Silly little hc that has solidified its place in my heart over the last few weeks: I feel that when Itachi was young (5ish) he was exactly the type of kid to have those little glow in the dark star stickers on his ceiling.

Fuck the stars as a direct metaphor for his lost innocence Your honor your honor your honor you see Them continuing to fall over the course of the next few years and by the time the massacre happens. The ceiling is empty.

Might I suggest:

He was planned, just not by either of his parents. And possible not known about either.

What if Orochimaru pulled an Orochimaru?

He could have been prepping for when Sasuke's body died out, either to have a high quality vessel ready (massive chakra reserves + sharingan) or to at least begin the rough draft stages of trying to figure out how exactly to do that.

Given, it does leave a lot of questions as to how he ended up in Kiri (unless he just stumbled his way out of the tank when Sasuke was destroying the hideout or something) but I think it'd be a fun concept.

If he's not a kisaita fanchild then why is he... (I'm sure some animator was peacefully drawing a fanchild of their favorite ship and studio pierrot said "Hey, let's use that design because I can't think of anything else" and then BOOM!
