Someday I will have my own place. My world won’t be confined to my room. I will stumble sleepily through the house in the morning, opening the blinds. I will sit out in the backyard and look at the stars. I will go out whenever I want to. I will survive long enough to have that.

[8:56] you’re perched on the icy-cold, marbled counter in your kitchen, peering out the window adjacent to you. dark, heavy clowds hung low in the sky, filled up with water, about to burst and rain down over the silver city. the world outside your window is gloomy and dismal. you, however, are anything but gloomy. the dreary weather just granted you an opportunity to relax with your lover all day. you were not going to let go of this chance.

the soft pitter-patter of socked feet on a wooden floor stole your attention away from the window. your boyfriend, felix, stumbles in, rubbing the sleep from his puffy eyes, face swolen due to him having woken up minutes prior.

“you weren’t in bed when I woke up,” felix whines pitifully but it‘s not very effective due to his gruff voice.

your lips stretch into a small smile, “sorry love, i wanted to see what the weather was like.”

moving toward you, felix slips his hips between your knees and rests his tiny baby hands on your waist. his head finds a spot in the crook of your neck. your hands glide up and down his back for a few moments before landing on the nape of his neck, carefully combing through his baby hairs. felix hums and you giggle at the vibrations tickling your throat.

“come back to bed with me,” you can feel a pout form on his lips as he mumbles into your shoulder.

you nudge his body away and push yourself from the counter that has grown warm from your body heat, “ok baby, let’s go.”

you grab felix’s hand and tug him in the direction of your bedroom. he trails behind you, sleep still evident in his hunched form. right before you crawled into bed with the love of your life, a deafening clap of thunder sounded throughout the cuty around you. soon after, soft taps sounded against the windows. you smiled and layed down. felix tugged your comforter over the both of you and immediately curled into your warm body. you didn’t mind rainy days one bit.

[7:04pm] you saunter into your bedroom, hair twisted into a gray cotton towel and you buried in one of your boyfriends shirts. your boyfriend, Changbin, grins at you from his place on your bed, and waves his hand, signalling that he wants you closer. you unwrap the towel on your head, hang it on the door and go to join him on the bed.

“how was your shower,” changbin runs his fingers through your damp locks and you hum.

“would’ve been better if you were there,” you respond in the greasiest tone possible and cheekily grin. this drags a laugh out of changbin and he pulls you closer.

“you have me now,” he smirks at you, obviously happy where this conversation is going. unfortunately for him, and maybe for you too, you just want to snuggle.

“it’s too late. I just want you to hold me tonight,” you murmured.

and it’s almost like changbin can read your mind because he pulls you on top on his lap, your legs caging his between them. his hands settle on the small of your back, gently moving up and down with small amounts of pressure. your arms loop around his neck and you lay you head down on his chest. he hums a melody softly in your ear, lulling you to sleep.

you lean up to whisper in his ear, “this is perfect. thank you.”

it’s silent for awhile but it’s not uncomfortable. just before you slip into a dream state changbin mumbles a response, “you’re perfect.”

you fall asleep smiling.
