Fanfiction Idea
Along side my two requests I have finally gotten the inspiration I need to actually write the oldest fanfiction I had plans for. Benvolio x Tybalt. It will take place in the modern day with modern language. The two main difference from Romeo and Juliet: 1) it will focus on the love story between the two foils, not the protagonists. 2) Characters will have more than one braincell and actually make slightly more rational decisions than the original.

literally nothing is ever cliche or cheesy or overrated or outdated, just do what makes you happy life is too short

Literally me fifteen minutes ago reading R&J in class-
In freshman year english class we read Romeo & Juliet and it took us like ten minutes to get through the party scene because even though very few people actually cared about Shakespeare, everyone lost their shit at the line “Tybalt, you are a saucy boy.” and everyone kept cracking up throughout the whole rest of the reading that day, randomly, with people muttering it under their breath.
Now, this was an advanced english class. Kids who take one advanced class tend to take several throughout the years. Considering we had a fairly small high school, the options for advanced classes were somewhat limited, and so throughout the years that original freshman english class has had lots of classes where there were many of us together
And without fail, every english class since then where there has been a group of five or more of us, if someone says anything sassy or we read a story with some sharp wit or anything along those lines, without fail we would all look at each other and say, in unison, “You are a saucy boy.”
Needless to say, our english teacher then was not happy, and all the others through the years have thought that we were lunatics
Do you vibe with us, sir?
I do vibe, sir.
But do you vibe with us, sir?
Is the law on our side if I say "ay?"
No!
Concept: a production of Romeo and Juliet where all the lines are vines. Mercutio’s last words are “ah fuck, I can’t believe you’ve done this”
