With AFO's Past We Understand Why He Is Obsessed With Family, It Is Because He Sees Family As People

With AFO's past we understand why he is obsessed with family, it is because he sees family as people who are his who will always love him and be by his side.

That's why AFO hates Kudo for "causing" the death of Yoichi, his only family.

That's why he hates Nana and Endeavor because they have what he always wanted but they choose to put it aside in favor of their work as heroes (although Nana did it because AFO didn't give her another option).

And if DFO theory is true, AFO hates All Might for taking Izuku away from him and for passing on his dream to his son, and by extension, encouraging him to live (what AFO believes) a life full of loneliness and suffering because for AFO the heroes always suffer and are alone, hence why he tells Izuku that he chose a thorny path, while for AFO, the villains have carte blanche to do whatever they want and have followers (they aren't alone).

I'm glad someone FINALLY does Charlotte justice as a character. I saw that many called her a doormat or ended up discarding her as an obsessive person but they did not take into account that:

- She comes from a dysfunctional family and grew up isolated, who never left the palace, so she does not know what the world is really like and nor did she have good social skills so she had no friends.

- Her maid Anna as the closest thing she had to a friend, then when Charlotte meets Griffith, she feels attracted to Griffith because (as far as Charlotte knows) he is the first person she has interacted with outside of her family who treats her as a person beyond her status as princess and heir to the throne, plus Charlotte doesn't know what Griffith did during the eclipse.

I consider her a well-written character and it hurts me how many treat her and I want her (along with Luca and her friends, Sonia and Mule) to flee from Griffith and Falconia as quickly as possible because I fear what he could do to all of them because if he was able to sacrifice the Hawks and hurt Guts and Casca, nothing prevents him from doing the same thing again or doing something worse to them.

Charlotte is simply a good person and she deserves to have a better life and someone who truly loves her for who she is.

About Charlotte and Theresia

So first of all I want to say I don’t want to step on anyone’s feet, please respect my opinion and I’ll respect yours. You’re welcome to discuss this matter with me though, I’m always open to new ideas.

Okay, so what I’ve been thinking about for a little while now was that someone said that Charlotte’s “obsession” with Griffith is creepy. I was asking myself, is she really obsessed or are we missing something here…?

What makes the contrast that Johnny and Valentine have interesting is that both, because of their character development, do the opposite of what they think they are, Johnny becomes kinder and Valentine becomes more selfish.

Johnny sees himself as inferior to his brother Nicholas and as a selfish monster to the point that when he confronts Valentine, Johnny says that he is facing true justice and even genuinely believes that Valentine is a better person than him but for as Johnny matures, the manga shows us that Johnny always had goodness inside him:

- When he decides to leave the saint corpse to save Gyro.

- Johnny is drastic and obsessive when it comes to those who get in his way of getting the saint corpse but he will show surprising kindness to those who have nothing to do with the conflict.

- When he offers to take the girl from Sugar Mountain when he didn't know who she was.

- Johnny chooses to help Lucy Steel.

- When Valentine offers to bring him an alternate version of Gyro, Johnny tells him that if he could he would bring back all the other participants who died during the race.

Valentine sees himself as the chosen patriotic hero who will save America from disgrace, he believes his actions are just and right only for the manga to show us how cruel, selfish and cowardly Valentine really is:

- His plan to redirect America's misfortune to other countries would cause the world to be in ruin and chaos with the United States being the only safe place.

- He does nothing to improve the lives of the socially marginalized because during his mandate native americans are still being exterminated while their territories are illegally taken over (which is why Sandman participates in the race) and African-American people continue to be highly discriminated in society, they receive a lot of mistreatment at work and are paid a pittance so they live in poverty (which is why Pocoloco doesn't want to work and participates in the race).

- He tried to abuse Lucy Steel (a 14-old girl) even after discovering that she was not his wife Scarlet but was disguised as her.

- Valentine doesn't care about the lives of the citizens he claims to protect: he killed a train driver for no apparent reason, doesn't seem concerned when the Love Train ability kills american citizens, and tried to kill Johnny (a american citizen) after pleading with Johnny to free him from the infinity spin and swear to him that he wouldn't hurt him.

AFO and the quirk counselor offer their "help" in making Himiko and Yuuga be what the Hero Society says is normal and they even smile and dress alike. AFO really represents the worst of the Hero Society and Japanese society in general.

Some time ago I made a post where I said that Imu would be a very good and interesting contrast for Luffy and both this post and the chapter 1060 on which it focuses show more clearly the contrast between Luffy, the future Pirate King and Imu, the current King of the World.

Isn't it "funny" that Imu destroys Lulusia in the same chapter where Luffy happily talks with his crew about what is at the end of his dream?

Isn't It "funny" That Imu Destroys Lulusia In The Same Chapter Where Luffy Happily Talks With His Crew

Like, you see this.....

Isn't It "funny" That Imu Destroys Lulusia In The Same Chapter Where Luffy Happily Talks With His Crew

...and after a few pages you have this

Isn't It "funny" That Imu Destroys Lulusia In The Same Chapter Where Luffy Happily Talks With His Crew

I think, if this is no coincidence (which likely isn't, Oda wouldn't randomly put all of these specific scenes in the same chapter), it could be taken as another proof that at the end of Luffy's dream of becoming the pirate king there is something bigger than that, something like maybe uniting the whole world under his crew, the whole world being one "crew" of friends (literally a one piece of friendship lol) and of course Imu stands in the way of it, because they want to keep the world divided into four seas, various nations with social and racial differences fueling hate against each other (instead of directing it towards the ACTUAL enemy).

Imu's style is surely divide et impera, while Luffy wants everyone to be free and happy. I also think ultimately the concept of "one piece" will be applied to the whole world, the Red Line will cease to exist and so all the separations and divisions it symbolises, not just physically as one huge mountain in a world of sea but also as the house of Celestial Dragons and World Government

Guide My Way (Red like Roses part III) is a perfect continuation of the Red like Roses songs! Red like Roses I was musically all about Ruby, but lyrically it's not about her all. It's her connection yo her mother, and then to each of her teammates. Red like Roses part II is a literal dialogue between Ruby and Summer about the abandonment issuess and pressures and ideals a child si forced to burden after losing a parent. But Guide My Way is Ruby affirming her worth as her own person. She can still admire Summer but the true honoring of her isn't being her copy or her echo, it's being her own burning rose.
