This gangly little specimen is a montane large-eyed frog [Leptobrachium montanum], also referred to as the mountain spadefoot toad and mountain litter frog. This species is endemic to Borneo, and it’s scientific name is believed to describe a complex of multiple species of frog in need of further classification. Images by Kurt G.

It (along with the second egg) are being kept in the incubator, since it’s too cold out for fertilized eggs to survive (even if she sits on them). We can’t yet know if they’re fertilized, but will do everything we can to keep them safe either way!
