This series was so good. I was always excited waiting for a new chapter to come out.
one thing right. 09 | final

“i’ve been wrong about a million times, but i’ve got one thing right.”
or, desperate to get your ailing mother into the best care possible, you ask your childhood friend turned enemy to marry you for his health insurance benefits. the only problem is it’s illegal. and he’s the sheriff. and you swore to hate him since the day he broke your best friend’s heart.
pairing. jeon jungkook x female reader genre. fake marriage au; childhood friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, fluff, angst, slow burn word count. 7,590 masterlist. playlist.
part 01 | 02 | 03 | 04 | 05 | 06 | 07 | 08 | 09 | complete
contains. explicit language, innuendos, a hospital scene, mentions of a stroke, minor character death, depictions of grief/depression, super brief allusion to murder
greer note. this is quite americanized as we do not have universal healthcare which is a major plot device of the series; however, if you get confused by it, just keep in mind it’s a marriage of convenience! this fic is also inspired by my otp in the television show ‘bates motel’
extra special greer note. i have so many feelings about this story coming to a close but the most prominent one is how thankful i am to each of you. i had no idea the kind of love and support i would receive for this series when i started it and i hope i have expressed over the course of its posting just how very grateful i am to each of you. you bubs truly make a difference and i am honored that you chose to give your love to these characters and this series. this will not be the end of sheriff jeon and y/n. they will return in drabbles from time to time and possibly even more since it’s hard to say what the future holds. but i hope that i was able to do them justice throughout this series and that the ending leaves you with the satisfied feelings of a good book. i love you bubs so much. thank you for letting me be a part of your life each week through this series. i hope you enjoy the final part.

“Hey,” you said, leaning over the back of the sofa to drape your arms around Jungkook’s shoulders. You smoothed your palms down his chest, liking the feeling of his hard muscles hidden just beneath his thin shirt a little too much. You wrapped him into a brief hug, pressing your cheek against his.
Jungkook’s fingers wrapped around your wrists to return the affection. “Hey, yourself,” he said, turning to press a kiss to your cheek.
You pouted. “If you’re gonna kiss me, you should do it properly,” you whined.
He grinned, and a moment later you were being pulled over the back of the sofa. You squeaked, landing unceremoniously in a heap on the cushion beside him before he dragged you into his lap. He didn’t give you a chance to chastise him for his disregard of your furniture, pressing a warm, breathtaking kiss to your lips before you could even attempt it. His arms tightened around you as he deepened the kiss, slipping his tongue into your mouth to draw yours out so he could suck on it. You lost yourself to the kiss, momentarily forgetting what you’d even come in here for as your mind filled with bliss.
Jungkook finally pulled away, lips swollen and eyes blown out. "I’m gonna end up ruining this sofa if we keep going,” he groaned.

author’s note: henlo!! here is part 9!! just to make it clear, this isn’t the last part. you will know when it’s over!! also i’m sorry this isn’t as good as the other parts :/ and as always, i’m sorry for eventual mistakes, somehow i always end up editing the last of it in the middle of the night.

“Wait, what? Hoseok, this is more than I can take in at the moment…” you muttered hopelessly as you tilted your coffee mug and watched the liquid move around.
“Okay, well, let me just recap it for you then, and I can give you his chart if you wanna read it for yourself later,” the brown-haired man sitting across from you at the small cafe said.
You nodded slowly, bottom lip caught between your upper and lower teeth. No matter how curious you were, the guilt running through your veins, and the bad taste in your mouth caused the complicated terms to flow in through one ear and out through the other. If they even made it that far.

This was so cute to read. However, I have mixed feelings about the ominous ending. It really disrupted the fluffy feels.
Sweet Saccharine
Reader x Jungkook // sugardaddy!AU // 10311 words
Summary: Trying your best to stay afloat in a ruthless city, you decide to join the sugar bowl. Who knew the sugar baby business would be this exciting?

