tybalt is like a sneaky little rat; a haughty, pretentious fashionmonger, king of CATS. and he hateth me and mine friends, for he can not stand our rebellion against our fathers; our utter REALNESS. so stuck-up in the old values, he is, that he seeth good ol' bromeo as a foe. woe! he must avoid us, lest he catcheth the montague VIRUS... and becometh cool and epic like yours truly.

i’m afraid i am feeling a bit unwell this morning… i hath been coughing and i feel cold all the time, but mine head feels warm… 😕 i wanted to maketh a bowl of soup for myself earlier, but i found that i couldst not take even a step before feeling like the world wast spinning uncontrollably.
cheese escague seems to be concerned. when i woke, he wast sitting on mine stomach and meowing loudly. he wast also, erm… “making biscuits”? i am not so sure that a feline can bake, but that is what i heard it was called…

'tis juliet! i am back from the despicable trenches of cosplay and will now be resuming regular updates on me and mine family!
speaking of mine family.... matters have grown tense. the wedding (you knkw, the one regarding me and county paris?) hath kept getting pushed forward days upon days! 'tis leering ever closer you see, and i hate to admit that i am terrified.
in my heart of hearts i love another, and 'tis misery that mine own flesh and blood cannot see such! i have not slept one wink in the face of my marriage, the prospect of being wed to the one who is not mine more mortifying than death himself.

how was the capulet party??
we had to pretend everything was fine in front of the capulets and my family (since paris is sort of a capulet himself now), for if they knew literally any of the things that we do behind their backs, they would punish tybalt and kick us all out (for example, if they knew about juliet and her... secret boyfriend. or if they knew I am on the montagues' side and, um, accompanied by one at the party. good thing they like masquerades and we get to go all together... (kind of symbolic, now that I think about it 🫢)
thou shouldst have come, for the desserts were EVERYTHING. still not better than benvolio's, though 😌

I shall be honest. it doth sound like a nice idea 😳 moving in with him and raising our cat together instead of constantly moving him from one household to another, spending more time together, having him around at all times... I would enjoy that a lot. but shhhh, dost not tell anyone of this! for I think benny-volio could be scared off 😭 I have tried to speak to him of my feelings, but he got all nervous and embarrassed and jittery.

I found a kitten wandering nearby the Mansion that belongs to Montagues and took it with me.
It is well-bred and looks just as if it belongs to someone, so I shall find it's owner later, but as for that instant I shall make orders to create a collar with a metal token and put an address on its reverse side so that it would be returned here if lost again.

Fanfiction Idea
Along side my two requests I have finally gotten the inspiration I need to actually write the oldest fanfiction I had plans for. Benvolio x Tybalt. It will take place in the modern day with modern language. The two main difference from Romeo and Juliet: 1) it will focus on the love story between the two foils, not the protagonists. 2) Characters will have more than one braincell and actually make slightly more rational decisions than the original.
What she says: I'm fine.
What she means: Why do we never speak about the fact that we don't know what happened to Benvolio after Act III. His last fucking line is "This is the truth, or let Benvolio die." and fucking Shakespeare decided that it would be a great idea to let him out of the play and never speak of him again. He DIED in the Q1 and we never are told how, Lord Montague simply says "and young Benvolio is deceased too." Even though in Q2 at the final scene it says "Enter Lord Montague and others" it is never openly said if he entered along with his uncle or not. His two best friends died, one in his arms and the other was his cousin; he was left alone and Shakespeare didn't even bother tell us his fate. Why couldn't he give him the happy ending he deserved? Why didn't anyone listen to him? Why? There would have been way less death that way.
Thoughts on Mercutio and Benvolio as a ship versus Benvolio and Jutiet's cousin as a ship (I forgot his name. I know it starts with a T)
OOOH BOY BUCKLE UP MY FRIEND
Before getting into this too deeply for such a small fandom, I don't mean this as hate to any other ships. It's a play from 400 years ago and people can ship whoever they want (unsurprisingly I find incestuous ships iffy but I'm not going to throw internet hands or anything because again, 400 year old fiction).
That said, here are my thoughts:
Upon reading the play, Benvolio and Mercutio are the kind of pair that you look at and think "oh yeah, the internet definitely wants these two to kiss" and it's not my least favorite ship for Benvolio. The Still Star Crossed fandom is going to eat me alive if they see this but I don't really understand Benvolio x Rosaline. I haven't watched the show but from my excursions though the Benvolio tag it looks nicely developed. However, I'm going off of the original play and the musical and I just don't see it. Benvolio and Mercutio have a lot of on stage chemistry together when done right, and I actually like the ship quite a lot! I think that in terms of the story them being in a relationship makes a lot of sense and there's a lot of really beautiful fanfiction and art in the fandom!
Having said that, I personally feel that Mercutio and Romeo have even more chemistry on stage. Benvolio is commonly shown as having to stop both of them from their impulsive ideas that could (and do) get them killed. Subjectively I find the dynamic of two impulsive people in a relationship more appealing than a chaos baby being constantly held back by their partner. I also really like the foils in the play falling in love because of the dynamic. The realist and the idealist. I find that it just works better.
And on to Benvolio and Tybalt. I. Love. This. Ship. To the point where I made a side account for it to fill the content void. This play is full of unstable people and relationships. Pretty much the entire cast need a lot of therapy, including these two. The difference is I think they would balance each other out and complement each other well. It's still an impulsive person and a rational person, but without the parenting dynamic of Bencutio. Because they're on opposite sides, Benvolio isn't holding Tybalt back, Tybalt would hold himself back. And I genuinely believe that he is capable of doing that unlike other characters. Benvolio already doesn't want to fight him, but he's always going to be tasked with babysitting Mercutio and Romeo no matter who is dating who.
In conclusion, I like both but think that Mercutio is a better match for Romeo and Benvolio and Tybalt would complement each other and have more of an equal stance in the relationship. And boy do I love healthy relationships being portrayed. I also think that Romeo is better with Mercutio than Juliet but that's (possibly) a conversation for another day.
