Trying to capture those gender vibes. (:
ID is under the cut, and critique is always welcome! (:
[ID: A digital drawing of a person, facing away from the camera. He is shown from the hips up, behind a yellow frame. He is wearing a yellow vest over a pale white dress shirt. The yellow vest is shiny, with a dark red/brown spiderweb pattern around the shoulders. Two sets of insect wings are on the person's back, with yellow and black dots and stripes. The text "finally finished" is in white, and part of the yellow frame. The background is pale blue. End ID]
Just wanted to say i was browsing dnd related stuff on tumblr and came across your intro post for Mordai and I was like wow what are the odds. I too am playing a Drunken master monk tiefling that was apart of the circus before joining a monastery. I knew it was a good background to pair with the drunken master but didn't think too much on it being a common choice so I was surprised to see something the exact same lol.
Hi! (:
Honestly, I had no clue that it’s a common combination either.
I try not to focus on building characters with backgrounds or races to fit their class abilities, focusing instead on what makes an interesting or neat looking character rather than a powerful one. So I never really considered the combination something to be particularly good/effective.
At the time, and currently, I thought/think the combination of aesthetics would work well together, and the drawing of the tiefling monk in Xanathar’s Guide looked neat. (:

5 months ago vs. 15 minutes ago (:
I still haven’t watched many more DSMP streams, so I’ve never actually seen Revivebur outside of fan art, but I adore c!Wilbur’s character arc and concept. Five months ago I had done a quick portrait of him in an attempt to deal with art block, and did a similar thing a few days ago, finishing the second piece just today (as of writing this). (:
ID and some of the changes I made are under the cut! (: Critique is always welcome, and I hope you have a lovely day/night!
Changes Made:
I used a reference this time and it paid off in the hair and facial construction. The new neck and mouth are still a little weird though.
Wilbur is now facing forward, showing more of the stitches across his face and the patch of skin.
The anatomy is generally a bit better - the shoulders are a bit wider, and the lips are finally decent looking. The eyes are definitely more realistic and fit in better with the rest of the piece.
His clothes are a bit cleaner now, and his jacket is in a bit better shape. The pin however, is a bit more desaturated, to look older.
[ID: Two digital art pieces, portraits of the same character, Revivebur from Dream SMP. The portrait on the left is older, and Revivebur is wearing a tattered jacket with several visible tears and a patch on the lapel. He is facing towards the right, and his eyes sit high up on his face, leaving no room for the forehead. The second, newer portrait is on the right, and is much more realistic, with more desaturated skin tones, and a chip taken out of the glasses. End ID]

Here's my first piece for Artfight 2022!
This character belongs to the user Sorrelpool, on team Bloom! Their name is Bicho, and is a Hollow Knight OC.
Critique is very much welcome! And my notes on the process for making this are under the cut!
For this one I decided to emulate the coloring style I used when drawing Silas a few days ago, to see how much faster I could make something. Only this time, I was able to use gradients and more layer modes as the app wasn't struggling to process more than five layers.
While I did not change anything major about the character's design, I added more details to the bandanna and mask/helm.

Here's some friendly fire for @catbatart, and their OC Däzzler! I really like colorful undead characters, and glowing eyes, so I drew this guy.
Critique is very much welcome!
I think this took about 3 and a half hours, but I'm not entirely sure.
The plan was that his head would be tilted up, but I didn't nail the perspective in the right spots.
Somehow I accidentally made him look like Dr. Frank-n-Furter, but I'm not too mad.

An attack for @rypnami, with their character Ellenore, featuring a couple accidental hairstyle changes! (:
I was just in the mood to draw and color long pink hair today. The hair was originally curly like the original reference, but I had to redraw it twice and it got straighter each time. I’m taking an unintentional break from more painterly portraits, as I’m traveling, and stuck using ibis paint on a really old tablet.

✨IT'S REVENGE TIME, BABY!!✨
This character belongs to @yardsard666 again. (:
Notes:
I'm so tired, I got home from a trip, then made this in a few hours. But I did get to draw a meat jacket, which is nice.
The composition is based partially on wrestling posters.

Here's another portrait for @rypnami! This time it's for revenge!
Critique is always welcome! (:
Note:
I was kinda sick making this one, so I didn't shade this as much as I normally shade stuff. I just wanted to draw something.

I was going to take a break from Artfight pieces, and make something for myself, but this design paired a dress shirt and bug wings.

Critique is very much welcome! (:
This one turned out really similar to a previous piece, showing the back and insect-like wings.
My pieces have been kinda rougher this month, with more variety in the shading methods I'm using. I'm counting how I usually shade (a combination of painted and cell shading) as Polished, for Artfight, as it takes a bit longer than what I've been doing for the other pieces.
This month is "see-how-much-art-I-can-make-in-a-month" month.

(: My tablet isn't dead! (:
The adaptor cord was broken, but I have a replacement now, and can keep making finished digital stuff! (:
Notes about the piece and the designs are under the cut, and the image description is in the Alt text! Critique is always welcome!
Columbia was based entirely off of Nell Campbell's performance in the original film and Eddie is a messy combination of a number of different depictions.
Eddie's skin is meant to look somewhat dead, but I'm not sure how well I did - some of it looks a bit flat.
I wish these two had just a bit more time together, they really seemed so happy to see each other. (:
