Here's My First Piece For Artfight 2022!

A digitally drawn portrait of the character Bicho, a Hollow Knight OC. They are wearing a pale grey helm, with two sets of eyes and horns. The mask is decorated with flowing lines and studs. Their cloak is dark brown. They are in front of a simple blue and white backdrop.

Here's my first piece for Artfight 2022!

This character belongs to the user Sorrelpool, on team Bloom! Their name is Bicho, and is a Hollow Knight OC.

Critique is very much welcome! And my notes on the process for making this are under the cut!

For this one I decided to emulate the coloring style I used when drawing Silas a few days ago, to see how much faster I could make something. Only this time, I was able to use gradients and more layer modes as the app wasn't struggling to process more than five layers.

While I did not change anything major about the character's design, I added more details to the bandanna and mask/helm.

A digitally drawn portrait of the DnD NPC Silas Blake. He is shown from the shoulders up, and is facing to the left of the canvas. His skin and hair are dark, and he has a couple of white streaks in his hair. Silas' jewlery and glasses are all golden, along with his vest and tie. his red jacket has a dark swirling pattern.

I finished Silas Blake (:

Notes that I can’t put under a cut because I’m on mobile and have no clue how to add one:

I used Ibis Paint for this, rather than Clip Studio Paint. I couldn’t blend the same way I normally do, at least not without the iPad crashing every couple on minutes. As a result, everything is a bit sharper.

Silas is from the DnD oneshot named Can’t Play Dead/Wrong Side of the Tracks, by @dailyadventureprompts. I changed his name up a bit.

While actually undead and partially rotting in the oneshot, one of the players was a previous member of Blake’s gang, and requested that he be alive in the portrait.

Critique is very much welcome! I’m still not entirely confident coloring like this, and I’m going to be doing at least one or two more pieces like this.

A digital art piece, showing my DnD OC Morgan, a wood elf farmhand, about to fire Eldritch Blast from his pistol. He is crouched in a small clearing, surrounded by orange bushes and thin birch trees. The end of his gun is starting to glow a bright green.

Morgan is wearing his dark leather armor, pale shirt, and green bandana and sash. His hat casts shadow across his face, and his hair is tossed over his shoulder.

✨ Once again, a pose study got way out of hand! ✨

I've been DMing recently for the group that makes up Morgan's party, so we unfortunately haven't had the chance to continue the usual campaign. However, that won't stop me from drawing my favorite cowboy, and getting some background/environment practice in

The ID is in the Alt text now! Some notes about the piece and process are underneath the cut, and critique and feedback are always welcome! Click it for better quality, tumblr sucks and it's was a massive file. (:

Notes:

This image took a solid two minutes to save once I finished it, and tumblr wouldn't even try to upload it until I sized down a copy.

This isn't based on anywhere the party has visited in the campaign, I just wanted to make the green pop a bit.

My tag "oc: morgan" includes his reference art eventually other finished works with him.

A digital drawing of a spider anthro character, showing the full body. His carapace is dark blue, with darker stripes. He is inhumanly slender, with four extra legs attached to the back, and a defined abdomen. The armor is made of iron and leather straps. Blood stains are visible on the boots, and a dagger is strapped to his legs.

I'm getting ready for Artfight, and have finished up the references for the characters I'm going to have up.

This guy is my Minecraft skin/character, and the closest thing I have to any kind of fursona. He's up on my profile, alongside Morgan. Any other characters I'll add will likely either be Aust, or one of my Bethesda OCs.

The ID is in the Alt text, and a picture of the original skin is under the cut. Critique is always welcome! (:

A screenshot of a Minecraft character, standing in an open cave. A birch tree and large pillar are visible behind the player. The player's skin is based on a spider, wearing a dress shirt and pants, and unbuttoned vest. The tie and other details in the outfit are bright pink, matching the eyes. He is holding a stone axe.

A digital painting of the woods, with several large trees and bushes. The trees' branches are shaped like dripping wax.

Playing around with digital painting, and a new brush as I do so!

The brush is the Square Border Marker, on the Clip Studio Assets store.

This is partially inspired by Sheo's quest in Skyrim, hence the lack of saturation.

A digitally drawn portrait, of a character facing the left of the piece. Their face has been covered by a large hyena skull, and thick brown and orange fur. They are wearing a dark coat, and whisps of smoke flow from the empty eye socket.

Another artfight portrait, for @yardsard666!

Hopefully I’ll be able to do some more painted ones soon. (:

Critique is very much welcome! (:
