Bshsydhshshd I'm annoyed I don't actually have a muzzle cos my muzzle's a bit itchy and I really need to scratch it!

Anyway I've had a good and quite canine day. Someone outside my friendship group noticed my bone chew toy and seems to be accepting! I guess we'll see next week though.

Day 1 of adding gear to uniform:

It went ok, I kinda chickened out a bit though because while yes, I did have the chew toy out at break, I didn't wear it around my neck on the ribbon I attached it to.

Edit: I haven't added any more gear but I've been more open with the chew toy. Someone growled at me and my (accidental) response was to growl back. Oh well. I also had someone bark at me but they sounded so damn high pitched. I was like mate u sound like a puppy. Get over yourself.

People barking n howling at me and I'm just there like. Why. How do you think barking at me will intimidate me. Do you think I'll come and roll over at your feet? You can't even bark properly. Just... Shut up before you embarrass yourself further.

Anyway they were misgendering me too but yeeeahhh try not to think about the part that actually offends me.

Nevermind I've reported it someone else can deal with it now.

Since everyone seems to like this and I loved making it, we have options...

I made a Scottish deerhound mask! The base is paper plates, the fur is from an old costume, and I lined it with old sheets! The only bit that isn't easy to get is the nose (mouldable plastic from Amazon). It just goes to show what you can make with stuff around the house!

Mask tutorial part 2

Equipment: glue gun, scissors, mask base, fur or another material you want to use.

Step 1: cut a piece of your fabric slightly bigger than the muzzle and cut a small square out of the end, like we did when making the muzzle for the mask base

Step 2: start glueing the fur to the muzzle. Start where the muzzle meets the flat bit, then work along the edges, folding the fur under the edges

You may have extra flaps you need to cut off like the one above that I ended up with

Muzzle finished! You can see I left a gap, that's because I'm going to attach a plastic nose later and this just makes it easier to stick on.

Step 3: attach the ties / elastic. Poke it through the base, tie it, you can glue the tied end down if you want. Do this on both sides. Please don't be an idiot like me and forget until you've glued half the face fur down... 🤦

Step 4: cut the fur for the rest of the base. Cut/ trace around the base, leaving some overlap. Make sure to cut around the triangle for the nose too, or it won't fit around the muzzle properly.

Lay it on top of the mask and cut the nose bit to fit around the muzzle nicely.

Step 5: glue the fabric to the base! (Yes we will cut the eyes out but that comes later) Start at the muzzle and glue around the edges, folding the edges over to the inside of the mask.

Step 6: cut out the eyes. Make sure there is no fur going in your eyes, and if there is, trim that fur. Then if you haven't already, glue around the eyes but DO NOT FOLD THE EDGES INSIDE THE MASK. It puts fur in your eyes. Not comfy.

Yes I am allowed a smaller chew toy, but it's not the same, it's not gear.
