Black Genderfluid Culture Is Looking Up For Representation And Being Like: Why Are You White? Where's

Black genderfluid culture is looking up for representation and being like: “Why are you white? Where's my representativity, WHERE'S THE MFS THAT REPRESENT MY TRANSITION GOALS???”

I'm dead serious, the amount of times I looked for androgynous people for a lil reference (I need some visualization, long story short I'm using subliminals to get rid of gender dysphoria) and only white and sometimes east asian people popped up makes me mad because: Yo, why only the white enbies get their reference and representation? Why not me? Hm??

And that makes me feral, because the most queer representation, specially trans representation, we see is white. All white people, and that's infuriating because people of colour, trans women of colour, more specific, were a huge, HUGE, part of queer history, and y'all decide to simply ignore our voices? Really nigga? 🤨

Taking this opportunity on this black history month, I wanted to make a highly important request: Dear lgbtqia+ community: PLEASE HEAR COLOURED QUEER VOICES.

Sorry for the rant, I need to get that out. =3

no no you get it.

im white but we don’t talk about that lmao

in the past, A LOT of black folks did a LOT for this community. The fact that the face of the community is now a gay, cis, skinny white guy FUCKING SUCKS!

William Dorsey Swann and Marsha P. Johnson are just two of the names that SHOULD BE TALKED ABOUT MORE!

Please, support your POC girlies! (gender-neutral) This is such a big issue in the LGBTQ community and many others! And you’re right, there really aren’t ANY references for black LGBTQ people.

If anyone has any resources/photos or anything you’d like to share regarding this, please do!!

I’m also passionate about this if you couldn’t tell LMAO

A post from a radqueer stating "(Blank) thinks that if there was no such thing as racial hierarchies and white supremacy, antis wouldn't care about transrace identities!?"

If there was never such a thing as a racial hierarchy or white supremacy, race wouldn't exist at all. Historically, the social construction of race emerged as a tool for colonisers to justify viewing certain groups as inferior, dehumanising them, and providing a pretext for committing unforgivable crimes without consequences. The existence of race was purely made to oppress, and so if oppression didn't exist against race in the first place, race wouldn't exist.

By being transracial, you push the idea that race does exist as a tangible and valid construct and, as a result, is something that can be transitioned to. As well as this, you ignore a fundamental part of the existence of race, which is the oppression or privileges' one gains as a result of their race, which you have never experienced. At the end of the day, race is centered around oppression. Generally, transition for transracial people looks like appropriation of culture, which is not a fundamental part of race, and doing racially insensitive things such as painting your skin darker, which is considered black face. As well as this, being transracial and transitioning pushes against race being phased out of society, which is what we want, as it actually still serves no purpose but to point out the oppressed and oppressors'. In addition to all of this, by labelling yourselves as "Trans" you insinuate that being transgender and transracial are two equally valid ideas and come hand in hand when they are two completely different structures that work in to different ways.

Also, let's not forget that this rhetoric completely ignores the fact that trans men & men of colour are not 100% protected by patriarchy. I addressed this on a post of mine, if y'all wanna check it out.

"all men are evil" is radfem/terf rhetoric, but clarifying "all cis men" because you want to signal that you're not transphobic doesn't work because it's still deeply rooted in radfem beliefs. It's saying you believe there's something inherently evil in being born/assigned "male", and you carry it over in how you treat ppl who transition in or out of that gender. "All cis men are evil", is gender essentialist and you can't get around that.

Fucking tired of ppl who think their terf soundbites with a fresh coat of paint are sooo progressive

“It doesn't matter the color, gender, sexuality or any other characteristic; the important thing is to hate everyone equally.”
