Hello :D may I request a quiet or slightly shy reader teaching Childe how to use his bow? Childe has never seen them use a bow either so he gets surprised when they help him a lot. ùwú

Of course, anon. This was so fun to write tbh. It’s kinda short but anyways, enjoy!

Masterlist

"You're holding it too far to the left, you're going to shoot it left if you keep holding your bow like that."

Those were the first words you said to him on the day of your date with him, which was supposed to be in Liyue Harbor. He had made a last minute change of plans, and invited you to take a walk with him through the mountains instead.

"What do you mean? This is always how I've shot a bow." he chided. "Yes, hence why your bow skills are still lacking." you said. Ajax looked over at you and sighed, watching as you fidgeted with the smooth river stone on your necklace. it was a nervous habit of yours that he'd picked up on over his years of dating you. It wasn't that you were nervous about talking to him, far from it, in fact. You were nervous about his skills failing him and costing him his life on the battlefield. Just thinking about him not coming back to you one day scared you. "Alright, show me how you shoot then, since you’re the expert and all." he sarcastically remarked. Although you'd never shown him, your skills with a bow were exemplary. You were considered to be one of the best sharp shooters in Liyue. You grabbed the bow and aimed carefully, closing your non-dominant eye and thinking for all of two seconds as your body practically melted into the bow. It seemed to become a part of you as you nocked an arrow and shot it, sending it flying through the air before it hit the dead center of the target. You turned to look back at your boyfriend, who stared at you slack jawed. Ajax walked over to you and wrapped you up in his arms, tangling his fingers in your hair as he pulled you close and slammed his lips against yours. “If I’d known you were struggling to use a bow, I would have helped teach you, Ajax.” You mumbled, putting your hands on his shoulders as you looked to the side. “Why didn’t you tell me you knew how to properly shoot a bow like that?” He asked, pulling away slightly. “I don’t really know. Do you want me to teach you?” You asked, looking up at him. “Yes, I’m struggling with using a bow if I’m being honest.” He admitted, scratching the back of his head. “Alright then, I’ll show you how I do it first.” You said, picking up another arrow from the quiver at your feet. You demonstrated the steps you went through before setting the bow back down and standing up.

"Now then, your turn. Pick up the bow." you commanded, silently watching as he did as you told him. "Relax your shoulders. your rigid posture is what's causing you to aim to the left." you advised. Childe slowly relaxed his shoulders and held the bow more naturally. "Now then, keep a firm grip on the bow handle. you don't want the arrow to miss because of a bad grip, do you?" you asked, listening to him as he chuckled softly. "Point taken, now what?" he asked, watching as you smiled softly. "Nock an arrow, you goof. What else are you going to shoot?" you joked, laughing softly. Ajax looked at you and laughed with you, grabbing an arrow and getting back into the position he was in before. "Do I look good?" he asked, smirking back at you. You huffed softly, shaking your head. "Shut up and aim." you retorted, watching as he did so. Childe looked at the target and closed his non-dominant eye, aiming and shooting the arrow. He hit barely into the second ring of the target, but he cheered when he saw that he actually hit it. "I did it. I finally did it!" he cheered, looking over at you. "That deserves a kiss, don't you think?" he teased, causing you to look to the side as your face went slightly red. You almost timidly leaned forward and pressed your lips against his, before pulling away and taking your bow back. As you did so, he gently grabbed your wrist and turned you to face him. “How did I get so lucky to have you?” He thought out loud, wrapping his arms around your torso. “I- um- mph!” He didn’t wait for you to answer before kissing you again, falling back onto the soft grass below as he held you close to him. “Ajax, are you ok?” You asked, eyes wide with worry. He nodded, a bright smile on his freckled face. You would have scolded him if it weren’t for the look he gave you. His blue eyes seemed to swallow you whole as he gazed at you with so much love. “I love you.” He whispered, his voice heavy with emotion. You smiled softly before pressing your lips against his yet again. “I love you too, Ajax.” You replied, your hands reaching up to hold his face. The two of you stayed like that for a while, silently holding onto each other and talking the day away together.

hops in to drop a small scenario Helluuu ! I hope it's alright to drop this in ;u ;/ I know you wrote a recent Childe request and I hope this is alright to send aah!

Okay okay so… Childhood friends to lovers trope bHFJVbHJ I was thinking what if they were best pals as kids, even before the abyss incident, and reader is often the one that seems "protective" of him? (especially after that incident tbh) Before he was sent to the fatui, they promised to always protect him even if he'll be far away and probably much stronger than them.

Fast forward, eventually, they reunite! Reader is noticeably different in terms of their personality, being much shyer (??) and quiet, however, they're so happy to see him again!

They seem as if they can't fight enemies and is generally weak. However, when Childe was in a very rough situation with a mission, they managed to help him out and possibly save him. <3

I know this is . probably a wack scenario I thought i'd send this in bhjBHFJ

Pinky Promise (Childe x reader)

Notes:Omg anon this is one of my favorite tropes. This scenario is beautiful, and I hope I did it justice!

Warnings: blood, mentions of death, spoilers for Childe's real name

Childe remembered when you and him were just kids, running around Morepesok together and holding hands whenever you two would ice skate with one another. You’d been the only friend he’d had back in his home town, and he cherished you very much. He would always ask you to go ice fishing with him, and you brought snacks whenever you joined him and his father. You two would share a scarf whenever you went out into town with your parents. “Can Ajax go with us?” You’d always ask.

However, that all changed when he was eleven years old, when he fell into the abyss the one time you were at home with a fever. You had to rest to get better, and he was going to look for a way to make you feel better. He fell in, emerging again into the bright light of day three days later, but for him, it was three months. Gone was the urge to walk around in the safety of home, and soon emerged the urge to protect you. He wanted to keep you safe, so whenever someone went too close to you with bad intentions, they soon were laying on the ground, covered in scratches and cuts.

Eventually, unable to tolerate his violent behavior, Childe’s father enlisted him in the Fatui when he reached the age of fifteen. That was all well and good, but you having to move away to Liyue because your father got a job there wasn’t.

He had never been one for tears, even when he was injured or scared and alone, but he remembered vividly crying his eyes out when you told him you had to leave. “I’ll try to visit, I promise, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to very often.” You had said, wrapping your arms around him as he let the tears fall. “I’ll see you again, I promise.” He swore, before pulling away and wiping his eyes on his sleeve, only to again pull you close as he hugged you again. “I promise you, (Y/N).” He whispered. You gently smiled up at him, holding out your pinky. “Pinky promise?” You asked. Ajax laughed slightly, before taking your pinky with his.

“Pinky promise.”

That was well over three years ago, but you still had hope. You loved the warm weather that Liyue provided, and on top of that, Celestia had looked upon you with favor and blessed you with a Pyro Vision, which you earned by fending off several hordes of Hilichurls, which were attacking Quingce Village at the time. You saw one of them attack your mother, and rage had filled you to your core as you launched yourself at it with a fiery rage that ended up burning most of them down in one strike. The elderly there practically thought of you as their own grandchild, sometimes giving you treats and small trinkets whenever you visited them. You’d also recently made a new acquaintance, who went by the name Zhongli. He was a funeral consultant for the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, but he was also a wellspring of knowledge on anything and everything having to do with Liyue’s history. You were glad that he was willing to tell you about it, too, because you’d finished your education at a Liyuean school. One afternoon, you were eating at Third Round Knockout when someone sat next to you. “I’ll have a fire water if you have any, boss, and one for my friend, here.” The man said, you thought he was talking about someone else, so it came as a surprise when the bartender handed the fire water to you. Your head snapped up as you went to ask the man to not bother, but then you saw who it was, and your eyes widened as you looked up at two beautiful deep ocean blue ones. “Ajax.” You breathed. “Hey there, mind if I take a seat next to you?” He asked, causing you to nod. “It’s been ages, what are you doing here? Have you been deployed here? Am I not supposed to be talking to you? Are you-” He put his hands on your shoulders to stop you. “You might get in trouble. What if there’s a Harbinger here?” You asked, causing him to laugh. He leaned in close and lowered his voice to a whisper as he spoke. “The only Harbinger here is me, (Y/N).” He said, pulling away as you looked at him. “What rank?” You asked. “Eleventh, I’m, unfortunately, the weakest, but I’ll eventually get stronger, just wait and see.” He said, smiling proudly at you.

The two of you got caught up with each other over drinks, chatting the evening away. Before you knew it, you had to get home to your family in Quingce, and stood hurriedly to leave. Childe gently caught your arm and spoke. “Let me walk you back home, I insist.” He offered, gently taking your hand into his. You smiled softly, nodding, before leading him out of the harbor.

