Im Not Dead! And Im Back With A New Pocket Witch - This Is Sammys New Pocket Witch, Gravity! Sammy Has

I’m not dead! And I’m back with a new Pocket Witch - this is Sammy’s new Pocket Witch, Gravity! Sammy has drawn a lot of pictures for me recently, so in return I offered her a Pocket Witch of her own. I originally meant to do just the portrait, but things got out of hand and Gravity demanded a two-page comic to introduce herself, she was very excited to meet Sammy! (She’s very excited about everything.) The spot colour on these is actually done in neon ink which naturally doesn’t show up properly in scans, so I’ll post some photos later showing the neons on the original pages.

Inktober 2017 : Day 18 - Brush Pen And Ink Wash

Inktober 2017 : Day 18 - brush pen and ink wash

Isaac knows a lot of sung prayers, but he doesn’t remember where he learned them. I was inspired by Heikala’s beautiful process videos to try and get some finer lines out of my brush pen, it’s hard but I really want to learn how to do it. I also found a spare waterbrush pen which I filled with diluted ink, so now I can use ink wash at work! Nobody will ever know! Speaking of work, this accurate skeletal hand is brought to you by A Colour Atlas of Clinical Anatomy. (I work in a medical library.)

Inktober 2017 : Day 19 - cartridge pen I draw Lena in fancy shiro-lolita outfits a lot because she looks cute, but in reality she and Lucas don’t have a lot of money and this old, eyelet-lace dress is the only party frock she owns. Look closely and you can see the areas where I learned the hard way that the train station roof is not perfectly waterproof.

Inktober 2017 : Day 3 - Fineliners And Grey Pens

Inktober 2017 : Day 3 - fineliners and grey pens

I had a shift at both jobs AND a horrible cold for the first few days this month, so I’m sticking with simple ones until I feel better. I’ve never tried to draw Sweetpea ‘dolly style’ before, so here he is!

Here are some process photos for the portrait of Pocket Witch Gravity I posted a while ago. Whenever I post process photos it makes me realise how conventional my process is! I think literally the only thing that’s different to any of my friends is that I finish the line inking after the spot black, rather than before. Look out for some close-up photos of the comic as well!
