I didn't know it yet but I 100% had a crush on both Maid Marian AND Robin Hood himself

I wish people cared about the things I care about because I just want to info dump but I can never find someone who will just let me info dump without either interrupting to say they don't care or give input when i don't want any

And if you think I can just ask for that, need I remind you that I Cannot

This week's episode of Human Brains Are Weird: READING

I personally get really into reading. When I read I get taken into a different world, I watch the scenes playing out and I love the loves of the characters. I'm surprised when they're surprised, angry when they're angry, sad when they're sad, happy when they're happy, etc.

But others aren't like that.

To some others, reading is just comprehending words on a page. They aren't attached to the characters because they're just words on a page thG someone came up with. Everything in the book is inconsequential because it's just a book.

I don't understand though. I've never understood why people say reading is boring. I've never understood how other people aren't transported to these other worlds.

I've gotten to quite a few twists and emotional scenes in the book I've been reading (*cough* Song of Achilles *cough*) and everytime I express it to my boyfriend his response is "its just words on the page" and I know that but also I am reading this real-time and I feel what he feels and dear gods it is painful.

The human brain is just weird.

There has got to be a website like thesaurus where you can input an entire sentence and it dumbs it down for you. Like please tell me. I understand all those words separately but the sentence isn't sentencing

My favorite thing my dad taught me is that the world is mostly filled with stupid people and, while it's Sad that most of the people in power are stupid people, at least stupid people are entertaining

As someone who lives in America, I complain about America all the time. I complain about the history, the presidents, the gun laws, safe to say I'm not very patriotic..... Until someone from a different country insults America online. (It's usually Brits that I see though I don't wanna generalize) It goes like this.

Me: *hates on America*

Some prick online: *Makes tasteless complaint about the USA*

Me: *spontaneously combusts and transforms into a middle aged white guy on the 4th of July decked out in all American flag attire and an eagle coming to land on my shoulder* USA USA USA USA!!!!!!!!! *Cue American Rage Yell*