You two walked and talked, speaking about everything and nothing, like the two of you were fourteen all over again. However, that changed when two Stonehide Lawachurls attacked both of you. You and him jumped back before he spoke. “Get behind me, I got this.” He said, running at them as he put his mask over his face and transformed into Foul Legacy. You watched as he kept hitting them, but that only did so much. You watched him get thrown backward by one of them, and let your Vision guide you as you all but tore them apart with your Claymore. After they finally were dead at your feet, you turned back to Ajax. “Come on, let’s go. I don’t want to get home later than we already are.” You said, helping him up. He was astonished that you were that strong. He shook it off and continued walking with you, until the two of you arrived at Quingce Village as the sun's last rays started to fade in the sky. "Sorry it took us so long to get here, I lost track of time talking to you back at the harbor." you apologized, looking up at him when he said nothing. "What's with the look you're giving me? Is there something wrong?" you asked, seeing his suddenly soft gaze lingering on you. "Can I tell you something?" he asked, causing you to nod. He took a deep breath before meeting your gaze as he spoke. "I-" "(Y/N), there you are! Why are you back so late?!" you heard your mother yelling as she stormed up to you, clearly very angry at your tardy arrival back home, before her facial expression changed when she saw Ajax. "Ah, Mrs. (L/N), it's a pleasure to see you again!" he exclaimed, waving enthusiastically at your mother. "Hold on, Ajax, is that you? Archons above, what in Teyvat are you doing here?" she asked, a bright smile making its way onto her face. "Oh, me and (Y/N) here were catching up over drinks back in the harbor, before they said that they had to come back here. Of course, I insisted on walking them home to make sure that they were safe." he replied. "Oh, thank goodness, and thank you." she said. "Well, I do have to get going, since my flat is all the way back in the harbor." he said, pointing his thumb behind him. "Oh, nonsense, please stay the night, I insist. I'm sure that my husband will be so happy to see you again, since he and your father were close friends before we moved here." she offered. Perfect, I can still tell them. He thought to himself. Over the past few years you were away from Snezhnaya, he had many chances to think of you and how he felt about you. He always felt warm and fuzzy inside whenever he recalled the moments he spent with you, and over time, he realized that he'd developed feelings for you. He embraced these feelings, and wanted to share them with you. Regardless of your answer, he wanted you to know how he felt. In his eyes, there were priorities he wanted to accomplish, like serving the Tsaritsa, and conquering the world. However, those fell far short of winning your heart and having a life with you in it. You had never made him feel like an outcast, and you had accepted him and remained his friend even after he returned from the abyss, but he wanted to be so much more than just friends. He was dragged from his thoughts when he heard your mother call for him to follow her and you to your home, and gave a wide grin before jogging to catch up to the two of you.

The moment he set foot in your home, he felt at ease. The furniture looked comfortable, and there was a coat rack by the door, where he hung his gray overshirt when he walked in. You noticed the scars on his arms from what you assumed were countless fights, and then noticed his gaze on you as he spoke. "I'll tell you what I was about to say later, ok?" he asked, receiving a nod from you in response. "Honey, you'll never guess who (Y/N) ran into today in Liyue Harbor!" your mother called, walking into the kitchen to find your father cooking dinner. He and your mother took turns cooking, since their work schedules were arranged to where they could take turns. He remembered how good both of your parents' cooking was, and the recipes that they both used for different dishes. "Who?" your father asked, causing Ajax to peek his head out from around the corner. "Hey there!" he said, waving. "My goodness, is that who I think it is? Ajax, it's been a while, how are things back home?" he asked, setting down the spoon he was using to stir the food he was making and wiping his hands on his apron. "Things have been good, although I've been away from home for about three months now. However, my father did say that he gives his salutations to you and your family, sir." he said, causing your father to sigh. "How is that fool, anyways?" he asked. "Same as always, you know how he is." he laughed. "Ah, yes, come and have a seat, dinner is almost ready." he said. "Let me help with setting the table then, yeah? Even if I am a guest, our families have known each other for a while now." he offered. "Sure, the silverware and the plates are over there. Here, (Y/N), could you show him where they are?" he asked, causing you to nod. You walked over and pointed up to the cabinet where the plates were. It was only when Ajax leaned over you, his chest pressed against your back, that you realized how much taller he was than you. He looked down as he grabbed the plates and smiled at you. "A mora for your thoughts?" he asked, causing you to shake your head. "It's nothing, just thinking about the fact that you used to be the same height as me, and now you're a human tree in comparison." you observed. "Seriously, that's what you're thinking about?" he asked, causing you to nod, laughing. "Yeah, I let the intrusive thoughts win." you said, scratching the back of your head. The two of you set the table together, and you sat next to him once you were done. Your mother sat next to you and your father served the food, before taking a seat next to her. Ajax took a bite of the food and smiled, humming to himself. "It's delicious as always, sir." he said, looking over at your father. You ate in relative silence, which your mother seemed to notice along with Childe, but neither pointed it out. "Anyways, what job was it that you moved here to take?" he asked, his blue eyes glancing over at you as he spoke. "Ah, I got a job working for the Feiyun Commerce Guild. I help manage the inventory of one of the warehouses." he replied. He nodded, before going back to eating. "Oh, I completely forgot that we're renovating the guest room, and we're still waiting for the couch to get here, so you'll have to use a futon if you don't mind, dear." your mother said, looking over at Childe. "I've slept on the floor before, and I can confirm that a futon is much better than that." he said, chuckling. You, meanwhile, looked him up and down. He was taller and much stronger, that was made obvious by the fact that he now had quite a muscular figure. "Hmm, now about where you would sleep. The living room won't do, since we walk all over the floor, and the guest room is, again, under renovation. You could sleep-" "You could stay in my room if you'd like." you offered, causing your father to whip around and look at you, glaring over in your direction. "Let me finish. It would be rude of him to stay in your room, and we used to have sleepovers as kids all the time, it wouldn't be awkward for either of us, and besides, I think he knows to respect others' space by now." you explained.

