🌱 Dragon Slayers: Evolution 🌱

This took a long time, but it was so fun to practice drawing full bodies (and cats 😭) for once! I actually sketched out the concept for these 3 pieces months ago— and recently decided to commit to proper drawings :D

[These pieces were for pure nostalgia, and to revisit media that was part of my artistic journey as a tween! I know the series has major flaws— the treatment of female characters, tasteless fanservice and poor relationship writing, to name a few. I despise these aspects, of course.

I want to make it clear that I drew this art to explore something that shaped my younger self's work. I don't condone Mashima's writing choices, nor did I even keep up with the later arcs of the story and the spin-off(s). Thank you for reading!]

A coloured, digital sketch of Mel, Jayce and Viktor from the show Arcane. It's based on a commonly-redrawn Twelfth Night photo; they're cut off at the chest.

Jayce is between Mel to his right, who angles her head away to kiss near his lips, and Viktor to his left, who is leant against Jayce's shoulder, part of his face obscured. Both of Jayce's hands are held in front of him: his right supporting Mel's hand, and his left holding Hextech crystals that Viktor covers with his own palm. Viktor holds a more refined gem in his other fist, near his chest. Mel's free hand gently guides Jayce's chin.

Mel is content, eyes shut; Jayce is smiling, but looks beyond her, still troubled; Viktor frowns weakly, eyes also closed, nose and mouth bleeding onto Jayce's shoulder.

Mel's smudged lipstick and Viktor's blood is emphasised in the same pinkish-red, and the Hextech crystals give off a blue glow. The gold accents of Mel's design and Jayce's jacket also stand out. There are overlays of red on Mel, to blue on Viktor, merging over Jayce.

The same drawing, except the colours have been removed— leaving only values over a grey base, with the overlays remaining.

🔴 not enough hours in the day 🔵

I used that iconic Twelfth Night photo as inspiration for this...guess who's finally watched Arcane 😏

Digital artwork in a cartoonish, cel-shaded style, depicting a small character lineup from the first 'Ace Attorney' game. From left to right: Maya Fey, Phoenix Wright, Miles Edgeworth and Dick Gumshoe. Each character has slightly more exaggerated proportions than canon.

Maya is the shortest and slim, drawn with round shapes. She stands with her feet together, right knee slightly bent and right hand held out beside her, whilst the other rests on her hip. She's smiling open-mouthed, looking playfully to her left.

Wright is taller and lean, using rounded squares. His feet are planted slightly apart, a case file under his right arm. He's pointing up with his left hand, elbow touching his side. He smiles mildly, one brow raised, looking to his left at Edgeworth.

Edgeworth is a little taller than Wright, skinny and using more angular shapes. His legs are locked together, right fist clenched by his side, whilst his left hand crushes a disposable cup of coffee that spills down. He glares at Wright, scowling.

Gumshoe is the tallest by far, thickset and drawn with rounded shapes. His feet are apart; he stands in a pose similar to canon, right hand scratching behind his head and left in his trouser pocket. He grins, open-mouthed and sheepish, eyes squeezed shut.

This time last year I made character art as I watched an AA trilogy playthrough for the first time…so I decided to recreate it for 2023!

hiiii if you're still doing requests,, can you maybe perhaps draw Mamemomi 🥺 (or Menimemo as the localization calls him but i dont want to call him that...) thank u have a nice day uwaaaa

His theme is so underrated I swear 😭 an absolute banger (hope you have a nice day too!)
