Oh, my poor sweet summer child... Acting like people are boycotting because they don't like spending money. People have no issue with paying for a quality product, but they DO have an issue when a business begins relying on overt greed and shady practices that alienates it's consumer base. This is LITERALLY gambling, throwing money at something you're not gaurenteed to get. This is pitting players against each other in a game that has no other competitive function, save for an automated battle and a popularity contest. The devs AREN'T sitting there and taking it- they're deleting reviews, and locking people (many of them paying players) out of their FB accounts, which means they're locking them out of the game they paid for. People HAVE asked them for improvements, and they responded with the boilerplate "we hear you and we're taking your feedback into consideration" copy/paste that always means "we're ignoring you and we're not changing a damn thing".

These are not starving artists or indie devs struggling to keep their lights on. Elex is a MASSIVE company. Love Nikki is on four servers, and this isn't even the first version of the game- it's the THIRD as far as I know! People spend plenty of money on regular events, on rechage suits, on daily diamond cards- and there are MILLIONS of players on this server alone. This company is making money hand over fist, so forgive me for not being too concerned that little Timmy can't get a new villa for his birthday. If I, or anyone else with a modicum of common sense, were in their shoes, I wouldn't be ignoring all the complaints leveled at me. I would acknowledge that my consumers are pissed at me, uninstalling my product, and warning others away from my product and DO something about it, rather than sit around with my thumbs up my ass waiting for the white whales to buy my another Porche.

Even now, people asked for other ways of treating these events, including just making the ranked suits buyable. The devs just don't pay them any mind. There are no ranked events on the chinese sever and, surprise surprise, it hasn't gone bankrupt. If they had listened to the backlash last time, people wouldn't be up in arms now. They claimed they'd take our words into consideration, and have done almost nothing to prove they have (save for new skintones that, of course, came with an event for them to monetize). This is, almost to the letter, how Activision and EA treat their customers, and look where it got them. A massive drop in both players AND revenue, and in EA's case, government officials looking into their glorified gambling boxes. This isn't about the people behind LN needing money, because the problem is that SOME money clearly isn't enough for them. No, they've made it clear that they want ALL the money ever, and THAT'S what has the community splitting apart. The divide is between people who are upset that something they love is getting worse and worse...

And the people who oh so helpfully remind us that we don't HAVE to play. We don't HAVE to do something we enjoy doing because, if you don't keep your mouth shut and accept every scummy thing a developer or publisher does, then you don't deserve to enjoy it.

LN fans. We don’t need to boycott.

This is a FREE game. Have you ever seen any ads? No. Have you been put at gun point to hand over your money by the devs? No. Do you HAVE to pay to play? No!

Please guys. Boycotting and petitioning is incredibly ridiculous.

These people work hard to make this game a good game to play. Boycotting the event would only make people who are more inclined to win, easier for them to win.

The two basic suits, the starry kimono themed outfit and waitress outfit, are adorable and posable!

Please stop the discourse with devs. They work hard to make a quality game, and seeing you all thrash and throw a temper tantrum, of course they aren’t going to sit there and take it.

Yes, nobody likes ranking events. I don’t either. But…Jesus people, we are better then this!

This is just ONE event across the hundreds, maybe thousands of events we have/had/will have!

Rather then go to ban the event, or “boycott”, and give the game 1 star reviews (which is literally spam btw) why not ask for an improved version? Bigger ranking pools? less costly ways of gaining that ranking in game/or through purchases?

These are all things we can reasonably ask for.

Remember, the developers are PEOPLE. They wake up, go to work, and live with their families, and make a living trying to do what they enjoy, just like you and me.

They rely on paying players to help improve the quality of the game. To keep food on the table. Have the lights running. Send their kids to school.

Just lower your anger, and put yourself in their shoes.

Demonizing these hard working, talented people isn’t the way to go about this.

We don’t need war over one event. There will be better events. This isn’t worth a meltdown.