Your mother and your father shared a look, before she sighed, tugging on your father's sleeve. "I say we let them. It's not like he's a bad person, we've known him for a large part of his life." she reassured him, causing him to sigh. "Fine, but you better keep your hands to yourself." he said, glaring at Ajax, who held up his hands. "I wasn't going to. I would never do that, I think we both know that, sir." he said, lowering them when he nodded. "(Y/N), can I talk to you for a minute on the porch?" your mother asked, causing you to nod. Your father turned to look at Childe as he spoke. "So, I can tell you like them. How long have you been planning this?" he asked. "Funny thing about that, I didn't even know where in Liyue your family was, so I didn't really plan this at all. In fact, I don't have any nightclothes to wear to sleep, to show you how unprepared I was to stay the night." he said. "Relax, even if I do have feelings for them, it's not very likely they feel the same, after saying all of that stuff to get you to agree to let me stay in their room. And you know me well enough to know that I would never do anything to them that they wouldn't want me to do, you have my word on that." he promised. "Fine, I'll let you stay in their room, but if you do something to them while they're asleep, then I'll... I'll..." he trailed off when he saw the look in Ajax's eyes. "I promise I won't, and I never break my promises. You can ask anyone you want, but the statement holds true regardless of who you ask." he said, taking his plate to the sink and washing it. "Good, glad we had this chat. I'm going to get you something to wear to sleep, and then I'm going to bed. If I'm not out here when they both get back inside, then tell my wife I'm in bed when she gets back." he said, walking to the master bedroom. "Alright, I will." he replied, watching him disappear down the hall. He waited to make sure he was gone, before going to the porch door and hiding out of sight, but within earshot of your conversation.

"...wish he would feel the same." was what he caught, before peeking around to see that you were crying. he wanted to console you, but he wanted to know what you were distressed about. "Well, tell him. If he doesn't feel the same, then so be it. Regardless of what happens, you'll still be there for each other, and that's what matters." your mother said. "But it's Ajax, and I don't want him to feel weird about it, and, Archons, why does this have to be so difficult?" you asked yourself. Meanwhile, said man's face was bright red. He quickly went back to the table and calmed himself down, watching as your father brought back a set of pajamas from his room. "They should fit, but if not, then tell me. I'm sure I have something for you to wear in my wardrobe." he said, causing him to nod. You finally walked back in, and he feigned surprise as he saw the tears rolling down your face. "Oh, hey, are you ok? What happened?" he asked. You shook your head, whispering that you'd tell him later. "Ok, here, why don't you get upstairs and get your things rearranged so that I don't see anything I'm not supposed to. Then I'll come in and you can tell me what's on your mind, ok?" he asked, causing you to nod. You slowly walked upstairs, and he waited until he heard your door shut to turn around. "I can take it from here if you two would like." he said, causing your mother to nod. She was walking away with your father when she stopped and turned around. "Ajax?" she asked. "Hm?" he turned to look at her. "Take care of them, I mean it." she said, receiving a nod from him in reply.

You had just finished tidying up your room when you heard a knock on the door. "You can come in, I'm done cleaning." you said, watching the door open to reveal Childe wearing a pair of sweatpants and a long sleeve nightshirt. It was a little tight, and he looked slightly uncomfortable, but he didn't show whether or not he was, and set the futon he had with him on the floor beside your bed. "So, you wanna talk now?" he asked, looking over at you. "How about you first?" you asked, looking over at him. "Ok, ok, fair enough. I was the one who said I'd speak later first." he said, chuckling softly. He got up and sat on your bed, before holding out his hand for you to take. You put your hand in his, watching as he lifted it to his lips and kissed the back of your palm. "Do you have any clue what you do to me? For years I've been pining after you, thinking about you nonstop while we were apart. It took me a while to figure out why, but I eventually realized that it was because I've fallen hopelessly and deeply in love with you, and I don't think I ever want to stop falling." he said, placing your hand against his face as he smiled warmly at you. He watched as tears welled up in your eyes and you all but fell against him. "Thank goodness, I was so worried that you would reject me if I told you I loved you back." you whispered, wrapping your arms around him and hugging him tightly. You buried your face in his chest as he spoke. "Not that I'm complaining about the fact that you're this close to me, but this nightshirt is very uncomfortable, and I'm starting to sweat." he said, watching as you wiped your eyes and laughed. He thought to keep the nightshirt on, but decided against it, and pulled it over his head before throwing it on the floor. Just as he was tugging it over his head, he saw that you were staring at the scars on his chest. "What's got you staring so hard, huh?" he asked, tilting your face up to where you were looking directly at him. Your face reddened as you looked up at him. "It's nothing, I just didn't expect you to actually take your shirt off." you said, casting your gaze to the side. He studied your face for a minute, before pressing his forehead against yours and closing his eyes. "Can I kiss you?" he asked suddenly, causing you to freeze up. You sighed shakily, relaxing under his warm touch. You nodded softly, and he gently held your face in his hands as the light of the moon bathed the two of you in silver. He slowly leaned in before pressing his lips against yours, kissing you gently as he held you there. "I'd say that this is the perfect way to end a long day, don't you?" he asked, wrapping his arms around your waist and falling on his back against the bed. He got under the covers with you and held you close to him, looking down at you as he spoke. "From now on, I promise to love you, no matter what happens, ok?" he asked, causing you to smile up at him. Just as you closed your eyes and started drifting off, you decided to speak. "Pinky promise?" you asked, holding up your pinky for him to take. Ajax smiled and pressed a kiss to your forehead as he drifted off, but still took your pinky in his own and spoke.

