the tactile way Dean remembers or longs for Cas' touch

Sometimes I remember that Dean Winchester canonically has a gay man's heart. It was a deliberate choice. To give Dean the heart of a gay man. And it happened in season fucking ONE.

dreamed that kindergarten nap was called sleep class and everybody went to sleep including the teacher. if you were awake it would get a little bit foggy outside and grey and cloudy, and these guys would start approaching the classroom from behind the tree line (forgive my shitty phone drawing)

and they were at least a story tall, some of them were taller, you could see their legs over the trees. they would approach very slowly. this one (the one i drew) had a name for some reason, his name is kick.

before i was totally awake my brain conjured a meme of a bunch of these guys approaching from the treeline and a child watching from the window with the caption “when you the only one awake in sleep class 😂😳😏”

Coming into a fandom late

He kept Cas' bloody trenchcoat and carried it around from car to car.

He stayed a year in Purgatory even though the way back home, back to his baby brother (!!!), was right there. And he prayed to Cas, EVERY NIGHT.

He was on his knees, REFUSING TO FIGHT BACK, telling Cas HE NEEDED HIM and breaking Cas' brainwashing.

He gave Cas a MIXTAPE with songs of his favourite band which his parents FELL IN LOVE TO.

He fell to his knees. He just couldn't make himself leave Cas' body. He was completely SHATTERED.

He then carried Cas' body to the cabin. And prepared it for the hunter's funeral. ALONE.

And he begged GOD himself to bring Cas back.

And he fell to his knees in the land of monsters and prayed to Cas for his forgiveness.

And every time Cas came back to him, Dean found his hope and will to live again.

And I guess I'm writing all that because if Cas had been in a female vessel no one would utter a single doubt that this was a ROMANCE. And why is that ??? Because Dean and Cas' story was written as a LOVE STORY.

dean is always the one being left never the one leaving. except at sonny's. he leaves sonny's. and even then he's choosing to leave sonny's rather than leave sam and john. because when you love someone, you don't leave.

it's canon that Lucifer came to people in the form of those they loved (romantically) and lost.

So he came to Nick as his dead wife.

To Sam as his dead girlfriend.

To Vince as his dead girlfriend.

And to Dean as ... Cas.

he is so gone for him

Cas literally had to incapacitate Dean and throw him across the room like a rag doll as The Empty was coming to get him, otherwise, I think we all know, and Cas knew, that Dean would've followed him. I mean, he stayed in Purgatory for A YEAR, with little hope that Cas was even still alive, just to find him and bring him back home with him and Benny. I 100% believe he would've jumped into the void right behind him. ESPECIALLY after the confession scene. So Dean just gets ragdolled across the room and then looks up to see the love of his life swallowed by a void and all he has left of him is the bloody handprint he left behind. UGH. Why did I write this out. Sigh.

So Supernatural did not introduce Abel, the Biblical brother, but created a whole new character, Colette, the love of Cain's life and paralleled her with Cas

And they did not introduce Biblical Eve, but created a whole new character, Serafina, an ANGEL, the love of Adam's life. And they showed them, a human and an angel, in a loving ROMANTIC relationship

And in Despair, the episode in which Cas confessed his love to Dean, they showed us Charlie losing the woman she loved.

Sam losing the woman he loved.

And Dean losing ... Cas.

It's as if, AS IF, the show was trying to tell us something?????

There's something about the Winchesters watching the love of their lives being killed by powerful cosmic entities and not being able to save them
