I Like The Idea That Even Though Misty And Gregory Divorced, It Was One Of The Few Separations In Kurain
I like the idea that even though Misty and Gregory divorced, it was one of the few separations in Kurain Village that was amicable and came with plans to visit in order to keep the children involved with both parents. Misty and Gregory split due to their devotion to each of their career paths - Misty can’t be the Master of Kurain in Japanifornia, and Gregory can’t be a lawyer in Kurain. Therefore, an amicable split was made between them (although the people of Kurain still dislike Gregory since he’s “just like everyone else”, but still insists on sticking around despite “making his choice”), and Greg took Miles since he wouldn’t have a place in Kurain.
When their schedules align, Gregory and Miles visit Misty, Mia, and Maya in Kurain (since they have a vehicle, it’s faster than the girls taking the bus). Since they’re all pretty young and the visits are sparse, they gotta re-introduce them almost every time XD. So the drawing are of one (or a few) of those meetings.

Miles cannot People for the life of him, so he seems like a jerk to Mia and Maya at first, but after Miles becomes friends with Phoenix and Larry, maybe he learns to open up better and they become besties.
Incorporating that Maya gets into Steel Samurai thanks to Miles. Signal Samurai ends, but Steel Samurai’s pilot episode goes on the air during one of their visits in Kurain, so Gregory and Misty make it a bonding experience for the kiddies. Mia doesn’t really get into it, since she’s the oldest (probably 15 here, thinking about their age difference :0) and generally isn’t interested in such genres. But Maya LOVES it. She was probably like Pearl at this age - not knowledgeable about the outside world, and generally rule-abiding - but this is her first taste of mischief, and the introduction of cable tv leads her to become more a prankster to keep things interesting.
I wanna post something else about how Manfred gained custody of Miles post DL-6 even though Misty existed, so watch out for that!

Feel like it’s safe to assume Trucy, Apollo, and Klavier are further down the track. Kristoph moved them from the other road because he wanted to run them all over