"Pinky promise."

Siblings (Alhaitham x Diluc and Kaeya’s sibling! Reader

Notes: I felt like I had to write a scenario for this because it was too good of an opportunity to do so. Kept it gn since that’s what I had for the original post of this idea but I hope you all enjoy!

Masterlist

Alhaitham scowled as you spoke, not at you, never at you. He was scowling at the counter as you spoke to him. His attention was diverted back to you as you gently took his hands into yours. “We only have to be in Mondstadt for a week. It’s for the Windblume Festival and I never miss a single one, and… are you mad at me? You seem angry.” You asked, looking up at him as his gaze softened and he shook his head. “No, I’m just slightly annoyed is all.” He replied. “Annoyed about what?” You asked. “There’s going to be a lot of people, and I don’t exactly know your family all that well outside of the things you yourself have told me. I’m annoyed about the fact that, of all occasions, this is the one thing I genuinely don’t know how to properly prepare for.” He answered, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning against the counter with a sigh. “Oh, I didn’t know you were nervous. I would have reassured you if I’d known sooner, Haitham.” You said, gently placing a hand against his cheek. He reached up and put his own hand over yours, leaning into your touch. “I promise you that whatever happens, I won’t just stop dating you for their sake.” You reassured him, using your other hand to guide him to lean down as you pressed your lips against his. “Now then, we need to pack tonight, because we have to leave early tomorrow morning in order to get to the Dawn Winery in time for the start of the festival.” You said, slowly withdrawing your hands from his face and turning on your heel to go to your room. He sighed as he looked at where you’d disappeared off to, looking up at the ceiling. “Lesser Lord Kusanali, give me the patience to deal with this one’s family, please.” He muttered to himself. He knew that today would be a long one full of preparation for when the two of you left.

You walked hand in hand with Alhaitham almost the entire way to Mondstadt, a soft smile on your face as you hummed a tune he’d never heard before. You’d donned regular Mondstadter attire, which he noticed immediately. However, he also noticed that you were more anxious than before as the two of you got closer to Mondstadt, but kept brushing off his attempts to find out why with a small “I’m fine, really” but he knew that wasn’t even close to the truth. He decided to ask one last time before giving it a rest. “Please tell me what’s plaguing your mind. I want to help you if I can.” he said, giving your hand a gentle squeeze. You knew that this softer side of him was for you and you only, and that brought you comfort. “I just don’t know how they’ll react to you, since it’s been so long since I last saw the two of them. I know they still care about me, but the reason I left was because the constant arguing and bickering was a bit too much for me. I don’t want to get you dragged into that as well.” you admitted, looking at the entrance to Stone Gate. Alhaitham slowed down to a stop at the pier just before the entrance. He led you to a table and sat beside you, taking your hands into his and looking at you. “I will try my best not to be argumentative with the two of them for your sake if I recognize them, I promise.” He reassured you, watching as you nodded hesitantly after a minute or two. “Thank you, I know it kind of cramps your style, but I really need this.” you said, hugging him. Alhaitham wrapped his arms around you and hugged you back, before slowly lowering his arms as he spoke. “Now then, let’s get going, they’re probably waiting for us at your place.” he advised, holding his hand out for you to take. Without further delay, you both finally crossed the threshold to Stone Gate, and made your way a little further to the Dawn Winery.