Genre: Fluff?
A/N: Did I spend 2 hours on sugar baby forums and in the sugar baby tag on tumblr for this fic? Maybe lmao. Hope to god my uni doesn’t keep a tab on my web search history lol. This fic is for @kwritersnet March prompt event!
Part 2 // Part 3
You always had big dreams, you always knew you were meant to live in the city but god, was the city ruthless. Fresh out of university, you were sold the promise of getting a job if you had a degree but here you were bouncing from one building to the next, munching on a sandwich as you ran from one interview to another.
You had done everything right, you had done everything potential employers had asked of you while you were in college. You had a good GPA, volunteered in community outreach events, landed an impressive internship and yet every day for the past month you come home to your tiny apartment with no job. There was nothing more you could have done to make yourself stand out from the rest, you had exhausted every single resource your university provided and yet here you were sitting with an exclusive piece of paper that has now left you with a mountain of debt. You watched on with pure envy as the others in your graduating class continue to get the job ahead of you simply because their parents knew somebody that mattered. A top candidate is what they would call you but at the end of the day, they would always give you the same answer, accompanied with a light encouraging pat.
“You look promising but we’re currently on a hiring freeze and can only accept a limited amount of people. Please try again next time!”
Next time, you huff. There wouldn’t be a next time if you don’t find a way to pay for your ever increasing rent and not to mention the student loans you were drowning in. You did any odd job you could find during the days where you had no interviews scheduled but every other night, you spend your hours at the convenience store around the corner, working the graveyard shift. You’d do anything to get out of the job, to finally avoid having to listen to old drunk men heckle at you or young teenagers trying to shoplift because you were so damn tired of it all. You weren’t meant to live the sub-par life, this wasn’t why you worked so hard to get out of that deadbeat town but maybe everyone back home was right and that maybe you just weren’t meant for the city.
Your mother’s starting to grow suspicious because the amount of money you send home to her seems to dwindle slightly with each month. You lie and say that there’s a problem with the pipes in your apartment and that you had to take out a few extra hundreds to get that covered but how long could you keep her fooled? She was someone you could never really lie to for long, all she had to do was raise her voice at you and the truth would come spilling out in the matter of seconds. She was dependent on you and you felt yourself grow increasingly worried with each day. So, you decide to cut down on costs in every single way possible just so you could vaguely keep the amount you sent home every month at the same value, making sure that your mum was happy.
After a very long week of surviving on just one meal per day, you light up at the thought of finally being able to meet Wendy, your best friend you had met while you were in university. You make your way to a quiet café downtown, trying your best to appear joyful and put together but like always, she saw right through you. She spends the next half an hour trying to get you to spill the beans, to talk about your problems and after much coaxing you finally do.
Wendy sits opposite you a sly smirk on her face as she mulls over your financial predicament. You already begin shaking your head no. Whenever she had that look on, it had meant that she had an idea and usually it was a bad one. It was the same look she had when she convinced you to go skinny dipping at the lake that chilly autumn night, the same look when she convinced you it would be a good idea to eat some space cakes the weekend before one of your midterms. You just knew that that look spelled trouble.
“No. Wendy, I know that look,” You warn, holding up your finger. “I know where this is going.”
“Oh, come on, you haven’t even heard what my idea is yet!”
“That’s because I already know it’s going to be a crap one.”
“Listen, just hear me out! You can say no if you’re not into it.”
“Ugh, fine,” You say, rolling your eyes. “It better be worth my time.”
That smirk returns to her face and you know you’ve just made a mistake. The hardest part about getting you to follow along with her plans was getting you to listen to it in the first place but now that you were listening, Wendy knew that you would eventually say yes.
“Okay, listen carefully. Two words, 4 syllables and the answer to all your problems,” She smiles and you only lift your eyebrows in confusion, urging her to continue.
“Sugar. Baby.”

pairing— min yoongi x reader genre— 20s au, smut, suspense, dark comedy, fluff(?!) warnings— MURDER(S)!!! INTRIGUE!!! slight bloodplay (???), dirty talk, oral (female receiving), choking, creampie & cumplay. word count— 12k about—Min Yoongi, a New York Times journalist, attends an illicit, private party at a speakeasy and meets the girl of his dreams - a jazz club singer by the name of Y/N.
Though that’s where his luck ends…
Because halfway through the party, the entire night gets shaken up after one of the guests is found murdered.

Min Yoongi has always hated the Upper East Side scene. All the flashing of wealth and the overinflated ego of everyone who resides there has always left a bitter taste in Yoongi’s mouth.
And as someone who was born and raised in Brooklyn, he tried to stay far, far away from that side of New York City as much as he could.
But ever since he became a journalist for the New York Times two years ago, working at that part of the city became inevitable. Especially since he has a column in reviewing the best restaurants in the city, and as much as he hates to admit it… Most of them are in the Upper East Side.
Not only that - also because of his job - Yoongi has attended way too many frivolous Upper East Side parties over the last year than he could say he wanted to…
(Oh, his apologies, he should correct himself - Upper East Side benefits… You know the ones that the guests attending wears clothes costing a dozen times more than the cheques they write to the highlighted charity? Yeah, those benefits…)
It’s always a bore - the people in their designer garbs, the conversation filled with fake pleasantries, and hell - even the hors d'oeuvres were nothing to write home to his ma about.
But once again, he was at another one tonight.
