(Edit: we didn't realize that this theory was actually quite old and that this has been talked about before but I digress) This is entirely speculation but you know how Tenko's hair got lighter (almost white) and his eyes became red when his Decay quirk activated for the first time? Before that, both of them were black.

If the Dad for One theory is true, AND if Izuku was born with the Decay quirk as some theorize, it could have been that this quirk-related appearance passed down to him by his father could have just been yoinked along with his quirk, hence this fellow ^ right here looking like that. AFO's eyes, at least, could be a side-effect of his main quirk (All for One), since they're quite different from Yoichi's and they're twins (this only is an argument if they're identical twins, that is). With how often Izuku is compared to AFO and Tomura being compared to All Might/Yoichi in the source material, it just makes me wonder if Izuku, unknowingly, was actually a villain in Tenko's story. Being spared having Decay, he got the chance to become a hero just like Tenko dreamed of when he was a child (with his grandma being a hero as well), while Tenko was condemned to the destiny of a villain that was supposed to be Izuku's fate by birthright.

One of the passive skills of the All-For-One quirk is precisely the analysis of the quirk on which user is focused.

Izuku sees a quirk, he analyzes it - remember Mount Lady, he admired the quirk and began to scribble an analysis of it. Or immediately analyzed and found Sludge's weakness. Or found the truth of Stain’s quirk.

You'll say - “so it's because it's in his character!” But.

In Kamino, Afo analyzed Jeans’ quirk and immediately delivered his verdict - hard work for the subtle control of that quirk. Or in Jaku, when he fought with Todoroki and Nejire.

“But it's in his nature to analyze, isn't it?” You say. Well, as it were...

Nine! The canonical villain! And he somehow realized that Katsuma's quirk was exactly what he needed. Not Mahoro, but Katsuma! Initially his version of All-For-One was empty - just his native quirk and All-For-One, then he started stealing quirks from heroes in search of one that would help him with his body, which can't even withstand his native quirk. And he somehow came out to the children's father, and then he found the children and looked at Katsuma and determined his quirk. And I want to point out that this eye and vision effect was in the blank version of the All-For-One!

We haven't yet been shown what the visual effect of the All-For-One quirk is: whether the eyes glow and how the user of the quirk sees his target with those eyes.

Something, however, remains unchanged: the analysis of the quirk when looking at a person and the action of the quirk itself is definitely in the All-For-One quirk.

Well, or it was just wine in my head. You don't have to take it seriously.

Good DFO AU: Izuku is in complete denial about who his dad is.

Best DFO AU: Izuku telling AFO that he can’t be his dad because his dad has a fire breathing quirk.

Also best DFO AU: Izuku knowing that AFO is his dad since Kamino but never mentioning it.

I want an AU where it’s revealed that AFO has a child but no one knows who they are.

And by no one, I mean the heroes. Exclusively. Just so I can have this type of exchange for the whole AU.

Heroes: “But who could be the child of the Symbol of Evil? Of course, we will put our best elements on the case but we might never find out.“

The entire villain community: “It’s the bone breaking kid from the Sport Festival.”

Heroes: “Really, this is a riddle for the ages…”

Heroes: “Don’t be ridiculous! The kid is a sunshine personified! Always nervous and fanboying! There is no way!”

Villains: “Sunshine personified punched Muscular through a mountain.”

Heroes: “… That was a one time thing.”

Villains: “It certainly wasn’t but we will get back to that. Didn’t he recently started to use a completely different quirk?”

Heroes: “Oh yeah, common mistake but it’s actually a new form of his bonebreaking quirk.”

Villains: “There is no way you can actually believe that eldritch black tendrils can be related in any way to a power-type quirk so I am just going to assume that you’re in some kind of very deep denial. Or that he used a brainwashing quirk on you since… you know… HE OBVIOUSLY HAS THE ABILITY TO STEAL QUIRKS. How about that time when he was accused of mass murder?”

Heroes: “That was a mix-up.”

Villains: “Like the time where he definitely didn’t help to bring the Hero Killer down despite the very obvious Air Might red sneakers trace on Stain’s face? Or the time where he obviously forced the son of Endeavor to use his flames on live television? Or when he kicked the crap out of a villain Youtuber so his school festival wouldn’t be interrupted? Or that time when a kid matching his description was seen in Kamino… RESCUING THE LEAGUE OF VILLAINS’ HOSTAGE. How about the fact that every villain trying to take AFO’s place met Deku at some point and he personally kicked their ass?”

Heroes: “Well, no, obviously, those aren’t mix-ups…”

Villains: “Finally!”

Heroes: “These are called coincidences.”

Hawks, finally finding where the local serial killer is hiding in the MLA HQ: “Hey there! How is my favorite pyromaniac doing! I came to visit you because Toga told me you were a bit of conspiracy theorist…”

Dabi, looking up from his conspiracy board with the words PROPRIETY OF TODOROKI TOUYA written on the back: “I’m not.”

Hawks: “Sure, keep telling yourself that. I was just wondering if you had any theories about who All for One’s kid -”

Dabi, going back to his How To Ruin Endeavor’s Life And Kill My Brother plan: “It’s Midoriya Izuku, the kid who keeps mumbling about quirks and who put the fear of God into the heart of most villains now that All for One is in jail. Can you leave now?”