Not much had changed about your old home since you last saw it. The only real difference was the fact that there were some decorations for Windblume hung on the lamp posts and the windowsills of the winery. You reached into your shirt and fished out a key on your necklace chain, fitting it into the lock and turning it until a soft click reached your ears. You then gently pushed open the doors and walked into the place. The smell of mahogany and fire reached your nose as you took a deep breath and sighed. “Well, welcome to my abode, we can set our stuff upstairs in my room if you want to.” you proposed. “No, you can’t, but I’ll be happy to take it upstairs for you, dear.” a familiar voice said behind you. You smiled softly and turned around, only to be greeted by the face of Adelinde. “Addie, you know I don’t like to trouble you.” you tried, but she shook her head. “Now, now, Master Kaeya already tried that excuse, and he got an earful during Weinlesefest because he tried not to “be a bother” to me. I haven’t seen you in almost a year, and I’m not about to be told by anyone that I can’t spoil you now. You’ve been gone for far too long, and me and Elzer have missed your lively chatter. Not to mention that you haven’t introduced me to this gentleman behind you yet, either.” she scolded, before taking your bags from your hands and carrying them up to your room. She then came back down and took Alhaitham’s bags from his hands, carrying them upstairs to your room as well. Once she got back downstairs, she dusted herself off a little and clasped her hands together. “Now then, tell me everything. I want to know who this is.” she said, gesturing to Alhaitham. “Well, about that...” you started, and kept going from there, telling her everything that had happened during the time you were in Sumeru.

“And that’s when he finally asked me on a date. But enough about me, how have Diluc and Kaeya been?” you asked, looking at her. Adelinde sighed deeply, before gesturing for you to follow her to the sitting area. “As you know, your brothers haven’t been on very good terms for a while now, but they have recently started talking more to one another. It turns out that Miss Lisa is the one to blame for that because, from what Master Diluc tells me, she saw the two of you on a date together in Sumeru City when she was there for her vacation days.” she explained, watching as you sighed deeply. “Wonderful, she saw us.” you grumbled, causing her to laugh. “Anyways, you two ought to head to the city, the festival is about to start soon.” she advised, watching as you nodded. Alhaitham got up first and gently took your hand into his, helping you up from your seat and holding the door for you as you bid Adelinde farewell until that evening.

You walked to the city and greeted Swan and Lawrence at the gates, waving to the two of them and then walking alongside Alhaitham as you gave him a tour of the place you grew up in. He followed you to the cathedral, and looked around the place before his eyes landed on a Fatuus near the doors. He brushed it off and then followed you out the doors as he spoke. “Things here are very different from Sumeru City. For one, this city is much smaller in comparison, but there are no altars or cathedrals to celebrate our god as you do yours. Rani Kusanali has no statue save for her Statues of the Seven around Sumeru. Furthermore, the weather here is colder than it is in Sumeru, not that I’m complaining, we don’t have snow capped mountains like you do.” he said, pointing to Dragonspine. “Do you want to see it if we have the time? It’s very beautiful this time of year.” you offered, causing him to shake his head. “I’d rather stay down here where it’s warm, but if you insist, I suppose we could go for a little bit.” he replied, watching as your face lit up with joy. “Wonderful, we’ll go tomorrow then, since we’ll be spending today in the city, if that’s alright with you.” you said, causing him to nod his agreement.

Your next stop was the Knights of Favonius headquarters, and you immediately dragged him to the library. “She better be here.” you mumbled under your breath. You pushed open the door and were greeted by the sight of Lisa’s empty desk and several stacks of unorganized books, with a note sitting on the desk that read: out for afternoon tea, be back in an hour. -Lisa. You sighed before looking around the library, and then back at Alhaitham. “It would seem that Lisa learned of our arrival and planned to avoid us today.” you huffed, before smiling. “However, I might as well welcome you to the Knights of Favonius library. I know it’s not nearly as grand as the House of Daena, but it’s got plenty of good novels and linguistics books. If you’d like, we can read for a bit.” you proposed, causing him to shake his head. “It’s alright, I know you want to make sure that my social battery doesn’t run out before this evening, but I’m fine. Besides, it doesn’t run out as fast as you’d think.” Alhaitham said, causing you to nod. “Thank you.” you muttered, burying your face in your hands. “Now then, it’s almost lunch time, and you said that you knew about this place you liked that’s here in the city. You can tell me the rest of our plans for the day over something to eat.” he said, causing you to nod. “Ok, then next stop, Good Hunter.” you replied.

