he just believed that something benevolent was worth a prayer, worth his respect; that there was something wondrous behind the curtain. He was curious and open to it, then all this. Voice-messaging with dick angels who call him an abomination. Help that doesn't come (or just doesn't help). Lucifer turning prayer back on him as a cruel trick. Chuck going, "I heard your prayers," but nothing about why there was no answer - no care in this cosmos for the individual hanging on the line.
I know Jack's all about the hands-off, lowercase-g godding, but I hope he makes the lights dim or the air smell of nougat or something when Sam prays.

And I needed to think that there was something else watching too, you know?

Supernatural 5x04 The End.
Artistic choices in Supernatural that make your brain melt. I'd love to know who on set made that artistic choice.
Destiel 15x18 = queerbaiting y / n?
No... not to me. It hit me as tragedy. Proper, capital-T, heroic tragedy.
It's just as much queer love if it's lacking the happily-ever-after. Or if it's unresolved, whether Dean reciprocates or not, and if it's agony to watch it unfold because they're good people who deserve happiness and all the love and never catch a break. It's unfair. It's hard to watch. It hurts because I feel their pain.
I thought it was a beautiful scene, very real, and totally in keeping for stubborn-ass-there's-no-other-way-Cas to quietly save it all up for the worst possible moment to say 'I love you' to a man ill-equipped to hear it - and use that opportunity, his last precious moments with the man he loves, his last moments of a life he's come to cherish, to completely reshape how Dean sees himself by tearfully telling him why he's beautiful. That his imperfect example and loving spirit redeemed an angel.
I live for drama/acting that can hurt me this badly.

(Crying now.)
Dear God:
Mate, Castiel's been over you since at least season six. Observe the many fucks Cas does not give about your opinion of him as a mere cookie-cutter supporting character in your unbeta'd self-insert fic.
Amen.

Seriously, I loved these scenes. Chuck's so scary-powerful, even when he's acting like a petulant toddler, even with an exploding Jack-bomb about to go off, but Team Free Will 2.0 are past flinching. Pushed too far. Turned worms. Characters fighting back against a tyrannical author. Nnngh. I had a metagasm.

do you think cas felt it when jimmy died ? how long did it take for him to realize the weight in the back of his being had disappeared ? or was it gradual.. did cas feel jimmy dying ? this light of faith and loyalty blinking and fading out , overwhelmed by inhuman grace for just a little too long ? does cas feel lighter after jimmys death , no longer sharing a home in his body ? or is the absence returned tenfold with a guilt so intense it takes everything in cas not to buckle under it ? how does cas mourn him once he realizes what has happened ? does he ignore it , the pain too much and he too busy ? does he take a page out of the winchester book of grief and drink himself silly (ridding an entire town of liquor for a week) ? or does he try and do his best to give jimmy a proper funeral. a handmade headstone in a flower field out in the middle of nowhere reading ‘in fond memory’. what about heaven ? does cas visit jimmy to beg for forgiveness ? do you think that cas did everything in his power to make up for this one transgression by making jimmys heaven a work of art tailored to relieve an innocently devout man of the tragedy he’s faced. do you think that jimmy , with time , learns to have faith again ? from heaven does he watch cas try to protect claire and realize that maybe things will be okay ? does he see cas’ unyielding love for jack and think to himself that he might have played a hand in that love , that cas holds onto the parental love he saw in jimmy and use that as a foundation for his own ? do you think cas is grateful for jimmy , knowing that his first experience with humanity made him into the man he became ?
DOES ANYONE THINK OF JIMMY AS MUCH AS I DO ? NO ? OKAY THATS COOL
