Nightmare! Somniere concept. I have this concept for Nightmare! Somniere. (The form of Somniere where you have Negative Karma) Basically Nightmare! Somniere takes the form of Thalassophobia. It's based on the feelings you have when you have nightmares. It feels like your drowning, like you can't breathe, like you feel like you are in constant danger due to the fact you can't see anything and therefore cannot verify yourself as safe. You feel helpless, powerless to do anything but just hopelessly flail around. And Thalassophobia is deep in dark bodies of water, fitting for Nightmare! Somniere as... it's dark. And I like to think that Player has Thalassophobia since they don't step into deeper waters than a foot. So that just makes things much worse for Player. But they must overcome their fear if they wish to save the island and stop the endless cycle of war.

Just imagining the Special Legendary Doodles we catch aren't actually caught but instead we just have them on speed dial. It still fits with in universe explanation as they can still do their duties as being the of their respective area. And allow us to use them for whatever reason. Those Special Doodles are like Maelzuri and Graphite Lodge, Qilintel and DoodleCo Academy and Zerzura in the Oasis. They sense our capsule, and they immediately book it to wherever we are. Just imagine Player having Somniere and challenging TJ, bro you just give up at that point, your best friend has literally a God on speed dial. If they also caught Verdrok, they have TWO Gods on speed dial. Pair that with Louis and you get THREE Gods on speed dial.
Actually, looking into Zavier and Player's parallels and how they reflect off one another. Like- Okay so I'm going to just ramble some nonsense. Zavier is this like person who only cares about the end goal, a person who doesn't care who he hurts or who gets hurt. Or that's what it looks like. As much as Zavier threatens and says he'll hurt people, he actually hasn't done that. He hasn't actually hurt anyone. He has yet to kill or injure anyone. Contrast that with Player who does care about the people around them. (At least in the Good Karma route). Since if you look at it, if they were like Zavier and didn't care about anything leading up to the end. Why should they go out of their way to do things for strangers if it doesn't benefit them in the long run? Player (In Good Karma route) does it anyway, purely because they want to help people. That's in stark contrast to Zavier. Who doesn't do much, instead keeps talking on and on about how he'll change things and how he's the savior of the island. Yet he hasn't helped anyone and has only caused problems. Zavier and Player are meant to be reflections of one another. One ideal to another. Player is all bite and no bark. While Zavier is all bark and no bite. (Lol bark and bite are actually moves in Doodle World)
Y'know how Player can canonically lift several weights that require like 4-5 people to lift it? Along with a Sewing machine? I like to imagine that Player is like Spider-Man, where they can lift anything and probably punch hard enough to kill someone. But like they don't. Player holds back since most of the time, they battle with their Doodles, not their fists. Remembering that fic where Player and Co. all go to the gym, Player would probably just go to help their friends and hang out rather than actually work out.
I thought more about it, and Player being like Spider-Man is like... perfect. (Rambling) Not in the sense that they have spider powers or anything like that. But like they try to save and help everyone, they don't sacrifice people in the name of the greater good. Unlike Zavier, whose mindset is "The ends justify the means" which means that he's willing to sacrifice who and whatever is in his way to get what he needs. Since it won't matter in the end. But Player? If you take into account all the various help center requests as part of the overall story. Then Player is willing to go out of their way to help people, even when it doesn't matter in the actual Key Hunt. Like the Pizza Delivery help center request in the Oasis, like it serves no real benefit to Player to go out and do this guy's delivery, yet they do it anyway. They get no tips or anything, yet they don't hold it against the one making the pizza. They just take it as it is.
Have you all noticed how both Quincy and Teneson seem to find Portia annoying and a bother? (More ranting) Teneson just talks shit behind her back during our second encounter with him, it just ain't good taste. But consider that Teneson might've had to be the one that Quincy spends a lot of time as a child. I'm thinking that Teneson rubbed off on Quincy. And this caused Quincy to be more of a snob outwardly. Which y'know fits him being that way due to Teneson rather than because of Charles. Charles wants to help the people on island; he sent his executives to aid in the island when the thunderstorm came and caused destruction and obstruction. In Sketchvile, he built a lab there so that the place would get more people going there. He cares about the people on the island despite how distant he is. Charles is what I believe where Quincy gets his deep-down kindness and care for the people on the island. I am a firm Charles believer, and I believe that he means well. He might be very distant, but goddamn does he try to help. He doesn't seem like the harsh and cold type of father or person, he seems like he's a genuinely well meaning guy. For all we could know, Zavier's mindset of "The ends justify the means" could come from Charles.