“Welcome to Good Hunter, what would you- Oh, (Y/N), it’s been a while. How have you been?” Sara asked. “Hey, Sara, I’ve been good. Um, could we get a table for two please?” you asked, causing her to nod. “Sure, I’ll have your menus out in a moment, you can choose any table to sit at if you’d like.” she replied, turning to get them. You took Alhaitham to a table and sat down in the chair across from him, before hearing someone clear their throat behind you. You turned around and saw Amber and Eula, the ladder slightly glaring at you. “(Y/N), it’s been forever since I last saw you. Me and Eula were just about to get some lunch from here, do you mind if we join you and whoever this is?” she asked, causing you to nod in response. Alhaitham watched as Eula sat down beside you, while Amber sat beside him. “So, how has your time in Sumeru been? Have you met Collei yet?” Amber asked, smiling brightly at you. “Well, I did briefly see her, but when I did, she talked almost nonstop about you when she found out I was a Mondstadter.” you replied, before listening to her ramble on about her time with Collei. “Ahem, if I may, who exactly is this?” Eula asked, gesturing to Alhaitham. “Ah, yes, this is Alhaitham, we’ve been dating for almost three years now.” you replied, causing Eula to sigh deeply. “Not telling us about your relationship, such a transgression shan’t go unnoticed. Mark my words, (Y/N), vengeance will be-” “Hold on a sec, I had reason not to tell the Knights of Favonius, just please hear me out before you swear to get back at me.” you tried, causing her to slouch back slightly in her chair and relax. “Go on then, plead your case.” she said. “You two work with Kaeya on a daily basis, I couldn’t risk a slip of the tongue to him or Diluc when neither of us were ready to tell them.” you explained, causing Amber to nod. “They do have a point, I mainly report to Captain Kaeya or Jean, both of whom are close to Diluc, and I often just talk about my day and what I’ve heard around the city when I’m not on patrol. You mainly go to the Angels’ Share during your break, which is where both Master Diluc and the Cavalry Captain usually are at that hour. We often talk to them, so I can see where you’re coming from.” Amber said, looking at you. You and Alhaitham kept talking and eating with the two Knights until lunch hour was over and they had to return to work.

You and Alhaitham spent the rest of the day walking around Mondstadt and seeing everything before the sun had finally started to set over the horizon. Just as you were about to enter the tavern, you realized something. “I forgot to get my bag at the Winery.” You said, before turning around and then looking at Alhaitham. “You can head in if you’d like. I’ll be back in a few minutes.” You called, running off to get to the winery. Alhaitham was about to follow you, but decided against it at the last minute, and turned the handle of the door to the Angels’ Share.

Diluc was cleaning a wine glass when someone sat at the bar, taking out a book as he started to read. Kaeya was in his usual spot at the bar, leaning against the counter when the man sat down. “Oh, a new face? What’s your name, good sir?” Kaeya asked, watching him closely. The stranger lowered the book and looked over at him. “Alhaitham.” He replied curtly. “Sounds like a Sumeru name? Is that where you’re from?” Kaeya asked. “Yes, I’m the Akademiya’s Scribe.” He replied, watching as Diluc set down the glass and started to listen. “Well now, what is someone from Sumeru doing all the way in Mondstadt?” He asked, watching as his facial expression softened slightly. “My significant other and I have been dating for almost three years now. They wanted to introduce me to their family during the Windblume Festival.” He explained, noting how Kaeya’s smirk grew wider. “If you’re anything like the rest of those sensitive scholars from the Akademiya, then there aren’t exactly that many people who want to meet you, Scribe Alhaitham.” Diluc commented. Alhaitham smirked at him. “Unlike them, you’ll find that I don’t particularly care what my superiors think of me, nor do I have such hopelessly little street smarts like they do. They may have a degree, but that means nothing if you’re getting mugged in the streets of Port Ormos by Eremites.” He said, before hearing Kaeya chuckle. “What about your significant other’s family? Do they also apply to your disregard for the opinions of others?” He asked. Alhaitham shook his head. “There are certain cases where that doesn’t apply, and to answer your question, yes and no. I would respect their family members to an extent. From what they’ve told me, their siblings didn’t exactly regard their feelings very much while they lived here after a tragedy that happened a few years ago. I am a bit torn on what to do as far as that goes. However, the only thing that I really wish I got to do was meet their father before he passed.” He said, startling them both. “What was their father’s name?” Diluc asked, both he and Kaeya waiting with baited breath.