We need to be mature, understanding and patient.

At the end of the day, this is still just a game. And if you honestly don’t like anything in this game anymore, you aren’t obligated to play it.

This game has a wonderful community, and I don’t want it splitting apart over 1 single event.

So please, be kind to each other, be reasonable, and be understanding.

I mean, they could just NOT do them on this server. It's not like they're doing everything in the same order as the original server. They're doing the Hell events out of order, so why not just... DON'T write these kinds of events into the script for this server? It would be less work for them, more time could be spent implementing new chapters, and people wouldn't complain as much. A win-win situation all around, but nooooo... They want to make ALL the money ever.

Fun fact: the Chinese server DOES NOT have ranked events. iirc it’s Japan that holds the original rank events. The Chinese had one and protested it so much the devs on their server made sure they never had one again. They get suits from the ranked events on the Japanese server as craftable items. And keep in mind, this is a Chinese game.

We also made our disdain for ranked events known with the last one. Our devs responded, saying they would try and tailor events that was more to our base’s liking. BUT HERE WE ARE WITH ANOTHER ONE. Only part of the outrage is over the event itself, but now we’re pissed that our devs ignored and basically lied to us as well.

I FINALLY finished this. I’d have done it sooner, but I was too sick to even bother. And, as you can tell, I didn’t feel like painting the patterns on the Anankos hearts. So yeah, have a Corrupted Gunther. This would probably be his critical art, because it’s a bit too much for a standard (Fire Emblem) character. And even though I came up with dialogue, I don’t feel like being fucked to think up stats (and yes, it’s very much inspired by Wesker because I thought that was the entire point if DC Douglas voicing him)

It's really disappointing how you and people like you completely lack empathy or compassion with people of color wanting to be able to see themselves in media. It's also disappointing how you seem entirely unaware of how impractical it is to demand that we never say anything and just 'make our own' considering that studies have been done that Show how difficult it is for content creators of color to break out into certain industries. Try. For just a moment. To imagine what empathy would be like.

You think I don’t know what it’s like to want to see yourself represented in media, especially anime-esque media?? I abso-fucking-lutely want to see more make up to go with the skin tones in Love Nikki- the fact that, despite all their new suits for this server, they couldn’t be assed to recolor the poses for this new event grinds my gears. BUT!! Bitching and moaning about “muh representation!!” isn’t the way to go. SHOULD LN and Elex do more to cater to this demographic? Hell yes. Do they HAVE to, because we want them to? No, not at all. As a consumer, I want a market. As an artist, I know I’d be pissed off if people told me to change the skin color of my character- it’s a fine line between the two.

And honestly, using the excuse of “bwaah, I’ll never be a multibillion dollar game developer, or a huge movie producer, or a best selling author!!” as an excuse not to create something goes beyond lazy into laughable. I wasn't aware that the creative process hinged entirely on "breaking into the industry"- better tell 99% of the artists on tumblr to smash their tablets and go flip burgers. There’s a thriving indie market for games (which is what this is about) right now: if someone had a bit of drive and a bit of talent, they could easily make themself a very customizable dress-up game. Hell, I remember when everyone was making KISS paper dolls about a decade ago, long before Love Nikki was a thing, and there were plenty that let you change the complexion of the doll. You don’t have to be a millionaire with a successful business to have representation; you have to have an imagination. Every twelve year old on deviantArt knows that. Pick up a pencil, pull out your laptop. It might not be a skin in a dress-up game, but it’ll be *your* representation, not a tan chinese girl named Nikki.

Regarding the weapons, a besom is just a fancy word for a traditional broom, and I think we all know the phrase “Jumping the Broom”. As for Frey’s deal, a brautbecher is a cup designed for a bride and groom to drink from at the same time. And his honey wine is more commonly known as “mead”, the drinking of which after a wedding is thought to give way to the term “honeymoon”. He does *not* want to get married, but who turns down an open bar?