Hawks: “Listen, I know this is a really popular theory in the villain community but I know he can’t be All for One’s kid. I really shouldn’t tell you that but the Commission is pretty sure that his father is a very important top hero…”

Dabi: “Only a moron would think he is All Might’s secret lovechild. It’s obvious that All Might bribed him with a new identity and his own quirk so he wouldn’t become AFO 2.0.”

Hawks: “It’s crazy. His quirk isn’t All Might’s!”

Dabi: “Then why did the number 1 hero’s activity drastically dropped after a kid with an identical quirk started attending UA? And how come that as soon as Midoriya got a handle on the quirk, All Might retired?”

Hawks: “…”

Dabi: “As for Kamino, I would also be pissed if All Might had deprived me of my villainous heir and I was now stuck with Shigaraki instead.”

Hawks: *leaves because it’s starting to make sense*

Dabi: “YOU CAN’T FLY FROM THE TRUTH!”

AU where instead of being a Big Bad Evil Guy, All for One just becomes an immortal quirk doctor and helps people manage their quirks by ridding them of quirks that hurt them or helping them accept their quirks despite societal bullshit. 

Social services bring Tenko to him to get his quirk removed as a child, but AFO tells them to go fuck themselves and adopts Tenko to help him control his quirk but, you know, this time isn’t a total fucking asshole about it.

Endeavor brings Touya to this world renown quirk specialist to discuss why his quirk is hurting him. All for One just takes one look at the kid and brings Endeavor out into the hall to be like “look at what you did. You fucked up a perfectly good 8 year old. He’s self harming.” 

As much as he despises Endeavor, he talks to Touya to find out what he wants. He’s not going to take the kid’s quirk against his will. Touya is insistent that he wants to keep his quirk. He has to surpass All Might. He has to for his dad!

All for One goes back to Endeavor and he’s like, “Well, he doesn’t want his quirk removed. My first suggestion is therapy. You’ve obviously fucked up the kid. If you show me some proof that you’re doing family therapy, I can replicate your quirk factors and give them to Touya. Overtime he should at the very least stop burning himself. With the proper support equipment, he could become a hero if he wants to.”

Endeavor hears the idea of having two powerful hero sons and decides that makes his chances of one of them surpassing All Might all the greater. So he goes along with this “bullshit” family therapy shit, and it takes a while to get him to see his behavior is a problem because he’s an asshole, but AFO refers them to someone he knows will put Endeavor in his place. Endeavor starts to realize how much of an awful human being he is and eventually Touya receives the transplant of replicated quirk factors. And it’s not an easy process. Both Enji and Touya are left exhausted from it and they have to do it a few times before Touya’s body starts producing the quirk factors itself and his skin doesn’t burn when he uses his quirk.

Toga’s parents bring her in, concerned about her fascination with blood and AFO shrugs. “What do you expect? She has a blood quirk.” And he chitchats with her and makes a safe space for her to talk about her dark inclinations and he just tells her to remember that hurting other people isn’t okay, but when she grows up she could become a great actress with a talent like hers and people will let her use their blood and praise her for it and no one will be upset with her. He also sends them to family therapy.

BONUS:

Surprise Dad for One! 

When Izuku turns five and still hasn’t developed a quirk, Inko gets really concerned. DFO tells her not to worry about it. He can sense a quirk in his son. He just can’t tell what it is. Like it’s dormant. Like his brother’s used to be. It’s a little concerning, but DFO tries not to meddle with it. He saw what happened to his brother when he meddled and he can’t do that to his son.

So Izuku still grows up functionally quirkless until All Might gives Izuku One for All. 

Now, I imagine AFO keeps tabs on the current holders of his brother’s quirk and he just despised All Might. All the glitz and glamour and showmanship is a spit in the face of his brother’s legacy. He’s supposed to be a protector. Not a celebrity.

All Might doesn’t even know Izuku is AFO’s kid until after he transfers OFA to him. AFO is fucking livid when Izuku comes home with broken bones and a new quirk. He throttles All Might for it. Who the fuck does he think he is giving such a damaging quirk to a kid without even talking to the kid’s parents! This wasn’t a life or death  situation. He just fucking did it. Like a prick.

AFO doesn’t take the quirk, but he does help Izuku manage it. And Izuku’s own quirk awakens, allowing him to harness all the powers stored in OFA. He also has cool lightning like his dad and that’s neat.

Ok, yk those au’s where izuku, oboro/kurogiri, Tomura, and Dabi escape AFO early and become a family? Someone give me a fic like that where Tomura realizes he’s being manipulated and finds out abt Nana, Dabi reunites with his family but not Endeavor, it shows how kurogiri regained his memories and him reuniting with Aizawa, Mic, and Midnight and meets shinso, bad parent Inko, bad dad-for-one, afo forcing quirks on Tomura and Izuku, and toga joins their family, and later they save eri, and some grandpa nezu who helped them escape and rebuild their lives, pls, that’s all I want. Oh, and it shows the aftermath of them escaping where they all get therapy and go on to being normal citizens and chasing their dreams they hid or were forced to give up bc of afo or society, that sounds so good to me, does anyone want me to write this?? Writing this all out is making me want to write this but would anyone read it??

All for One being an aegis level blade, and recruits other blades to rule world, but also wants to get his brother One for All back on his side. In the process has a son with his driver Inko.

After an encounter with Yagi and his Aegis Level blade One for All defeat's him All for one returning him to his core crystal.

After many years Izuku believing he has no potential to summon Blades stumble across All for One's Core Crystal and-

When he finally agrees to go to Inko's concert. The spotlight is on him.