“Their father’s name was Crepus. I heard that he was a very kind man.” He said, looking at the two of them. Diluc spoke first. “There’s no way you’re dating (Y/N). Someone as cold and stoic as you, dating them? That’s the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever heard. They’re so lively and bright and you’re… not.” Diluc said. “Are you implying that that’s the type of person someone as closed off and cold as yourself would like?” He challenged. Diluc leveled a glare on him as the two started an unspoken staring contest. Diluc looked away and grumbled to himself. However, before he could get another word in, the door to the Tavern swung open to reveal you. “Sorry, I got to the Winery and found my bag but Elzer stopped me to talk to me.” You admitted. “Ah, (Y/N), it’s wonderful to see you again. How have you been lately?” Kaeya asked. “I’ve been good, things in Sumeru are very different compared to Mondstadt, but it’s so beautiful, and it’s very warm there, too. Plus, from what I’ve heard,” you started, looking at Diluc, “there are very good spiced cocktails in Sumeru, and the food there is delicious. Plus, there’s a lot more old technology from Khaenri’ah in the desert that you don’t find in Mond. Here, hold on, I have photos.” You said, grabbing a photo album out of your bag. You handed it to Kaeya, who looked through the photos. After a minute or two, he smirked. “So, Collei lives in Sumeru then? You ought to show Amber these photos, she’s often worried about her, you know.” He said, handing the album to Diluc. “I didn’t know you had so many friends in Sumeru.” He remarked. “Ah, I forgot to introduce you to them, sorry.” You apologized, turning to Alhaitham and taking the barstool beside him. “This is Alhaitham, my boyfriend of three years. He’s the Akademiya’s Scribe.” You said, as Alhaitham took a mental note of the fact that you introduced him as your boyfriend first. “We know. May I ask how much he paid you to pretend to be his lover?” Diluc asked, narrowing his eyes at you. You leveled a glare at him as you spoke. “He didn’t pay me, and you have no right to judge something you yourself don’t have.” You mocked, causing him to give a confused look. “What are you implying?” He asked, a challenge of sorts hidden in his words. “I’m implying, you reckless recluse, that you yourself don’t have a lover, so you have no right to judge mine.” You replied, wrapping your arms around Alhaitham’s bicep as you spoke. “Besides, I’m happy with him, that’s much more important. I will not argue with you about this during the Windblume Festival or ever after about this, it would be a waste of both of our time.” You said. “Personally, if I may, you’re not that bad of a person. Yes, you do tend to be blunt, but I feel as though you genuinely care about how (Y/N) feels and about their opinion, so as far as things go for me, I have no qualms with you dating them.” Kaeya said, watching with a smirk on his face as Diluc scowled at him. He then looked back at you, who was still staring at him. “You seriously like him?” He asked, causing you to nod. “Is there any way I can convince you to leave him?” He asked, watching as you shook your head no. With a deep sigh, Diluc finally gave in and spoke. “Very well, I suppose I can tolerate hosting you at my place then.” He said, putting away the last glass of the evening and grabbing his coat from the coat rack.

After Diluc closed up the Angels’ Share for the night and said goodbye to Kaeya, he walked with you and Alhaitham to the Dawn Winery, looking over at you as you held Alhaitham’s hand. He was surprised when you’d said that you had a lover, let alone someone from Sumeru, but he started to see why you started dating him in the first place. The moment you shivered from the cold night air, Diluc watched as the man beside you took off his cape and gently draped it over your shoulders. “I’ll be fine.” Was all he said when you turned to look at him. The three of you walked in relative silence, with you talking to either Alhaitham or Diluc along the way.

The moment you got to the Dawn Winery, you pushed open the doors and stepped inside, looking around and fully taking in the look of the manor this time. “You’ve changed a few things.” You observed, taking Alhaitham’s cloak off and handing it back to him. He took it with a nod of thanks, hanging it on the coat rack by the door. He then looked around and saw that there was a meal on the table. “It’s still warm if you’d all like to take a seat.” Adelinde offered, looking over at them from the doorway. “Thank you, Adelinde.” Diluc said, taking his seat at the table as you took yours and Alhaitham took his next to you. He nodded to Adelinde as he spoke. “Thank you for the meal.” He said, watching Diluc with a slightly cautious look in his eyes as he ate. When the three of you were done eating, Adelinde took the dishes away and you all went upstairs to get ready for bed.

Once you and Alhaitham were alone, you turned around and gently cupped his face in your hands as you spoke. “Are you alright? I know that was a bit… tense.” You asked, watching as he nodded softly. “I’ll be fine, but what I really need is sleep, I’m exhausted.” He muttered, looking up at you as he sat down on the bed. You nodded softly and grabbed your nightclothes from your suitcase, changing into them quickly before getting in the bed next to him. You felt his arms around your waist and looked back at him, smiling softly. You rolled over to face him and pressed yourself closer to him, wrapping your arms around his neck. “I love you, Haitham.” You whispered, watching as he looked down at you and smiled. “I… I love you too.” He replied, hiding his face in your hair as he spoke. “Aww, are you getting all blushy on me now?” You teased, causing him to huff softly before pulling back and pressing his lips against yours. Your eyes widened before you closed them and melted into his touch, kissing him back. “Go to sleep.” He muttered, holding you close as he closed his eyes. You drifted off with him, enjoying the blissful quiet shared between the two of you in this moment.

AAAA YOUR PREV WRITING WAS SO CUTE.. QAQ tbh i love the idea of childe's s/o being protective of him and tries to take care of him.. childhood friends to lovers warms my heart Q uQ;;

Its nice to see something like that and I'd certainly like to see more of it one day ♡

Thank you anon <3, I'm glad you like my writing! Truth be told, I've always loved that trope the most aside from the soulmate AUs. I also really like writing for Childe since he's such a morally grey character. When he got his rerun late last year, I spent all of the wishes I had at that time pulling on Childe's banner for him and got him literally on the last ten pull I could make (spoiled stubborn ginger) 90 pity killed me istg :'). Anyways, I'm planning to write for him and the other Harbingers (namely Capitano) more in the upcoming months this year, but will still be taking requests for other characters, of course. Until next time~
